Vic, what happened ? i saw you mid race, faded out going round the track, then you were parked in the pit lane ? what happened ?

My race.
Does not do much to say about my race.
6 small touch on the wall and 1 damage touch the wall :/ but im happy 0 spin and 0 big crash. Very good for me :) I prepared it that I will finish 5 But luckily logic and pubes are forced to go to the pits in the final round. And I came to the finish third. Nice race guys and im waiting next monday.

For me a great great race.
No way i could match the pace of the quick guys in training, so i went for RM fronts to run 3x 30 minute stints.

I Qualified on RS all round and managed 5th place so was happy with that.

I knew from training that the turn 1, turn 3 and turn 6 right handers would ruin the front left, so i had to ensure i did not push hard in those corners, but i could push in turn 2 turn 4 and turn 7 left handers harder.

From the start i knew i would be letting others past me who were all on RS, and was happy to do that, i did not want to run less than 1.38s as i knew this would ruin my strategy.

After the first stops for everyone else i ran in 1st place for a short time, but SRT was mega mega quick, so my plan was to be looking around 5th place at the end of the race.

I stopped at 26 minutes in and went again RM fronts with 75 liters of fuel and again set off trying to run slightly slower so i would last until 60 minutes, but again a few times i got caught up in little battles as the quick guys on RS would come up to pass me after their stops, i tried to not slow them down too much, making room for them on bits of the track that did not slow me down to much, but i was running nicely, dropping to 10th on my second stop at around 29 minutes to go.

I fueled with 83 liters, which was enough to see me to the end with 5 liters to spare.

I just ran 1.38 1.39 and my calculations seemed to have me then looking at 3rd by the race end, which was great, although we had a few drop out, so i was sad about that.

As we came to the final 13 minutes i had front left on 6 and thought i had just enough fuel, and in 3rd with a 30 second gap to 4th place behind me.

at 10 minutes the fuel started looking too low, so i did a bot of coasting as i had the gap behind me.

at 6 minutes to go i was panicking, fuel was going to be critical, and then watching being me to try to see how far back pubes had closed up, and trying to work out if the leader Fili would cross the line before 90 minutes and make an extra lap.

In all this state of calculation, i forgot to brake at turn 2 and bashed the wall quite hard, by then pubes had closed to 15 seconds and i then know i had to pit for fuel, and loose a few places or stay out and chance it and probably loose many places if i ran out of fuel.

So with 2 laps to go i stopped for 20 liters of fuel, and saw pubes and kossu go past.
I put on softs, but had only 2 laps to close them down and was just not enough.

However, a great race by Fili, Kossu and Pubes, and of course Chris.

I really enjoyed it from start to finish, and although running slower than everyone else, i managed to maintain a threat to the guys at the front throughout, and had i not under fueled by 12 liters, my 3 stop strategy would have given me 3rd place. But i am not at all disappointing, its great to see fili and Kossu up at the sharp end.

Notes.
Vic ? what happened, watching the replay i have to say that really in my opinion you should have moved aside when Karsten was trying to Lap you, i would have been very upset if it had been me, and in general i have always found you very fair Vic ? there was no loss to you if you backed off and let Karsten through, and it did cause Karsten to crash in frustration, and thats not really fair.
Then you parked in the pitane entry. I was worried in case your house had caught on fire and you had had to make a run and escape, but an odd place to park Vic.

That was a pretty awesome race imo! No connection dramas, everybody mostly behaved and started justt about on time ;). Congrats to @xChris93_ @filipino1234 and @kossu for the podium :).

I feel I had a great race, my 2nd 4th position this season :D. Was a great surprise considering my qualifying pace was shocking (later finally reaching low 36s in the race), so to start from 9th, not a bad effort :P.
The first 10mins were full on! Mass train of everyone staying quite close together and eventually spread out. I was able to make an early move on @Pedroeol and @Stephen Vann to try and move forward and stay in touch with kossu and @azidahaka not to far ahead.
I found after the first stint that I was able to hold faster consistent times than most through my whole tyre life (36s/37s), closing back in on the whole lead 5 just before they began first pit stops.
All went well for the first 30mins, taking on a little more fuel and losing my gain on the front, again gaining a little back through the stint and finally reaching 36s on lower fuel finally, 2nd pit stop was able to rejoin a couple seconds behind kossu. But few laps later I found myself spinning on the final turn giving it a little too much, getting damage from the wall I had to put, luckily just up the road.

