If you go wide at t11 you'll end up in gravel so it's only t12 that there could be any possible advantage going wide.

It's not running wide at t11, it's cutting the inside curb/paved area on entry that gets you an advantage (and a rather large one).

Same rules apply as always, try your best to keep at least two wheels inside the white line/curbs. If you go wide at t7, good luck with that as it will likely end in tears and not any advantage. T11 is the only one I have a concern about, I try to use every legal inch I can there but this car tends to go into 4wheel-drift mode on entry so being precise is tricky (err on the side of caution and keep it clean).

As for the final turn, I don't understand why the white line is there and why the whole track isn't legal. I don't see any real advantage one way or the other, if you stay inside the line or drift outside of it. But for the sake of order, please try not to drift outside the white line on the final turn (two wheels over it are ok). Occasional mishaps will occur but if somebody is consistently cutting t11 and running wide at t12 then we'll have to have a talk. If you do run wide or cut a corner a momentary lift of the throttle will negate any advantage, and be sure not to gain a position if it happens.

Meeting adjourned, off to the pub.

@turnupdaheat T11 is one that I would look to cut as the curb here also has a concrete area inside (outside of the white line) So there may be question as to the two wheel rule inside the white line, or within the rumble strip?

Edit... Brandon beat me to the line once again :guilty::lol:

So there may be question as to the two wheel rule inside the white line, or within the rumble strip?

Whichever one is further out is the boundary. If the white line is inside the curb then the outer edge of the curb is the boundary. If the white line is outside the curb than the white line is the boundary. If there is no curb then the line is the boundary and if there is no line then the outside edge of the curb is the boundary. As long as some part of rubber on two tires is touching the boundary then it is legal (even if this means the other two wheels are completely off the track/in the grass).

EDIT: I believe this jives with the OLR guidelines, correct? That's what I intend to go by.

Lol, I've obviously being driving too clean! I thought it was a gravely area on the inside of t11 and never cut across it! Was there gravel in there in gt5?

The room is open for practice. Qualifying for the first race will begin at 7:30 EDT and the second race should begin a little after 8pm. (Yes, I got the times right this time. :dunce: )

Wow. Wow. WOW!! What an incredible night of racing! Even with this twitchy car we had lots of clean, intense racing! In both races I found myself at the back early and had to fight my way back. In the second race I was 15 seconds down at the end of the first lap and came within .031 of the victory! I'm still shaking.

 to @hobbsy and @turnupdaheat on hard earned victories.

I think that second race is worthy of resurrecting the Race Report!!!:sly:

Its 2am in the morning here in the UK, my head is buzzing from everything that just happened in our last race, I'm dying to watch back the replay of the race as there was just so much going on, lots of passing, close and clean racing, this was truely an EPIC race... But now I have to try and sleep, for an early alarm call is looming... I don't fancy my chances of making to work in the morning!

Thanks to all , catch you soon

Its 4.18am here and I'm just leaving home for work :dunce:
But after checking the forums and seeing that the races were great ,makes me happy :D
Looking forward to saturday

Sorry I missed out on that one guys, mad tired! I turned the playstation on and got a coffee going around 11 - took a lie-down to wait for the coffee to cool and when i woke up it was 1:30am haha .

Looks like it was good fun! Looking forward to that race report Hobbsy :P.

@BrandonW77
My psn is sagarismic. Think I could make Tuesday next week with the California.

Excellent. Look forward to seeing you on track again. 👍

Looking forward to saturday

It was very good, way better than I expected with this car and taming it was very enjoyable. Trail braking it deep to make a pass was incredibly rewarding.

So, as I mentioned before, I will not be around this Saturday as I'm going to the real Indy Road Course to watch IndyCars race on the infield track for the first time. There's no reason you guys can't still race though, if someone is willing to guest host. @hobbsy @KingKlingeling @daddyo845 @Cu3e would any of you (or anyone else) be willing to host this Saturday? You can do it in a public room so FR's won't be necessary and I can tell you how to restrict the room so that only the 512BB will be allowed on track (to discourage any riff-raff from bringing other cars on track). If not, we can try to reschedule it for about the same time Sunday, or just move on to the California next week.

I could host it. Unless anyone else would like to.

👍 It should be pretty straight forward. If you set the room restrictions to Manufacturer: Ferrari, 488pp, 371hp, 1400kg, drivetrain MR, tuning prohibited then only the 512bb should be able to get in. This way if any Randoms wander into the room they won't be able to bring other cars on the track. If they have a 512, stock, and want to race feel free to let them as long as they don't cause any problems. I don't think anyone opted for the SS last night so I'd recommend setting the restriction to SM to keep Random's from using too good of a tire.

For qualifying I usually reset the track (change to different track and then back to desired track) to reset the times and just do a 10 minute free run. As long as nobody exits to the lounge during the session it should start everyone in the correct order. To keep it simple you can just do a 10 minute qualifier if you want (just remember to turn off qualifier before the second race, and change to reverse grid). 👍

The 2nd Race was just great!:)

@turnupdaheat ran a masterful race on the front-end of our train.👍

A number of times I would get close to him, but I was never really able to attempt any passes during the first 13 laps. I just wasn't fast enough.:(

And I spent so many laps watching my mirrors to see who was going to pass me that I was completely worn-out by the end of the race.:boggled:

After the train finally came past at the beginning of lap # 14, I made a huge mistake and did some 360's out in the grass.:dunce:

Great race everyone!

I'm pretty sure. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when you select "one-make" you can only select one of the handful of courtesy cars. And there aren't nearly enough of them, and it sucks you can't select two or three of them like you could in GT5.

After the 2nd Race, I took a look at the Best Lap times and was suitably pleased to see that I ran a 1:42.995 lap!:)

This was 3/4's of a second faster than my best lap in the first race which was a 1:43.741, so I was quite pleased to see this improvement between the two races.:)

Now if I can only find another second or so, I might be able to catch @BrandonW77

Race 2 Best Laps:

Brandon............1:41.523
Nemesis............1:41.980
Amarynceos.......1:42.678

See you on the tracks!

@GTsail290 I'm pretty sure that 1:41.523 was without the draft too, I know I had a few :41's without draft assistance. Yet the best I could do in qualifying was a :42.2x. :dunce: I was a man on a mission during the races though, trying to claw my way back from the rear. The second race I was gaining about 1 second per lap on the leader, felt like I was possessed by Senna's ghost!

The 2nd Race was just great!:)

It certainly was and what really struck me was the general sense of excitement at the end. Usually in these types of races you might expect the field to be wider spread and at the end lads talking about great battles with 1 or 2 other cars but last night was different with just about the whole field racing nose to tail with each other for most of the race.

After I managed to make my way to the lead I just tried to settle into a rythm but I was always concious that any mistake would drop me back to the clutches of the hungry pack led by GTsail only a couple of seconds behind me. Now I know exactly how the rabbit feels during a greyhound race! :nervous:

I always prefer to be doing the chasing rather than trying to focus up front... I think the pressure is different, when your behind you (almost) have nothing to lose, and you can gauge your self against those in front, but when you 're leading you have everything to lose and you have to guess just how hard (or not) you have to push!

I shall be reviewing the replay tonight, so expect some treats!

I'll be there Saturday for sure. Plus I really love that car. I did some practice this noon again and I managed to reach a good pace :) see you on the track fellow racers ;)
