Well in an ideal world we would have enough racer to host a fast drivers room and a slower racers one...

If we run 90min with no power penalties in the last 2 seasons i think we would had a way more spreaded. Grid and half grid lapped by the end of the race. How many drivers would have kept on after racing alone for all race and being lapped?

Sure having hp penalties sometimes feels unfair, this race maybe i could have battled with you and fla with full hps, but the system worked well in season 2 creating exciting races even when drivers reached -40hps... They are just so fast that they didn't even end up in last position with such heavy penalties.

One other way would be not having penalties but shorter races... Or maybe 1 short and one longer, but noone agreeded.

I'm always ready to listen to any and all suggestions but i doubt we can do much to make races more interesting for all drivers, and i stress ALL drivers...

In any case keep throwing out your impressions and suggestions they are all read and noted

A one make series would be kl, especially with tuning being allowed - it would help everyone to get the car handling to nearer each person's ideal.

Honestly, though, having a power penalty of -30bhp for the Monza race is really not a problem for me personally. I knew the deal when I signed up - I'd be penalised if I did reasonably well in races. I actually like that it's there, provided it does what it's intended to do - decrease the disparity in speed between the drivers. And anyway, the maximum penalty a driver can be given is -30bhp (about 10% of overall power, approximately) so it's quite reasonable.
Of course, there is the argument - should a driver be penalised because he or she is a good driver? It's a moot point, I'm sure.
yes but its annoying for us at the back - you go so fast and i cant understand how you guys do it LOL

Well, from a personal prospective, i think i would like it so we could tune the cars, and more importantly i do believe it might attract more people ?

Concerning tune allowed i can tell that a tuner vs one equally skilled driver can have a faster lap by 3 or more seconds... Tuning usually just digs ENORMOUS gaps in my experience.

Concerning power penalty it's 10% or less at max and it allows to stay more on track sometimes being almost an advantage allowing less pitstops.

Also super gt is about exciting close races, and uses even worst penalties in real life effects and it's stated in it race predicament ;)

Karsten is right. I'm not even a good tuner but I can make a car lap seconds faster. I would see if we could open up the aero, though. Super Gt is all about high down force.

btw i had a funny idea concerning a support race before or after our usual GT300, it involves 4 heavyweight FF cars, around 300 hps, and confort soft tires. Tuning allowed.

I had a run on one of the 4 cars with a tune i made myself (so probably it sucks lol) and i had a lot of fun going around alone on nurb, i was actually chuckling around while hotlapping!

i think the new force feedback is somehow more sensitive with lower grade tires; i could fell everything about the car behaviour and track bumps, curb so much more clearly...

in any case if someone is interested let me know :)

Ok i think later on today i'll be done with the commentary of race 2;

in the meanwhile i'll post a video of the aforementioned serie i tested for

i'm clueless if the lap is good, fast and if the setup is well done or not (probably not since i'm not a tuner) but i rarely had so much fun hotlapping :D

275hps, no turbo, tuned car, no aids beside abs 1 1400kgs Alfa 166, a car noone ever touches. Enjoy!

karsten - i will be honest, its not for me i am afraid, i can drive ordinary cars in real life - i want something thats a bit more scary - i drive like you in that video on the way to work each day, and my car sounds better .

Let go for gt500 season 4- one make lexus gt500 - enduro 90 minutes - any tyre choice - only settings allowed to be changed are wings- i will ll sign up now

Have a one make series with tuning allowed .

Pair up the drivers with one fast driver with one slow driver and let the fast drivers share the tune with their teammate.

Just an idea .

I miss the rain too .......

And the video is here, took a lot of time and result's not so good to be honest... i Recorded so much and cut out so much, i guess finding out interesting parts with all those pits was difficult...

