Next Monday LAST TEST RACE!

all drivers try to be there so that newcomers will get a taste of full grid battles.
We'll have 2 half races one dry (most probably at sunset) and one wet so that all drivers will get used to bad weather conditions.

yet to be decided. taking suggestions ;)

i was thinking about nur gp on rain and apricot hill at sunset/night but we can make a short poll

Personally I think apricot is a joke of a track. Maybe Indy Road Course or Laguna Seca for test rounds? Also is there a reason why you posted Fuji GT instead of Fuji F? I think the F version is much better since it has the hairpin.

I like Fuji F also. Eliminates the terrible drafting a bit. Which is why I almost refuse to race Monza. I hate that track.

RX7 x 4
IS350 x 4
BRZ X 2

Surprised to see no Impreza!

Can the teams confirm colours?

Me and jorn have Ferrari red.

I like the sound of those 2 👍

Also, thats a very likable track list

Nothing wrong with Monza, you do go round like a train if you keep the draft but it's different to most tracks in that sense.

Pinkies is pink of course --- also concerning tracks for test , we will all be in unfamiliar cars - bright daylight and dry is sensilbe for test races - we all need to get used to each other and the cars and not be worried about sliding off and not being able to see in the dark properly - ideally let us know asap as quite a few of us like me will have to learn the track and the new cars otherwise the test races have no purpose for me , can you let me know asap please .
Jsut thinking that Nurn is not a great idea for test in my opinion - too long and have to relearn it for no good reason as we wont be racing there -- can we just use 2 tracks we will be racing during the season ? anyway please let me know asap

Tracks sound good. I prefer the Fuji without hairpin, which is GT, so cool for me. Bathurst glitchy? In what way? Sarthe will imho be boring, we got too slow cars for such a track. Same problem might be with Daytona. What about Indy road course, if we wanna "go" to USA? ;)

Gt version flows way better, and the hairpin is a crash happy place for super close races like we have in the first laps. Concerning apricot hill... You can ask all season 1 drivers; it was one of the most interesting rounds.
Is there a team championship or any reward for having the most team points?
Indeed there's a team championship like in season1

Daytona road has weather/light, and the races i had there in btcc and othe series were great.

Nurb gp i said. Can't you learn a handful of new turns?

These testing would be for giving new drivers a taste of the weather change/light change while racing in a pack. Something you can't test alone while hotlapping.

Concerning the getting to know the car, well, after this test round starts the season so 10 extra days to get used to it right?

Hey Karsten,

so the GT3 series I was planning on running got canceled for the time being so I will have room again for another series. So I would be interested in running in your series. I have been following this thread from the beginning so I have a fairly good idea about it but some questions remain:

1) What is the date for the first race? I know you have a test race the next Monday and that would be fine. The weekend after that I will be on a trip and not back until Tuesday. So I am worried to miss the season opener if it is then which wouldn't be fair to other interested drivers.

2) The cars by the season 1 teams have been picked already, right? So we can select the cars we want. But is there somebody currently left without a team and wants to team up?

I could be wrong but I don't believe Fuji GT exist in real life. That hairpin is such a good passing zone also.

ok my dear

Are we talking about 100% surface water at nurb or like 50%?

We'll start with rain and track at 30%

The serie would start on the monday you would miss, but do not worry for there's a drop score you can use

I think there's a couple drivers that is currently without a teammate, cars available are brz, impreza and garaiya

The gt configuration from what i understood indeed exists in real life. And that hairpin is not a good passing zone expecially with a varied fiueld of cars that have different braking points and turn in lines. It's just a bottleneck/crash zone in my opinion, expecially first laps. I can already see someone misjudging the brake point on lap 1 with cold tires and smash half grid on that wall. Anyone out of the carnbage would get a 30 sec lead lol.

I didn't expect so much whining about it, so if the majority just want the hairpin version so be it. It just that in whole season1 we never had pileups and i wish we'll keep it so.

In short all drivers express their preference and i'll go with the majority.

I'm for gt.

We use draft real setting. Draft kicks in really late and not so strongly, we didn't get the dreaded overtaking draft train last season, if that is what concerns you.

i am happy with whatever tracks you decide Karsten, i was just worried that they would be ones i didnt know, but they are not , as for hairpins, we had them at monza and Lemans in the wet and never had any problems.
I think that as long as all drivers are aware that these are long races 1.5 hours when in the real season, and they are not 5 lap races where you have to force through at every chance , then we should be fine , so i really dont think any hairpin should cause a problem , once we all have the enduro mindset .

I am fine with gt but f is better imo

People who crash there are just impatient and or divebombing

I think the race are closer at f because of that corner no one is going to brake perfect for it every lap

I vote f for season 3

I think Karsten runs this series spot on and we don't need to turn it into a series where we vote on all sorts of things. What ever he decides I'm good with.

A few few series use votes and it just turns into a mess.
