bad news, my capture stick has ****ed up my notebook... i managed to record 3 small parts before it all boomed...

hope i can find a way to fix it, but i'm not very optimistic

Was a real good race yesterday , I made it hard on myself by not qualifying well and then having a bad false start .

Still think I had the pace to win but i seemed to peak too early in the race and my pace fell off near the end .

I still think the regs need looking at , the lexus cant even make an overtake cleanly . Its top speed is really poor .

Last season we had the fgta step in after round 1 at the request of oz and they made an adjustment to the specs .

I have been asking for this to be looked at for several races and we are at round 5 next week.

Is anything going to be done or should I just wait until next season ?

The mazda is going to get a -5 immediatly, might even get -10hps if it keep going like this. It basically got all poles and all fastests laps so far. I apologize for the RX7 was supposed to run with 5hps less from the start but i was fooled by Mazda driver's complains in the pre-season. Completely my fault, i knew i was right.

Beside that i think brz/lexus/imp are ok like this. I was on lexus last season, and yes it wasn't easy to make a pass.

Anyone thinks that BRZ is too fast too? I do not, it might be a bit faster but gnaws at front tyres like no other cars. I'll listen to all driver's opinions as always.

If there's not enough agreement on this i'll ask FGTA to step in and stop the serie.

Also seems the blance problem always lies on the RX7 that has braking advantage and weird top speed. As much all we love it it might have to get axed from next season on.

The rx7 with hp penalty is just horrible, another penalty for no reason? It's only getting fastest laps because the fast guys have been power restricted.

Sken i dont know how you did it, i looked ta the replay this morning and that early stop left you in clear air to pump in consistent low times, and you were closing in on the leaders near the end - remarkable with less hp -
i think aboe also had less hp but was not in the same car as me so i cant compare - as you also had a terrible start - and had to get past vic - if i had a hat on i would take it off too you -

also having looked at my off at 130R when Jonas was alongside - really my fault for giving him too much space - i ran wide - thinking if i held my normal line i would bash him off so i went wider and should have backed off as he was going to pass sooner or later - bit silly on my part as i lost my rythm for a few laps and was really cross for crashing, but again not his fault - i knew he was almost alongside going into the turn .

i have a roxio capture card but to be honest its so complicated i have only used it once - its not that old and has a lot of features and lots of wires - if you are interested Karsten i will post it to you Free of charge as i just dont think i will ever get time to edit a vide - let me know

Its a Roxio, i can check the model when i get home from work.
I brought it when i joined your series at the beginning of last year, but i used it once and realised the time it took to make a video - so its been sitting there unused since - so i would be more than happy to give it to you.

I mean, if you win you get punished so others can try and catch.. This race i was -10hp, Aboe and skeng -20 because they had better results before this race then me.

Tis race I only got pole position by 0,070 advance to Aboe despite him having more penalty. And skeng was third no?!
I only got fastest lap by 0,100 and that was in my final stint cause i had good tactics running low fuel in this stint. If the race would have been one lap shorter Aboe would even have won it..

Next race we are all three -30hps.. I think that if u change hps for the RX-7 it should happen after that race. Cause the first race when we were all equal Skeng won so..

And considering the overtaking, if Karsten and Tobias wouldnt have crashed i would have never won this race

We currently have some MIA drivers;

Canyon, ekke are 2 also rono said he won't run...

If i'm not mistaken this makes up for grab impreza, brz and a mazda.

If you chose mazda be aware that it'll get a -5hps on what written and might get another -5 if it keeps proving itself madly too fast.

I had 2 crashes which Costed me 20secs at max.. Aboe had at least one "crash" and Skeng took the extra pitstop..
I have had crashes in every race though and RX-7 is so slow out of corners..
But no problem if it does get -5hp.. I just think it is excessive

I am willing to wait one more round like Jona suggested before we make any changes .

At least that way we can see how they are with all at -30 hp .

