"Racing is a great mania to which one must sacrifice everything,
without reticence, without hesitation." - Enzo Ferrari

Welcome to the Ferrari Festival, a celebration of, arguably, the most iconic marquee in the automobile world…Ferrari. This club will be dedicated to racing a different Ferrari model each week in their purely stock form. Each week will feature a different iconic model raced at a predetermined track. The car/track schedule will be posted in advance so everyone can have their steed prepped and ready to race. Races will be run with tuning-prohibited to ensure all cars are completely stock, and will mostly be on stock SH tires.

This is intended to be a casual club that people participate in as their schedule/interest permits. Participation will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Each race will be held twice a week, once on Tuesday evening and again with the same car/track combo on Saturday afternoon, to accommodate drivers from all time zones and with varying schedules. We will feature two races each night with a short 5-10 minute break between them. The first race will be 12-15 minutes long and preceded by a short 10 minute qualifying session. The second race will be around 25-30 minutes long with a reverse grid from the finishing order of the first race.

There is no obligation to participate in both races for the evening. If you have to leave early you can attend the first race, if you show up late you can just participate in the second race. There is also no obligation to attend every week, or both days for the week. There are no points, but each winner(s) from the night will have their name(s) added to the Wall of Champions (along with the car/track combo they won with).

Thanks to @AboveMeIsCool for the video.

To sign up for the Ferrari Festival club please tag @BrandonW77 in a post in this thread and express your interest for Tuesday, Saturday, or Both along with your PSN ID and I will add your name to the list. Room Settings:
Aids off except ABS and TC
Endurance Race with Practice (15 minutes first race, 30 minutes second race)
Race for Real
False Starts: On
Race Quality: Standard
Voice Chat: Standard
Qualifier: Off
Mechanical Damage: Light
Visual Damage: Off
Penalty: Off
Boost: Off
Grip: Real
Slipstream: Weak
Tire/Fuel Wear: Normal
Tuning/Nitrous: Prohibited (only oil change, wheels/tires, brake bias and power limiter can be adjusted. Chassis reinforcement is permitted since it can't be policed)
Pitstops: None
Weather: Maybe?
Starting Order: Fastest First for Race 1, Reverse Grid for Race 2.
*NOTE: We are allowing some of the slower drivers to use SM tires in an attempt to achieve more parity. This is an experiment right now and all drivers are expected to use the stock SH tires unless I give permission otherwise.

Qualifying:
We will hold a 10 minute "open qualifying" session prior to the first race. We will not use the automated qualifier due to late arrivals not being able to join after the qualifier has begun (and a couple of bugs associated with the automated qualifier). To begin qualifying I will reset the track to clear all times. Once the track has loaded the session will be under way and after 10 minutes I will start the race. After entering the track please do not exit to the lounge as you may lose any time you have set. Other cars will be on the track during qualifying so please be courteous and don't hold anyone up if they're on a flying lap. If you are satisfied with your time and wish to park it for the rest of the session, please drive into the pits and press the "start" button once (this will keep you in the pits until the race starts, as long as you don't hit start again).

Rules:
1. Drive as clean and respectful as possible. Try to avoid contact with fellow racers.
2. No hitting, ramming or corner cutting allowed.
3. Accidents do happen. If you knock someone off course you should slow and allow them to regain their position.
4. If there is any doubt as to whether you will be able to cleanly pull off a pass, wait till another corner.
5. NO DIVE-BOMBING (to the inside OR outside)
6. Bump drafting amongst the lead two cars is discouraged. Drivers should make the pass when possible and NOT work as a team to open a gap on the field. Make your pass and let the cards fall where they may. This ensures the drivers further back have a chance to catch up to the leaders if they should make a mistake. Drivers further back in the field are free to bump draft to catch up to the lead cars.
7. Drivers are expected to keep at least 2 wheels on the track/curbs at all times.
8. Blocking is not permitted. You get one move to choose your line and then you must hold it. You can not swerve back to your original line.
9. Rage quitting is frowned upon
10. Please keep chat box and mic chatter to a minimum during qualifying and racing.
11. And of course please follow the GTPlanet Online Rulesand The Good Racecraft Guide.

Penalties:
I am not here to penalize people for driving hard or driving passionately. I understand that while we all try our hardest to race cleanly, none of us are perfect, especially in the heat of the moment. That being said, I also expect everyone to learn from their mistakes and I'll do everything I can to help drivers improve their racecraft. If any driver shows repeated instances of gross negligence or overly aggressive driving I reserve the right to disqualify them from the event or the entire club. Any contact or incident that is deemed to have been intentional will likely result in immediate disqualification from any future events.

Register me for the Tuesday event, please. Depending on the combos, I might pop in on the Saturday race sometimes too, if that's all right.

Is this first event tomorrow? If it is I would suggest putting it off until next week so you have more time to get people in.

Meant to put that in the title, we'll start next Tuesday April 22nd. Hopefully we can attract a few people by then. 👍

If EDT is the same as EST  , saturdays equals 9.30pm in my timezone  , well then I would love to join :D

:banghead: EDT, EST, GMT, BST, MEST
timezones are confusing at 4.30am GMT +1

EST = Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5) EDT = Eastern Daylight(Savings) Time (GMT-4). So if you are GMT+1 then, yes, the room would open at 9:30pm King Standard Time. :) We'd love to have you, but we might insist you use the clutch/h-shifter. :sly: I've added a time converter to the schedule OP to help clear up any confusion.

Sounds fun. I will try to join the Saturday Race.

👍 Look forward to racing more with both of you.

Seeing as I spent a fair chunk of my ill gotten glitch funds on buying every Ferrari in the dealership I would like to put them to good use racing you guys. Put me down for the Tuesday races please.

Looks like the bomb!

Sign me up for Tuesdays squire ;)

Already got you on there. 👍

Excellent. I believe you're still on my friends list from the previous series. 👍

If anyone's interested I can hold a practice session this Friday evening and/or Saturday afternoon.

Can we try to avoid the 20,000,000 Ferrari please. I don't have nearly that much money

If we do those (or the $15million GTO) it would be well down the road because I realize some people probably can't afford them. I'm trying to stick with the cheaper ones to start with so everyone can get their hands on one. I'll post the car selection 3-4 weeks out so people can have time to save up if necessary. Ultimately I'd love to race the 330 P4 but I realize that may not be possible due to its price.

Well a great way to earn money, is to run the red bull standard championship with double credit bonuses. I get about 2.5 million each time I win the championship. It's not the easiest thing to win however.

And you have to drive the Red Bull car. :guilty:  I'm quite happy to say that, excluding the Red Bull Jr., I have never driven one of those cars in GT5 or GT6 and I plan on keeping it that way. 👍

I hate them too, although I have a feeling I'm gonna have to sour my taste of the game to stay in it! :irked:
