'80s Brands Hatch and Monza should be interesting. Looking forward to experiencing the faster version of the two Lesmos corners and the old double chicane at Rettifilio. :)

I was studying some '80s onboards and footage at Brands, and the major difference I saw was a faster, more sweeping Graham Hill Bend. Paddock looked a bit different as well. The rest of the track looked basically the same to me, though there was kerbing at the exit of Sheene's which would be very welcome.

I was racing in the Dirty Jerz last weekend. Only issue was when my codriver ripped the exhaust and rear bumper off the car on a raised manhole cover in Carlstadt. We didn't even get a trash tornado this time, but it was more of a steady 30mph wind than the gusty norm that creates those monsters. Swallow a Civic whole.

Noone even died this time.

Here we go. Looks like Sheene's used to be Dingle Dell (which is a much more fitting name for that corner!). A faster, more sweeping Graham Hill Bend would be very welcome as well, hate that turn.

I must be in the minority in liking the current G.Hill corner. You brake, throw the car into the corner and hope the rear grips as quickly as it can. Love corners where you can thrash the car around a bit like that.

A propos the new tracks, I can't help thinking PD would be better off using their resources and time towards creating new content instead of slightly different versions of existing tracks with much cosmetic changes. Monza in the 80s was much the same as now, but with different chicanes, run-off (less asphalt), curbs and trackside objects. Much the same with Brands Hatch, which hasn't changed much in it's entire existence.

A propos the Ferrari for Tuesday, just drove it. Fun car, looking forward to tomorrow.

While I agree, I'm hoping they were using the time/resources to do Interlagos and it's kart track and decided to toss in Monza and Brands because it was easy to modify the existing tracks. Better to have two all new tracks and two updated tracks than only two all new ones.

Ideally, of course, they would stop obsessing about "perfection" and little details that most people won't notice and just do "really good" versions of cars/tracks that require less work. But that's not going to happen.

^This 👍

Karts a nice addition though, will be good to get a few races with that going at some point.

The link I posted earlier suggests that we'll be getting Interlagos and the kart track, so they have been making new content as well. (Hopefully) 👍

I think we'll take the Dino to Laguna Seca next week. I just did about 15 laps with cBc and it was a good drive, on SH tires.

No doubt. I'm useless there too - you trying your best to make me crash horribly over the next few races squire ?

Crap, you've figured me out! :dunce: No, I'm usually rather useless there too but I had a feeling the Dino would be good there, and it is.

Oddly, I started out in cockpit view and was rubbish, couldn't hit an apex and kept trying to lose the backend. I was nearly two seconds slower than cBc. Switched to bumper cam, totally different car. Nailed every apex, could push it hard and ended up being nearly one second faster than cBc (that's a net of nearly 3 seconds).

Give it a go, I think you'll quite like it and be able to get lots of slides going. 👍

Here's an onboard of the previous version of Monza that we're likely to get. I quite like the looks of it. I'm guessing it will be a completely new track, not just a modified version of the existing track, but that's just a guess. Either way, should make for some good racing.

It will be close for me. Hopefully I can make it in time for the start tonight! :irked:

Have had no laps with the California.... :grumpy:

I'll keep an eye out for you. If you don't make it to the first one you can jump in on the second one (should start a bit after 8pm EDT). 👍

Something unexpected has come up, and I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. I'm very disappointed, as I put in some good practice this week. i think the car and track combo should make for some exciting action. Have fun, everyone.

I've opened the room a little early to get some practice in. It's up now, qualifying will start at 7:30pm EDT (45 minutes from now) and the second race will start a bit after 8pm. This car is fairly easy to handle so everyone is on SH tonight.

I had a great battle in the 2nd race against @turnupdaheat 👍 Great fun!

However, on the first lap, going thru the esses, I ran into @Torzilla and knocked him off the track:guilty:

Sorry about that, my bad.:dunce:

Looking at the replay, it looks like Torzilla had to jump on the binders because the cars in front were banging on each other, and I just drove up and ran into Torzilla. Sorry!

After that, I think @SagarisGTB also ran into Torzilla because I had knocked Torzilla side-ways.

Sorry about any damage your Ferrari might have sustained.:(

Well, that was one of the most fun nights of racing I've had in a long time. Really great stuff tonight fellas, that California is awesome to race. I made a mistake early in race 2 that cost me a likely win but I had so much fun fighting my way back up to 2nd that I didn't even care. Pressuring @MC-Chase into an error on the last lap to secure that position was the icing on the cake. :)

Really impressive and fun racing tonight guys. Congrats to @SagarisGTB and @LancerEvo7 on their victories. to all.

No problemmo, I got on the breaks late and bumped MC Chase and thought the contact behind me was a result of my late breaking, but incidents happen on the track and I don't think Ill be losing any sleep over this.

Thanks for the great first time guys, had a blast out there today. :D
Sorry if I acted like a bit of a road cone out there though.

Great racing tonight. Never could find the pace I needed in the races :dunce: but had a lot of fun anyway. :D

Hopefully I can find a few more tenths by Saturday so I can actually hang onto @BrandonW77 's bumper instead of watching him scamper off into the distance. That was really frustrating!! :dopey:

:dopey: I don't know where I've found this pace lately, I was doing mid 17's all night. I was only a few tenths off Sag's pole time and historically I'm about two seconds off his pace. Granted, he admitted to being a bit rusty but I was on it. I think my best non-draft lap was around 17.3. No major screw ups either, aside from that huge bobble in the second race, still can't believe I recovered from that. Good stuff! :D

Good fun tonight. Congrats to @LancerEvo7 on his win. :)

Race 1 I led from start to finish and though it was tense, race 2 was better, an absolute hoot. Though I did make mistakes and touch with others (I had to drop back on three occasions, the most egregious of which was after I hit cBc into Village, sorry!), selfishly I was all the better for it as the race unfolded to give me a chance to battle with almost everyone out there. Side-by-side racing, dense traffic, exploring every line on the circuit, drifting, I'll take a 5th place like this over a wire-to-wire win any day. 👍