To lose 20 secs and still win is a bit unusual though .

So the rx7 with less of a penalty barely gets fastest lap and is still getting nurfed? This series is already slow enough on the grand scheme of things. We can't even get into 6th gear with no tuning. Unless we up the power on all or run tuning allowed this will be my last 300 series.

Same impossible comeovers happened at monza for example and rx7 is always involved; jpw and fla showed it. Recovering 40s of crashes is impossible in other cars... And jpw did it like a breeze... Also fla was cruising all the time with 30s advantage.

This without taking in account drivers skills, i'm aware of that!

We'll wait for another week and make a decision then.

Btw if i was gavin i would train like crazy! He has a good track for impreza, +10hps and most of the grid on power penalty... Time for a win?!

I lost power Sunday and just got it cut back on. Sorry I missed the race, but those dang tornadoes just won't behave how I want them to. My house got no damage, but I had 2 trees down and countless branches. Nearly the entire town lost power. I heard 2000 people had power and 16000 didnt . I stayed at a friends house but he only has an xbox. As an aside, IMHO Forza 5 doesn't have the natural "organic" feel that GT6 has. You can't "feel" the weight like you can in gt6.

i dont think it can ever be balanced perfectly anyway - power is one thing - but all the cars have different handling characteristics , and adjusting power wont alway make the difference - especially in endurance - handling / tyre wear / fuel consumption all play a part-
You know what im up for - 1 make Lexus with 500 bhp max power limit and weight penalties for next season

To be fair, a lot of the time I recovered at Monza was from pushing too hard, thats partly why I was crashing(that and I suck)

Did a few Laps on the RedBullRing. Between 1min39 and 1min40 will be my pace i think! Low on fuel might hit some 38s.

Ok guys sorry for me being a bit "absent" lately...

Some news in random order

*I won't race on btcc today so i plan to make up points, power penalties and some training all welcome in, expecially @TazRacing

*I wasted many hours and yes my capture stick seems dead. That is bad, but our @Stephen Vann is going to send me his unused one so i'll be able to resume the video businnes 👍 kudos to LOGIC!

*i'll produce the video i acquired before the card died, it basically takes the race up to more or less halfway, it'll be good but incomplete... Better than nothing i guess

*i'm thinking and planning for the future of the serie (if we're going to keep up with GT300s that is). Many ideas are on the ground but i want to hear from all of you. The aim would be closer racing and bigger grids. What would bring more people? If you guys are interested i'll spill a bit of what i had on my mind... It came from talks with FGTA members, @SkengD other drivers on the serie that bother themselves to stay after races for a chat, other gtp friends.

*lastly, monday's race will be awesome hope some of the AWOL drivers will make a comeback....

ok first capture device was sent out yesterday and is now at the International gateway in France and will be with you on Friday hopefully i will keep you updated.

You know for me i like one make - no excuses that this car is better than that etc - this is only then driving skills that make the difference.

I like the idea as you know of tuned cars - and more power say 500 hp

I may be different than most as i love the racing even though have never won or been in contention to win but always feel that if i get everything right and dont make mistakes i might do.

Also i was wondering about putting up some prize money in the form of sponsorship - maybe calling the series MYBUSINESSNAME GT300 series might attract more grids if there was say £100 prize fund at the end of the season.

Also would people who want to race add to that with entry fee of 5 euros each - something minimal - to boost the prize fund.

I did think of creating prizes like a cup for winner and tshirts or caps for top 3 and team winners but not until things will lighten up here lol...

The request for more hps is quite common it seems, as is one make and tuning; i'll start thinking about cars and eventual problems.

For sure more hps and tuning mean goodbye to close racing. If we were to run some mini events after our monday races would anyone stay for them as test for a futuyre season?

Asking a fee to entry is a double sided thing... Same will get turned away by it, but those that commit will hardly miss a race... But it might also make drivers a bit too nasty...
