@BrandonW77
the ferrari needs a lot of practise , took me 20min to get my first legit lap ,without spinning or messing up my breakpoints :mad:
great fun to drive though

Figured I'd move this over here so we don't clog up Bergele's thread. I'm surprised you have a hard time with the Ferrari. F430? When the game first came out I thought about doing this club but found most of the Ferrari's a bit unruly to drive so I didn't go any further with it. But it seems they are continually tweaking the MR's with updates and after both 1.05 and 1.06 (especially 1.06) I find them quite easy to drive now. So much so that originally I was going to have all the MR cars on SM tires but now I feel they are just fine on the stock SH tires (well, most of them).

If others are struggling I have no problem upgrading the MR's to SM, though I do feel they're now a bit too tame on those tires. However, my highest priority is clean racing so if upgrading the tires will give everyone a little more confidence going two-wide into a turn then I'll make it so. I want everyone to enjoy the cars, not fear them. 👍

Its all in your head mate! There has been no change really! :P :dopey:

On topic though, I think we need some targets to aim at! Got any times from Nurb Brandon? I will probably not get much practise in before the weekend (20mins here and there on the pad maybe!)

No, it's really not. I drove the F430 the day before 1.06 and the day after and it was quite different. I tend to think it's due to either better frame rate or reduced input lag, or a combination of the two.

I haven't done enough laps to know what a "good" time is, I'll try to lay some laps down this evening and report my findings. If my room is open everyone is free to join. 👍

I really like the sound of this but with time difference and the lottery of whether will I be able to get on the PS3 I cannot commit but will certainly keep an eye out on these days.

grip level is great with SH . I just have to pracitse a bit , because most of the time I'm driving cars 100pp lower .
no worries, I'll be competitive 👍:D

We'd be happy to have you whenever you're available. I'm guessing Saturdays would be best for you due to the time difference?

I think so, yes. Seems like there is 5 hours between us. I will keep a watch on this thread.

Yep, room will open around 8:30pm your time and racing would start around 9. Send me a friend request and if I see you online when I open a room I'll send you a message. 👍

Did about 20 laps tonight in the F430 at Nurb, best was a 2:12.44 but average around 2:12.7x. Did a full 14 lap race simulation and tires were low 9's all around but were starting to get a bit loose. Still, that :12.4 came on lap 10 of that run and I was still in the 12's at lap 14. This was with tire wear on Fast. Hopefully everyone can manage the tire wear ok, if it's a bit too hard to handle on worn tires we can switch wear to Normal for future races.

Should be shoving some laps in tonight to get a feel before Tuesday, I'll keep the post updated on my (no doubt slow) times.

As for tires, well, you know me SH is totally fine, you could put on CH's and I probably wouldn't mind that much .

I'm sure it's still not twitchy enough for you. I did roughly 20 laps around Nurb GP/F last night and only spun once and that was just because I caught the mega kerb in the final chicane a little too much. I'm sure you'll still be at least a half second faster than my time though, and if you crack the 2:10's I'll :( into my

Well, your 2:12.44 makes me :( into my  a little. Did a 14-lap run and couldn't manage any better than a 2:13.3 with most laps in the low 2:14s. I can console myself with the fact that those 14 laps were the first I ever ran with a F430, though, so with a few more dozen I can hopefully drop another second or (doubtfully) two.

Also, I never thought I would pair the words 'deeply annoying understeer' and 'Ferrari' but there you are. :odd: It's no doubt mainly driver-induced; I was clearly overdriving since after 14 laps my tyres were down to 8s with the rear left at 7.

Also also, not going to run abs0 with this -- after one massive 150m lockup into turn one, immediately turned it back to 1. D:

 No, I can't run the MR's without ABS. I tried, but they killed me many times. ABS at 1, suddenly they're no longer homicidal.

I hadn't done many laps in it either, not even in GT5. For whatever reason I seem to handle it fairly well. The only times I really had understeer was when I brakes too late, I find that braking early and gently entering the turn pays big dividends. I think my tires were still 9's all around, might have just ticked over to 8's on the rears.

The only part I really have trouble with is the Schumacher Esses. I know how to get through there, I just can't get it right all the time and it's really easy to unsettle the car through there. The inside curb on the left hander isn't bad, the inside curb on the right hander will kill you just for looking at it. :nervous:

I'll be joining for Tuesdays. Car isn't too bad. Braking points are earlier than expected. I understand you guys like using less grip tires but I would do so much better with the Sports Soft. Well, high 2.14's keeps me off the Wall of Champions...

See you on track with a red Bugatti Veyron :lol::lol:

well, where to start:odd:
I decided to practise a bit and made the big mistake and changed the tires inside the stint
to be honest , I heard about the pit stop bug , but I never drove a car which was affected that much .
to quote @amarynceos : "deeply annoying understeer "
my times where around 2.13.5xx to 2.14.000.
after leaving the pits and rejoining the track I felt a huge change from the first corner .
well , atm I'm able to drive constant 2.12.5xx -2.12.8xx
best lap so far was 2.11.824 with 75% fuel left 👍

the 7 round race will be a walk in the park for the tires , but for the 14 lapper I really have to practise my tire management :D:D
