and that you can hoon around reving and honking in the starting grid

I was watching some replays from VCRC last night and that time period (after qualifier, before race starts) shows up in the replays........so I had to sit there staring at motionless, honking, revving cars for like 2 minutes (felt like 20!) before the race actually started. At first I thought the replay had locked up, then I realized this is the time where it's showing us the starting grid. I already thought the horns were annoying, but this time they were REALLY annoying! :grumpy:

seems to be the same button as in the seasonals , default is d-pad up iirc 👍

For some reason I didn't think to try that. :dunce:

No place for horn on my pad key settings. Every button already taken. Had it bound to L3 once but ended up having me unintenionally honk at almost every turn in squeezing the pad too much annoying a lot of people... :ouch:

This reminds me of someone... only with lights!!! :sly:

Oh my goodness I have the horn set to the same thing! I always keep forgetting to switch it with the lights which are now set to r3. I don't use that button so I won't unintentionally honk which I've already done many times. Oh and @MC-Chase, hobbsy has his Porsche cup ready

Who all's coming out tonight? The mustache GTO is a very rewarding drive around the old Monza, it's one of those combos that I just start driving around and before I know it 15 laps has gone by. My best draft-free lap during practice last night was a 1:50.4, but Mr. Penso joined us and promptly dropped to the flat :49's.

Only managed to pop a few offline laps in this week, I think I was hitting 47's which means I'll probably be 50ish on an online lap. Not had much practice so I'll be pacing myself tonight, don't expect me anywhere near the front - I'll be there though.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we've heard it all before. This is a car that likes to be sideways so I'm sure you'll be twitching your way into the 48's and 49's without problem. I'll go ahead and pencil your name onto the Wall of Champions......again.

Count me in but I genuinely don't know what to expect my pace will be like. I usually try to run a few laps with the combo on a Monday night but didn't get a chance last night so I'll be going in blind.

I'm having a bit of a crisis of conscience about painting the 288 GTO my usual colour. It's my favourite Ferrari and I kinda think it really should remain red!

I agree with this. I haven't been able to bring myself to paint any of my Ferrari's any other color than some shade of red, but I do usually put black wheels on there. :) The only other colors I consider acceptable for Ferrari's is yellow and black, and Chase and King already have dibs on those colors colours.

Well mine is a yellow but it's a BMW colour (Austin Yellow). Ah feck the expense I can always paint it Rosso Corsa again once the race is over.

I do have about 40 mil in the bank so I could paint it a few times I suppose!

To bad I paint mine green! The best part is the name of the green that I've been painting my ferraris is verde countach!

Also why are offline laps faster than online laps?

I'll definitely be there. After studying some laps from Brandon and Mr. Penso, I managed to shave a full second off my time in just four laps of practice last night (down to a 49.8). For me, key elements are attacking the Rettifilo kerbs as aggressively as possible without upsetting the car, and getting really good launches coming off of Lesmos II and Parabolica.

Grip is different, since offline the tyres are at optimum grip and temperature. Also, I'm pretty sure that there's no fuel weight offline either.

Im not gonna make it tonight, those 2am bedtimes are killing me! Plus I was playing football last night for the first time in a long time and I'm f:censored:ed, so an early night and hopefully some good practise in the week and i'll be ready for saturday. 👍

On the topic of off/online times... I never seem to get vastly faster times offline, if anything its the other way around! Maybe I'm just too set at easing myself into it, rather than going hell for leather right from the start!

Have a good one, Best of luck @BrandonW77... maybe just maybe you might find your first win tonight! Or maybe that nemesis Banana Yellow GTO will show you a set of heels, as he clears off into the parabolica... sideways!

Laters :D

All the Ferraris I have (and will) raced here are red or blue. Red for Italy, blue for NART.

I just put in my first laps for this combo. Offline and it was 51s, so looks like I'll be well off the pace.

Edit: Closed.

I like following national racing colours too, but I tend to stick with yellow online as some form of primitive trademark. Japan have the best racing colours anyway (white).

My understanding of the difference between online/offline times is that part of it is due to the amount of data being sent. Because of the extra strain of having to sync data from multiple sources from all around the globe, the data referencing grip is cut to the bare minimum. I'm a layman in this area so that's probably not entirely accurate, but it's something like that.

@hobbsy any chance you can guest host again this weekend since I won't be around?

Good racing tonight fellas, even though I spent the majority of the time by myself. I've added two more 2nd place trophies to my collection, I guess that makes me the fastest non-alien. :dunce: Ah, well. Congrats to @SagarisGTB and @MC-Chase on adding to their victory tally.
