I don't understand why you guys (Niko & Rob) are in AM.
There are two solutions:
- You both are too fast to compete in AM.
- I am too slow to compete in Pro.

I say this considering our pace which is pretty much the same.

I think it is to be expected that the top of the AM class and the lower end of the PRO will be pretty similar from time to time. Especially since AM drivers could be more consistent in a race and thereby be faster than someone who did faster laps in grading. :) I do believe you are a bit faster than us though and the ford seems to be the car to beat at bathurst which makes us look fast.

It's looking like the pace of all drivers is pretty equal, so there should be some great racing this saturday!
@Mini Stiggy Got down to a 56.5... I could match your 56.2 on a perfect lap... I just hope you couldn't achieve a faster time so far :scared:

If only I was in the race, I found I was very consistant in the Viper and remained in the 57s for 9 laps. On mediums I'm running high 58s to low 59 all this without getting any damage. I haven't done a low fuel on fresh tyres since half fuel and doing a 56.5.

Always up to be a reserve

Like @Phouchg said, the bottom end of PRO and high end of AM are going to be very close. We had to draw a line somewhere in the list of signups to separate the two classes. Ideally we would have 3 classes: PRO, PRO-AM and AM. However, I would rather have 2x16 lobbies than 3x10 lobbies. Plus finding stewards and suitable hosts for all lobbies can be tricky. But its definitely a possibility for next season.

Also, don't forget you are still adjusting to a new wheel. It does take time to become fully accustomed to it.

Again, like Phouchg said, some tracks will favour certain cars over others. From our testing while speccing the cars, the Ford was the quickest car, but we had the top 4 cars within 0.075 on average between 5 drivers at various different types of circuit. All 10 cars could lap within 0.175 of each other on average. Some cars are easier to setup and drive fast out of the box, like the Ford, others require more work to achieve the same laptimes.

I really hope we have made the right calls while speccing, but if one car does dominate, that driver will be receiving a lot of PP penalties, so it will negate the advantage if there is one.

Thanks for all this explanation 👍

@gtpcaine I just wanted to repeat what I said in the practice lobby the other day: sadly I'm going to miss the first two races, because I'm on holiday. Have fun everyone!

Dang, it looks like you won't dominate till Round 3. How fast have you gone at Bathurst?

Hiring any reserve driver? Seems like a lot of them have been practising a lot for this race so I bet they'd love to fill in for someone. :)

Edit: Or how do reserves work in this championship? realised I haven't really read anything about that.
