A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: ''Ugh, that's the ugliest baby I've ever seen!'' The woman walks to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her:''The driver just insulted me!'' The man says: ''You go up there and tell him off. Go on, I'll hold your monkey for you.'

Im 🤬 terrible at suzuka... Especially with a controller.... And no hardware store in my area has the right bolts as their are metric size and they dont know the conversion.

What? Thats crazy mate, have you looked on ebay etc. Did the staff there not even suggest anywhere for you to try?

This wheel is confusing me, with some cars its awesome, the handling feels superb. But with other it just doesnt seem to turn the car, i get hideous amounts of understeer, so i turn the wheel more and the front tyres just go red and i dont turn at all. Its not that im going too fast because im going slower than i would with a controller, its weird.
And then some cars feel like they have a steering rack from a truck, i have to turn the wheel over 180 degrees before anything happens.
Have i got it set up wrong or is it just a case of getting used to it?

Thats impossible to answer over a wide range of cars but Ill try and help.
I was useless with the wheel for a few days and my number 1 complaint is that you have to turn the wheel too much to get the car to respond. Its nothing to do with the 900 degrees or anything like that. You have to relearn braking and accelerating as this affects front grip. Oversteer and understeer are only half to do with tuning, if you brake while turning (with a brake bias toward the front) it will produce oversteer, same for lifting off the gas to a lesser degree, if you accel you get understeer, this is weight trasfer in action.
sorry if you knew all this, its all about practice mate.

Yeah it is just practise i think, im trying to drive like i did when using a controller, im starting to get the hang of it though.
Just got a 1.28.1 round suzuka

Thats the difference, technique. Seeing as you recognise that just keep plugging away, no idea how you will do if you use the wheel later but either way you will be back to your lightning ways by next weeks race. After Suzuka totally ditch the controller for gt5 ok :)

The setup makes a difference, i will have to change them all for the wheel. But the difference between controller and a wheel is huge, after 10 laps i was going round some tracks a second faster than before. It brakes harder and faster, turns in harder and faster. But less stable under braking and turning.

Nah just use the wheel during the race it helps. And turn power steering off as it causes the wheel to jerk in hard cornering.

:)
The wheel makes for a much better experience, now all you need is a vibrating chair, 3 50 inch LCD tvs and a racing suit and you are there :)

Don't forget a cup holder for your BEER! :)

Lol, try not to drive drunk like Runfast :)
I cant remember my power steering settings at all, must have done it at some point.

Everyone- Clear your caches and re set routers where possible, ask other internet users to STOP during the race :) If they are bigger and tougher than you, resort to bribery đź‘Ť

Not looking forward to this one, over this past week of practising, i have come to the conclusion that i really dont like this track anymore

I can´t make it today. I have a concussion due to some idiots at the last B-Ball-Game we had.
1 against 0 Situation I´m going for the Dunk (not really it´s just a Layup xD) and midair I feel someone pushing me from behind at my hips => I do a Summersault and land on my neck/head.
=> I could try but my headache is soo big and my neck hurts while sitting
=> it´s better for me to skip Suzuka.
=> Sorry that I can´t do my Stewarding

Pagey- Come along mate you never know! I dont like suzuka either.

Sakery- That guy sounds like a div mate, you could try and race though. Ill leave it up to you bro đź‘Ť

Report:
Knocked myself off first corner. Maintained Smithaz's pace for a while but lost a good 10 seconds on 2 stints. :(

Was held up a couple of times by traffic but it was pretty mellow after my first corner off. A lot of different tire strategies made things interesting.

SM= Unlucky again, hope you didnt kill your wardrobe mate, at least you get more points for a disconnect now :(

Flood- As above but without the wardrobe :)

Rich- I got shafted at the first corner I think I ended up last. An unamed person crashed through everyone again!!!!! Angry face.

Big congrats to smithaz, he is going up in the rankings for sure now!

Updating OP

Race Report: Had a terrible time with a wheel. Got caught up in that first corner bull:censored: again for the 3rd race in a row!!!! Then i was last and i had to build up pace until i caught up to flood at my first pit stop. Then it all went smooth till flood knocked me off at 130r somewhere between lap 10-20. Then i experienced massive lag at lap 21 and retired. To whichever steward reviews me dont watch past the point that i pulled off at the first corner. Thats me retiring.

I had a decent race, got away cleanly after first corner and then built a large gap, then lost that by going off/spinning. Then after first pit stop i realised my fight was with mustard and he was going for a 2 stopper.
After 2nd pits i needed to catch mustard by 10 secs or so to keep in the fight(20sec gap), got held up by a bit of traffic failing to yeild but i got by intact, then lost an extra 2 or 3 secs (50sec gap) as i did an extra lap on softs as wasnt sure what mediums would be like.
Came out from 3rd stop in 10 seconds in front of mustard which was good as i knew it was gonna be close, then pushed to keep the gap for a few laps until mustards tires went off and i could jsut bring it home to take the win!! :)

Race report:
This is not my favourite track, so i was very surprised when i qualified 2nd. At the start i went too cautiously into into the first corner and sandman took me on the inside. I knew i couldnt keep up with smithaz, so i didnt bother trying to catch him. My race was with rhy, who i was determined to beat so i could catch him in the championship. Sandman spun not long after and spurgy was right up my trumpet till he span.
Then on lap 7 i put it into the gravel trap and spurgy was behind me again. I then pitted on lap 10. I think i span a few more times and i completely lost confidence in the car, i was lapping 2 seconds off what i knew i could do. Then at lap 16 i was loosing the will to live ha by myself, going slowly, spinning a few times.
But i pitted on lap 21 for mediums and came out a fair way down the field, but as people pitted i went up into 4th i think it was. I knew rhy was on the same strategy as me so i just concentrated on keeping the car on the road.
Towards the end of the race i thought i had a comfortable gap back to rhy, but i span again and when i looked behind and saw his name above a silver car and a little bit of poo came out.
He was about 4 or 5 seconds behind so i had to put my foot down and brung it home in 3rd, which i am very happy with :)
Congrats to smithaz :)

Results and standings done
stewards, rankings, fastest laps pending.

Well done guys loving the race reports (lol at pagey having an accident, now you know how I feel) :)
