Lol no its very hard i totally agree, specially after dusk when the kerbs and track get a bit slippy as night falls, although in the impressa i guess thats not so bas as that tries to grip at everything.

Yes, that is true...i think i would make a lot of difference in the rain. i felt really slow comparing to the Garaya, or it must be me as driver:idea:
 
After having a day of thinking, i see karstens move as being okay. The reason why, is that it was the first time that he and i did a battle and it was on the first lap, we where all pumped up. But i dont wanna be in a situation like that again. I think it could have been anyone of us in my spot.

video will come tomorrow i guess... I'm having some weird quality issues... Namely the quality seems totally off for no reason O_o i'll keep running some test to understand what's up
 
First off I want to say well done to all lastnight. We started with 12 on track and finished with 12, not 1 connection drop (quitter) in sight.

My race was strange, qualy went well and i think i had the pace to keep up with the front 2 but a few problems threw me off, firstly when the race started i had no rev counter, tyre or fuel gauges on screen! This went on until halfway into my second stint! It came back after i pressed the start button in the middle of a spin!

Then i just kept the gap to the leader at a stable time but lost concentration on my own and made silly mistakes until i made enough to let the guys behind me catch up. And once Karsten got past i had to sit up and drive my balls off to catch him back up and grab 3rd on the final lap. Sorry Karsten :)

You did well mate, sadly i was on -10hp and mazda's too fast on the straights... just had to let you through graciously lol

Impressive after you had like 3 or 4 out or track excursions!

Lol yoj did really well flank as those 2 in front were well fast. To be honest when I watched the replay o thought to myself good old flank, keeping them new guys honest, great job you did
 
The acting stewards have decided that the appropriate penalty for the incident between Karsten and Filipino during lap 1 of the Spa race yesterday is a race warning + a 10 second penalty for Karsten applied to the final results of the Spa race .

We feel this is sufficient and Karsten will be allowed to take part in qualifying for the next race .



We have some new drivers who have joined us recently and I urge everyone to try and do a few practice races before the main event so we can get a feel for how everyone drives .

The incident with Karsten/Filipino was avoidable and I applaud Filipino for continuing the race and finishing it .

Remember these races are 90 minutes long , believe me you will have the time to overtake someone if you are faster than them , patience is important and remember to treat the other drivers how you want to be treated on track .

Can you provide me the race results at the net of the 10 seconds penalty? my ps3 is unloaded for video capturing and i would want to work out points soon.

Also an unexpected problem might arise, if i slip out of top 4 would i keep the power penalty for 4th or the driver being promoted gets it?

luckily for you the results were not affected .

aboe was 10.5 seconds behind you in 5th so you keep your 4th place .

Later on today, points, and video commentary will be done. I already managed the whole capture and editing part.

I guess we might get a close to full grid next monday? :)
 
it seems not too bad, but i see difference from when i record and when i edit...

It's like the roxio software somehow "pre-compresses" the video itself. Also i have not found a workaround the strange "damn too bright white color" issue in the software or on the internet.

I guess you guys will tell me how it look when it's up lol I do believe it's better than last video at least!
 
Actually Flank has a point, that we started with 12 and finished with 12 - all cars racing until the end, noone sitting in the pits, no one leaving and no Disconnections, must be the first time thats ever happened - WELL DONE TO ALL THAT TOOK PART
 
That is the reason i tried my best in the video i'm completing; all the drivers had a nice race (beside fili due to my mistake), all stayed on till the end, all were satisfied with the race and racing.

The video is going to be a little long this time for i took some extra time showing the grid, and tried my best to catch a bit of all racers... I admit i'm in camera most of the time, but it's unintentional :D

Also i sugest all drivers to send me their highlights... No a single one did this week giving me a fair bit of extra work... >_>

oh well, tonight/tomorrow morning it should be up!

Btw how did the quality look? i took a different approach but i'm not sure it's good enough to take 6hours of uploading and over 1 hour of encoding.... I actually uploaded it in a resolution higher than the capture card for i have tried to interpolate the video...

it should be available as 720p too altought i'm not sure the difference can be appreciated

For me it was very bright, and i am not sure the quality was any better than the last video ? see what others say.
 
The brightness is capture's card trait, there's nothing to do about it sadly, i looked all over on the net but seems there's no fix to it. Using the slider while recording won't help much beside making all darker but with brighter spots...

I should try and look for a different capture software if there's any around... maybe it's just a roxio feature and with a different software the "extra brightness" will get fixed?
 
i'll be around from like 8:30pm on... it'll be a dreadful race for me at -20 :(

I'm not fast enough to deserve HP penalties lol :D

BTW i was thinking for future seasons, how would this sound:

no more success penalties; hp variations do not stack from race to race
Promotion of performance only for those that end in the last half of grid (i.e. from 8th to 16th)

like:

16 to 14th +15
13 to 11th +10
10 to 8th +5

this would make races closer without interfering on the fastest drivers championship run.

Do you guys think this would work better than the system we have now?
 
Yes i have always prefered that rather than hindering the top drivers, in fact i prefer smaller decreases in power for the top 5 and small increases in power for the bottom 5

As just giving the slower guys more power it might max out on the power meter adjuster, im not sure which cars at our standard race settings are near their max power settings.

Would it not be better to for instance after each and every race
1st gets -5
2nd -4
3rd -3
4th -2
5th -1
6th to 10th no change
11th + 1
12th +2
13th +3
14th +4
15th +5
16th +6

each race result would accumulate from that.
these small increments would gradually change peoples speed and in theory
by mid season should settle down to a correct setting for each driver,

As in my view its crazy when we have one of the fastest guys Sken struggling at the back.