The next 50mins was a push to try and recover what time I had lost with an almost back-back pit stop. Unfortunate to a few there was a number of dc's all around the same time, which saved me some loss. I had come across Karsten at some point with a third or so remaining, I had a little more pace but I could be patient to pass, unfortunately he lost it through the fast dog leg of the kerb, didn't mean to pressure you mate.
I knew I could stretch out my stints a little more than most and also was kind of a good thing to be slightly out of sync, it would mean that id have fresher tyres for the end. Sure enough 10mins till finish I had to make a final pit stop for fuel, reaching 6th on rejoin behind @SkengD. I was worried Logic and kossu wouldn't pit again with 8mins to go, although kossu did over the next few laps. Riding 4th and Logic in a bit of sight and seemed to be gaining, I look at the time with 2mins to go and he pits! I could've grabbed 3rd but my gosh yet again fuel has beaten me, too short again.
I decided to pit with Logic knowing there'd be two more laps, rejoined 7th was disappointing. Would you believe it though, kossu, skeng and Karsten in 3, 4, 5 pit last lap for fuel, and I could sneak away back into 4th.

What a finish!!!!

Was a really fun race for me overall, despite some small lame mistakes, I made a lot of ground from start and encouraging for my race pace. I just need to work on my strategies more! I've loved Tokyo since the first GT's and find it easy to get into a groove, so that was really enjoyable to be around the pace this week :).

Ruined my own race by crashing in the pit lane at the end of my first stint , then I had damage my last 2 stints which were the longer stints .

I had to use the medium tyres one stint and it didnt help much .

I cant wait for Grand Valley so I can get a weight reduction , the main problem with our new weight penalties is if we make a mistake we can kiss our race goodbye .

I think that is why we saw Eol and Agro give up yesterday , the weight already puts us on the back foot especially on a tire wear track like tokyo . Once you crash then you might as well just call it a day , no way you are going to catch up .

I just like to complain really so don't take this post too serious , this has just been a tough season.

Yes i agree its hard for you guys with heavy cars, but just think about all the rest of us, who will almost never win and almost never have a chance of winning, for us its well exciting to fighting near the front.

I think it is just hard to find the right formula .

In the previous seasons the tire wear was not an issue with the power penalties .

Chris still won the race yesterday and Agro got pole last week , they have found a way to still be fast with setup changes while it seems Eol and I have struggled .

I really enjoyed the race last night, first sorry that I monopolized the room during 20 minutes. After the qual I rushed downstairs to have dinner and to be back in time. I totally forgot about it…..

Congratz to the podium, well done:tup:

My qual was the worst of the season, I never been so slow on a track as on Tokyo, was it me , the car of the settings, I do not know? But I was not putting any pressure on myself. Even starting at the end, doesn’t mean anything during the race, everything can happen during a 90 min race.

I was trying to get a steady pace and will see what the result will be. The first laps didn’t start great; I touched the wall on lap 2 and back on lap 3 the opposite side. I found my peace after lap 12, I saw that Vic had some troubles and TNT. At a certain moment I passed Pedro who was sideways.

I must say that Vic was not exactly parked on the perfect spot, quiet dangerous at the pit entry.

I do not know what happened to Pedro, Agro & Tnt if you guys had a dc, then it is really too bad. If you just abandoned due to a less good result that would be very disappointing.

At the end I finished 8th with exactly 1 lap behind, I was glad with it and look out for Suzuka :gtpflag:

I left because it's pointless to try and pass someone who insists on driving the course with a damaged car.
My first bit of damage came from a driver trying to pass in an area that should have never been attempted. After these two incidents, I started loosing my concentration. Didn't want to be in the way.
I believe eol left because of me. An altercation going into a corner. Not sure what lap. Logic, take a look if you can please. I'll take a penalty if it needs.

Well, i am not looking, lol, no incident reports, so no real issues.

WEATHER REPORT FOR SUZUKA is 10% Chance of rain.

I will post the Race results and new weights tomorrow before Noon UK.

It was a pretty weird race yesterday, lots of unexpected things happened and from my point of view it was a really tough race to manage tyre wear and the understeer that the extra weight brings. I decided to go pretty aggressive with my strategy and race flat out then pit once the tyres were destroyed (similar to the apricot strategy). Inevitably that made me vulnerable from attack by the mainly lighter drivers on longer stints, but I would prefer to have good pace at the end of the race to attack. Simply because it's more fun

I'd like to say first that I was gutted for @SRT DK Racing, you deserved the race win mate as you were pretty much untouchable. I don't like to win races caused by disconnections but I'm sure you'll win sometime soon at your current weight mate

The start of the race looked pretty fun with Fili, Karsten and Kossu fighting through the field and Logic on his 3 stop strategy making me sweat :scared: because I'd have to pit 4 more times than him  It was pretty unpredictable then and the race was shaping up really well, so it was a shame that a few people left the race and some people's races ruined by incidents further down the field caused by frustration.

I've got to say though that @filipino1234 was my driver of the day, he really made me work hard for the win and it would've been a great fight to the finish if you hadn't spun the car at T1 :( Your consistency was great and it's really good to see you developing over the course of the championship after showing your initial pace at red bull ring

Looking forward to Suzuka now! My favourite track on GT6! :gtpflag:

Told you post race on gtp, and psn.

But ok, vic blocking when about to be lapped for like 3 laps instead of letting through. Around lap 24 on.

Vic parking and not ghosting in pit lane entry, drivers had to avoid him to pit and at least 2 collided with the car.
