I'm a little confused by this. How come HMilan was classified as 3 laps down after his DC at the end of the Spa race, but Caine is still classified as 3rd and on the lead lap? Seems a little sceptical heading into the final round. Surely Caine should also be a few laps down right?

Just a thought. :)
Where did Caine finish 3rd? Monza, silly me. I don't think I understood what you meant. I got it now. :P

It depends on which lap he DC'd at.

Well the simple answer is, it was still a little early in the season, quoting from the R&R:

If "a disconnect happens after 75% of the race distance, it is at the discretion of the host if the race gets red flagged. It will be taken into consideration the position of the affected driver at the time of the disconnect, their position in the championship, and how far through the season we are. IE a championship front runner disconnecting from the lead at the penultimate race will result in a red flag. However someone in last position in the championship would not."

As we were on the penultimate race in the season, and the DC was a lap or 2 from the end, the stewards decided to call the flag at time of DC and award the position.

Although, the DC rules (and perhaps some others) will be being reviewed before season 2.

Well, I'm totally out of the fight for championship then. Not meaning that I would let anyone win too easy at Nurburgring.
Luckily my disc reader works again, the only question is: how long :scared:

If it's an overheating problem, try keeping the console in a relatively ventilated area and have a fan blow directly on it. That's what happened to me back in the first race at Motegi; overheated and everything froze up. I use a fan everytime I intend on doing these endurance races and I haven't had an overheating problem since. I only had to struggle with disconnections that put me out for half the season. I don't know if it will help but let us know 👍.

I think its more the fact milan was 2nd in the championship and im 3rd. We disconnected at pretty much the same race distance, but with two seperate outcomes. This one having huge championship implications.

If ur ps3 is out of warrenty open it up and clean it out.. it makes a massive difference also get into the disc reader and clean the 2 reader lenses with nail polish remover. Luckily i can pinch my gfs lol works a treat :)