I see what you mean, but i disagree to some extent; give it a try 275hp/1400kgs tuned comfort sifts, if you don't get all sweaty and excited all turns i'llbe surprised. BTW what car do you have to drive at work!? :D

i have many idea for series, problem is that online driver's numbers seems so LOW lately and it's so hard to get many people on grid...

maybe as sken suggests each team should be a slow and fast driver or 2 medium field runners
and maybe team only scores points rather than individual drivers
so ie sken wins and his team mate comes 7th - the points only awarded the team would be combined
maybe people who run at the back still might be higher in the championship and not loose enthusiasm
just ideas

maybe we should each run through the reasons we are in this series
and things we think might add to the amount of racers in it
might come up with things that would attract more to it

ie for me
1 endurance is great the longer the better but 90 mins is fine
2 knowing karsten looks after it all so well
3 all the drivers are fair and friendly
4 monday is a good night for me
against
1 although cars are balanced i would like one make series
2 tuning would be better - i still may come at the back but i like the idea that i can make it drive as i like it too
3 with tuning you could still have power penalties but the penalised drivers could at least work on setup to help

Good video Karsten, thanks for the effort.. was planning a 2-stop though :)

I participate cause i love the different gt300 cars battling it out on track, when well balanced that is like here. There is no other game which allows this with these unique cars!
Allowing tuning mostly makes the fast go much faster and the less fast only a lil bit faster so the gap widens..

I dont mind having up to 30hp less cause i signed up for it and i like this making it more competitive for everyone..
I personally organise a gt300-championship as well but this uses successweight (exactly the one that is being used in the real series) and tuning is allowed, but u cant level the drivers skills.. Not with weight, not with less hp, nor in a onemakeseries.. At least this is my opinion :)

Looking forward to Monza -20hp!

fast will always be fast is the end result i guess

true, but the less advantage you give a faster driver the closer the others will be;

reason for i made a tuning prohibited serie with hp penalties... it's the really only way i can think for slower drivers to have a battle with faster ones... sure the system starts to work well after 3-4 races but after that and until last round all should be great fun...

in any case all of you guys are welcome to make a group chat about a future serie based on the grid's suggestions, or any suggestion to improve the gt300 serie.

I actually thought about having teams made of one gt500 car and a gt300, withe the faster going to the best drivers and the gt300 to slower/newbies with a team score of (gt500 x 2 points) + gt300 score.

That would provide some extra action in the late parts of race when there would be lapped drivers and such.

Might have worked, but for being fun a full grid would have been a MUST

I feel bad for you karsten, just the amount of effort you put in to see such small grids is strange to me ?
are there many endurance series online ? i dont know but it doesnt seem like many as far as i can tell, so you would have thought more would race in it.

The reason i think the tuning helps, just from a personal view is that after the last series ended i had a couple of races with Roberte - he ran a gt 500 enduro series with 90 minutes long with full on tuning but just a hp cap.
I had a couple of round with them in that, and i know i am in general slow, however with tuning the car and spending time on setting up, i found i could keep up and was nowhere near as far behind the leaders as i am in our series,
and i think i finished 4th and 5th in the races i entered and they were full grids, and my lap times were only marginally slower than the leaders, whereas at most circuits we use in this series i am generally at least a 1.5 seconds a lap slower, although not so bad at silverstone but i seem to get on with that track.
I did have a few shorter races with another regular lot at the redbuill ring in several races in GT3 and GT500 and again with tuning allowed i could lap very close to the leaders pace.
Also it may be a better tuner than i am a fast driver, so i can get the car sorted to how i like it and how it suits my driving style.

By the way, i am not making any criticism of our series, its just that i would love to see a full grid too and its disappointing that its not, and after a few more races others may not want to join up. I love our series and look forward to Monday nights a lot, even though i know i am sure i wont win.

Anyway i think its a good thing to chat about as we may find something between us that might help get the grids full

welcome in, you are reasonably fast, just make sure to train so you get the right rithm while racing and grow the patience it's needed for passes in certain races.

probably you are a way better tuner than i am... i'm only good at tuning FF cars lol

maybe i am not a great tuner as such - but i am good at getting the car happy with my driving style and once that is set then just fettling it bit by bit and doing 10 laps to see each time. takes ages of fine adjustments but i dont think it would suit all drivers as everyone has their own style of driving, like in real life. i quite like it, but for some its pretty boring i guess making an adjustment then doing 10 laps to see the result.

i am not in the standings ? have i upset you ?

had a long practice run with vic yesterday
the impressa is so slow on the straights - it seems his original tryout to choose his car was made with a mistakenly higher hp, and no he is on the correct hp setting he feels he is way underpowered. in our run yesterday he was so slow down the straights that he is seconds per lap slower.
also without rain this season i cant see how he can do anything in that car as apart from lack of speed the tyres dont last very long either.
just asking a question - would he be allowed to allowed to change to a different car if he wanted to ?
i dont think he would leave the series but if it were me i would be not very excited about racing in such a slow car and we dont want to loose him ?
