OK new system in :D reading disks :D doing updates :D

I will open a new room when I get there as some can't get into Caine's room 👍

I will post again once open 👍

Been waiting ages to race taken out big time 1st turn quit by accident so lost out could of restarted fukin fuming all this weekend in preperation and cant even race! Im out.

I messed that race up completely.
Last chicane round 1 missed my braking mark and hopefully only scratched niftys paintjob going straight for the barrier
Acrually managed to avoid that barrier which i am still baffled over
Lap 27
For some reason i find myself infront of nifty towards rouge and knew rs was either passing nifty or close to.
Because the onboard view has no rearview i was looking back using l1 and found myself on the grass when i let go.
major crash which took nifty with me. really sorry nifty
rs buddy hope you managed to get away alive

after i didnt crash anyone, after i didnt do any stupid mistake, with 3 stop strategy, softs at the end, i think also would able to pass RS and Stiggy like Mikey did, i got disconnected. 2 and a half lap before finish... the first thing i got in my hand was the controller of the ps3, i destroyed it. Guys i think i finish playing with this game, i had enough, i couldnt do a race without falling out. I also got disconnected in le mans and in brands, luckily only at qualifying, but this time i really have enough of this ****.

Congratulations for everyone, those fights were great. And the gtr's pace was unbelievable too 👍

GTR did better than expected in the race, got a good start and had a handy lead when I pitted, I had planned to pit on L14 but forgot so pitted on 15 instead. Quick push on softs and pulled 8 seconds on RS before putting the RM's and rejoined just ahead of Caine who closed in but then had to pit. Then it was a case of getting the car to lap as fast as possible to cover off Caine which just about worked, It was really intense moments when you see 3 seconds sliced out of your lead repeatedly.

Woulda had 3rd, but had to crash 7 laps to the end. Really pissed at my self:yuck:.

Ah well, 🤬 happens, that's racing.

Congrats to Nin and Caine, you guys were flying:bowdown:.

Tough race, I'm exhausted.

After getting a head start on the beginning (BTW, I think I'm the one who hit you on T1, clark. Sorry.), I lost control on L4, and completely went downhill. I tried to take advantage of the situation and put on RMs as I repaired the damage. Kind of worked, since I could then race the latter half on softs. Sometime after pitting on L23, I managed to get back in 2nd because of TK and nifty's tangling and pretty much cruised to the end.

That spinout at the Bus Stop was because my headset had ran out of batteries and I tried to pull it off my head (didn't really think that through :P). I got on qualifying pace in order to make up for some of it, but didn't really help much.

I do feel for you, but like the remainder of the race proved, its not over until its over. Others picked up damage during the race and had to pit, so you had a chance at fighting for a podium in the AM's.

I thought I had chosen the wrong strategy when I was about 30 seconds behind Ninners after like 10 laps, but the gap to the rest of the main pack wasn't massive, and I had got the mediums out of the way so knew I would gain time later. But, for the first time ever... I don't think I had one major mistake... the last two stints on the softs were literally all quali laps trying to catch everyone, and slowly but surely I managed to fight my way towards the front.

After Nin's last stop I was about 4 seconds behind, but I still had to stop one more time. 14 laps to go, after pitting, 30 second gap. Was gaining about 2 seconds a lap, and was praying for Nin to make a mistake, but he didn't :(

It wasn't until the last 2 laps that I noticed how marginal I was on fuel... and I wasn't sure how far the cars behind were... I decided not to pit, hoping I could make it last. But that was the fight for the lead over. Managed to get the gap down to about 6 seconds I think before I had to start fuel saving.

Either way, 10 seconds behind is better than I had planned, some solid points for the championship! Lets hope they continue!

Yes, it would definitely be in your best interest to get rid of that habit. You never know what's going to happen next in racing.

Just for your peace of mind, any incidents like that will be looked at by the stewards and if required penalties handed out. There is nothing we can do during the race, but we will act on things after the race. Doesn't exactly help the victim, but not a lot else we can do.

...and was praying for Nin to make a mistake, but he didn't :(
Ironically enough, that's how I got my 1st GTP win. Was being hunted down by a faster driver on RS and I was RM and the gap on the last lap was 4 seconds but he spun on dead tyres and finished 20 seconds behind, I was thinking about that moment.

1st race tension was high left loads of space in 1st turn the 1st start got up into 5th then had to restart 2nd start 2 punctures n cockpit damage :(

I don't know what to say really... My biggest (and probably the only) mistake was in lap 27 where I was unable to pass my crashing teammate safely... I was thinking: "Ok now get to the right", but my freaking hands kept to the left and I crashed into TK and got sandwiched by nifty who was right behind me and had no time to react... It was one of those dumb moves which ruin your whole race...
@HMilan21 It's such a big shame that your connection can't keep the race going, I feel for you :(
@Tk_Hansen I had big suspension and engine damage after that, but everything was my fault as I didn't react correctly :banghead:
@Ninners @gtpcaine Wow. First off Nin, big respect for your quali lap and race pace, and Caine, great great job and good strategy

I was hoping for a podium finish, but racing doesn't forgive any mistakes, so I have to be happy with 4th place :ouch:
See ya all at Ascari...

Thanks, thinking about it.. I could have quite easily lost those important 10 seconds at the start in the traffic.... I think my strategy was faster over the race distance, but you need the quali position to match.

My fastest lap during the race was a 12.2 I think, I know for most of the final stint was in the 12's and low 13's.

If I remember correctly you are running on a wireless network? Is there any way you can get a long enough Ethernet cable to connect the PS3? Even if you have to remove it after the race so the rest of your family don't trip over it!

EDIT

Bah double post... long day, sorry.

I guess what was the game changer was the massive changes I made after my first lap on the track.

Put in the same damper and roll bar figures from the WEC 908 and put a decent ride height and random springs and it worked and the only thing I did after was lower the DF a tad and raise the car and ran slightly different springs.

I hope you're running at Ascari, need you to take more points off Stiggy.

Is there really nothing you can do to try to improve things your end?
Don't want to lose one of our best :(

starting on the Mediums was definitely the quicker strategy, I lost so much more time than you in traffic after having only just been able to even host the race, then a difficult qualifying, just couldn't find pace or just generally just "get in the groove" at all, was unable to clear all the AM's in the opening laps and was lapping behind some of them until they pitted.

I started to get into the groove about lap 10 and was able to get the pace going better and make my RM's last a couple more laps, once I was on the RS I was driving like quali laps every lap, before my 2nd stop Milan and RS come out from their pit stop just ahead of me, managed to get past Milan, but couldn't quite get close enough to RS before my pit.

I was then behind Matheus and he was lapping really well and made me think I was lapping worse than I was as I couldn't catch him, I started trying to go faster and faster to catch him, but still couldn't, noticed that even though I couldn't catch Matheus, the time to Nin was dropping quickly, and there was a group of cars we were catching (hoping one of them was RS) a little way ahead, so kept going praying RS was in that group.

Lap 40 I got my 1st sign that I was catching RS in the Bus stop, I just caught his name accelerating out as I was entering, the chase was now truly on :D as I drew closer in the same circumstances a couple of laps later I saw Stiggy's name just ahead of RS and got my 1st sniff of the podium, a lap later I was on them, and next lap past and pulling, so just brought it home knowing Caine and Nin were way too far away to have a chance.

Such an unexpected result, I am still in disbelief

Well done to all and Congrats to the podium finishers :gtpflag:

Well, just to put a downer on things for you, I think your podium here has now given you 3rd place overall... so added championship penalty!
I think I just fall short of that, but won't make much difference, but if Ascari goes well, then Monza is going to hurt :ouch:
