Good races today. Never managed to find any pace in the second race, but it was a good challenge trying to catch back up after being helped into the gravel at Paddock. Went off there on my own in race one, as well. :ouch:
Oh you keep making me feel so guilty :(. You know I was punted twice too. But at paddock I think I plain just missed my braking point. Also speedy your start on the 2nd race was the best start I've ever seen

I got DC'd during the second race but I don't think it really hurt my chances of taking the win. I also gave daddyo a pretty nasty bump so I wanted to say sorry about that, it was not intentional.

I know It wasn't. I was mad at first but eh this stuff happens. I don't mind that much because I still was able to duel it out with speedy. I'm not mad. I was just in the moment. Proof that this happens, I was punted by speedy too and I punted amar twice.

I recall Speedy making a 'spectacular' start like that in an MMS race not too long ago. I believe that one was the result of canine interference, perhaps this one was as well. It really distracted me at the start.

Wow, I'm not sure what I was thinking, didn't mean to start it early. I was busy doing stuff around the house, looked at the clock and realized it was almost 3 and just went right to the PS3. My bad mate. 👎 Catch you next weekend hopefully. 👍

So will the warm up be at 3:30 EDT & the race at 4:00 EDT Saturday, as per the first post?

Am I right, or what? :dopey:

I've been following this thread for a while. This appears to be a very fun group. The league I have been racing with the last couple of years, recently broke up. I don't get much enjoyment from single player in GT6, so I need to find a group of carbon life forms to run with.

I'm old and slow. And racing clean is always my first priority. Which is fairly easy when no one else is in the immediate vicinity. I have run Indy a bit and my best time is 1.43.8 and I see little or no improvement in the future.

Brandon, if you see fit, I would love to join this group. I should be able to race Tuesdays and maybe an occasional Saturday

While my neck is markedly long, I would never drive that car..

Unless it had a sun roof, and I was out of beer.

Sounds like you'll fit in just fine around here. And at 1:43 around Indy you should be right in the middle of the pack. 👍 Send me a FR on PSN (same ID as here) and we'll see you on track soon.

I plan to have a room open this evening for some practice with the 512 at Indy Road, I have a bit of a hard time with the car so I want to get some laps in before we do it for real. Feel free to join if you're around. I need to do some testing for our next car(s) first so if you join early I might be in another car. I'm thinking the next combo will be the California at Silverstone GP, probably on SH.

I'll most likely drop by; the 512 is giving me fits.

California at Silverstone GP. 👍

Probably be on the usual time. I could use some practice sorting that braking point for turn 1 always catches me out.

Also, hi Thlogan, catch you on track tomorrow hopefully 👍.

My best was 1:45.02. I may do just under 145 but I'm not making any promises. And as for turn 1, if you miss your braking point, it isn't gonna be pretty! :grumpy:

Was that on SM? Feel free to slap some SS on there to see if that brings you into the low :40's (my best last night was a :41.56x but there have been reports of :40's).

Just a reminder to everyone that we're taking the 512 BB on SM (or SS if you need them) to Indy Road Course. The room will open at 7pm EDT and qualifying for the first race will start at 7:30pm EDT. This car is a bit of a handful so I ask everyone to be patient and be cautious during the races. I've been caught out several times during what I thought was a benign moment, only to end up with the wrong way facing forward.

I'm kind of using this as a test to gauge how to handle some of the more powerful MR cars and what tires they should be on, so we'll see what happens. Also, be very aware of your speed going into turn 1 if you've been drafting, you'll be going in there with a LOT more speed than normal and it can be hard to judge. I say brake earlier than you think you should and live to fight another lap. 👍

@BrandonW77, are there any thoughts on track boundaries... i.e turns 7 (although I wouldn't want to try my luck going out wide here!), 11 & 12 (as with 7, using a wide exit outside the white line)?

Not sure if there are any others that are quite as inviting to being cut / optimized!.. other than turn 1, but then you'd have to be something really naughty there!

The only one I really question is T11, as the other two I am within the white line but thought I would raise it just in case!

Turn 7 is a risky place to go wide; not only can the ridged kerb there really upset the car, but the yellow paint behind it is really quite slippery.

Turn 12 is one I would like to know about as well; the exit there is the only place I feel tempted to go outside the while line.

There's no advantage to be had by going wide at t7 as you will suffer from a severe lack of grip, not only out wide but also when you rejoin the track proper. If you go wide at t11 you'll end up in gravel so it's only t12 that there could be any possible advantage going wide. I wouldn't think there is much to be gained by going wide there but there would be no harm in a clear ruling not to cross the white line.
