Could you guys test 2 of the other cars minus 10 or 20 hp to see how they perform ?

It could be argued that some cars might perform better than others with the penalties.
Test the success HP penalty system?

Yes , for example test the rx7 at maximum penalty with your specs and test it with the specs before and the same with any other 2 cars
OK we will get that done before we release the final report 👍

Question about track boundaries. Is it two on the tarmac or two on the rumbles or 4 on the tarmac/rumbles?

Is there a maximum penalty? Or you just meant the maximum per one race? @SkengD

8.4.2.1. Track limits.

Track limits are always defined by the white if you can not see a white line then 2 wheels should always stay in contact with the racing surface. This does not include the red and white kerbs, only the tarmac.

So at the entrance to ascari at monza can you cut the green concrete as long as your right side wheels stay on track or do your left side wheels have to stay on track?

We had a bit of a confusing conversation with one of your test drivers. He explained it as four on track at all times. But the rules state 2 wheels. There's a lot of time to be gained or lost depending on the answer.

You can take 2 wheels up on the kerb, but the other 2 must be within the track limits I.E. White line.

Like any real world racing.

Ok so we can't cut corners like we do in the seasonals? Or any general OLR race? It's confusing because you say we can put two on the kerb but not past the kerb? Even though the rules state two on the tarmac and doesn't specify how far you can go with the inside or outside wheels as long as two are on the track. According to the rules we can cut corners like we do in the seasonals. Sorry for all the questions. Just want to make sure I got it right.

This guy is way too far off

This guy is about perfect

Sorry for the poor quality, the only one I could find :(

Ok so its two wheels on the tarmac as I thought. Sorry for my confusion. It was explained much differently to me before in a way that suggests both of those are way to far off and totally illegal.. Thanks.

FGTA CAR TESTING
PROVISIONAL REPORT
As the car testing is dragging out a little (I'm sure you appreciate we are busy and do have lives away from Gran Turismo, so is taking a little while) we are going to release this provisional report on the cars now, so you all know what will be happening on Monday, and once all the testing data is complete, we will release a final report after Monday's race.

You can view all our testing times and data so far here

Plase note, all lap times are entered in second's format to allow the spreadsheet to calculate the averages for each car on each track, and then also over every track (bottom table)
so:
A lap time of 1.00.000 would read as 60.000, 1.30.000 = 90.000 etc.

As you can see the RX7 is faster at every track with the smallest split time to the next car being .4 and on average is .3 faster over all the tracks.
You will also see we have tested it after dropping 10bhp (to 285bhp) and it is still in no way uncompetetive and will result in closer racing.

On this basis we are advising a 10bhp reduction to the RX7 ahead of Monday's race.

As you might have noticed the Subaru Impreza isn't too far off the RX7 (before power reduction) so we are doing a little more testing on that and will release our recommendation on that in our final report.

It would be good if all drivers could PM me after Monday's race with their thoughts on how the cars performed against each other.
May i ask . apart from speed , is the tyre wear being taken into any consideration with this ? as its endurance a car that is fast but with tyres that last only 5 laps has no advantage - likewise a car that is fast that handles so badly a crash is impossible to avoid having over the time endurance race - just wondered if these things will be calculated ?

That is actually a very good point. I still shudder when I think about the tire wear I had to deal with in Silverstone.

Yes. Both of us race in the STCC series (see @Scaniabebe for more). Harsk races with Humberside Racing along with Scania, whilst I race for Audi-Muttonfudge Racing as an independent team.

Excuse me? Harsk does not race for Humberside Racing... @SkengD does though!
I think people would have been wondering what drugs I'd been taking to have Harsk in the team

I don't want to get into it again. It's above my head now.

You recommended 20 less hp right ?

FGTA recommended 10 less hp

I am still waiting to see the FGTA's final test data then I will give my comments.

Yes it was considered, RX7 seemed no worse (over all 4 drivers) than any of the others for tyre and fuel life and is the only thing that has stopped us pulling the Impreza back too as that does seem to really suffer with its tyres.

Question about the 10hp off the rx7's. Do the current drivers with penalties now have to take another 10 off?
I would assume that they do, since they still have the points from the finishes. Also I raced skeng last night and his minus 30hp was faster than my minus 20hp.

I didnt even overtake you or come close enough to make an overtaking attempt ?

How was I faster ?

Coming online in an hour to do some testing myself .
