[FGTA] Formula 1-SEE NEW THREAD!Finished

Well I hope were not racing this week as I'll be watching the Indy 500! Anyways, I'll be one of the first people to buy the Senna cars on Tuesday and I'll open up a lobby test them. I'm thinking soft tires & tuning will be the only way to go as the grip levels likely wont be up to modern spec without.

Well, I'd rather be on the action than watching it. Good luck out there, looking forward to watching it as well. But I don't know if the Sunday races are streamed too.
It will I think. I'll post link on race day.

They are, if we have someone available to do it, remember we need someone who is not racing and doesn't mind streaming, if not the race will still be put on youtube at some point 👍

Check here for all our race video's so far :D (don't forget to follow ;) )

Race Director Notes
Again, big thanks to all who attended. Of those who didn't attend, @jamiebeech did not notify me. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU REPORT ANY INCIDENTS YOU WERE INVOLVED IN. Good first race guys, looks like it's going to be a fun season:D. A drivers brief for Fuji will be released shortly. See you there!

Drivers Brief:
Fuji Speedway F
Sunday, June 1, 2014
16:00 EDT(GMT -4)Room Open

Laps: 44
Classifiable laps: 33
Weather/Changability/Surface water: No option available
Pit entry notes:
Pit entry is on drivers' right on the main straight after the final turn. It is a tricky entry, make sure you make your intentions clear by moving to the right of the white line on the exit of the final corner. Also, make sure you brake before entering the pits, as their is a turn that you must negotiate.

Pit exit notes:
You exit the pits on the run into turn 1. You may not cross the white line on the left of pit exit. Be aware of cars entering turn 1, as they have the right of way over you.

Penalties:
There are no penalties this round.

Other Notes:
With Fuji being a wide track with plenty of runoff, I suspect there will be a lot of side by side racing:D. As always, good luck, and see you Sunday.

Well tomorrow night will be the night that I try out the new Lotus, if it is released that is, and the F3 car too. I will be driving in leyba08s room if he decides to give it a try.

Later on the FGTs at Fuji MAYBE a little too but mostly the new cars. Around 8-12 PM EST likely.

So I've tested the 97T out a fair amount. Some observations:

-it can race alongside the Formula GT in the lobby, it can race with any car (not restricted like the Ferrari F1s)

-cornering speed is higher than the Formula GT

-straightline speed is slightly slower than the FGT but not much

-tire wear is still really bad, tuning is almost a prerequisite to get soft tires to last, we either have to allow tuning or use sports tires on stock because the wear will be too much

-its wheel spin comes in a tame sort of way...remember the Nissan GTR GT3 car from the GT6 prologue last summer, its like that when stomping on the gas out of corners. Wheel spin is FREQUENT and unstoppable though

-lap times are very close the FGT but the driving experience is 100% better

-It has a great sound

-it has a low to the ground high speed look in cockpit or above

I'm not sure if the F3 car can race with any car, I'm assuming it can so we could have an interesting series with restricted Red Bull juniors and Senna's F3.
