Haha, thats good (I think) most of us get nervous before the races, we operate it in quite a high pressure way for qualifying etc. it really builds up nicely and adds to the drama :D

Without wanting to condesend I will make a suggestion. I race very carefully until the cars are roughly single file and then try and pick them off one by one. Drafting on the straight is the safest and watch them in the corners and try and beat them on the exit.
If you are on your own at any point just treat it like a time trial and try improving lap times. Brake early if your folllowing a group of traffic into a corner to avoid the concertina effect and never give up! People spin out and overwork their tyres in the latter stages of a race :D

Hi Brett,
Firstly I hope you and your family are feeling better...I loved the note you wrote about the (retired driver) and also thank you very much for mentioning Trish as she has been there every step of the way. 👍:cheers:It just goes to show that you are never too old for Gran Turismo :gtpflag:

Hey Electric. Thanks mate, baby is better and I am on the mend :D
Glad you liked your notes
Its been a pleasure sir, your a true gentleman and thanks for racing with me. Join us for practice sometime if you feel like dusting off the old FGT. Give my regards to the trouble and strife ;)

Any predictions for the race on sunday?

Spurgey- I will do us a pit strategy tomorrow :)

I dont really know I guess spurgey, mustard and pagey podiums. I should be around mid pack somewhere, maybe we will end up racing (although you are a bit quicker) :D

I have to worry about 2 race series now in a row (same day). Long Sunday. :nervous: I know I should have stuck with just FGTC. I sure didn't feel like racing again after the Nurburg race.

Well I did think you were biting off a bit much but see if you can manage it I guess. If it gets too much you will have to choose :nervous:

Turn them off if you wanted to but you would see why they are on *cough* No downforce *cough*

Strawman Andy
I dont get why you allow all those aids? Id like to join but all those aids kinda put me off

Its impossible to get it until you have tried it with a full grid, awesome racing. We have plenty of new guys vying for the last spot anyway now andy.

Oh and (downforce cough cough.....robbed...cough...by .........F2010/07.... splutter....wheeze...)

Maybe he or one of t'other drivers could fill in for Flood while he is absent? :)

The update 2.04 helped improve the handling. I dont like skid recovery it just means your throwing the cars in rather than driving perfectly

You dont really need them anymore and would make racing closer

Edit: ok berty will it says open spot & i thought id ask.....

Ellis- No no, we have three guys on sunday going for the last place.

Andy- No, it doesnt. It works better this way, closest/fastest racing I have ever had online.

Andy, at Nurb 24h it was almost impossible not to spin once every 1/2 laps even with SRF on, with it off, it would just be a pointless race. And at all the other tracks it would be difficult too, and thats before you even bring in a full grid, one touch and youll spin off, just pointless and not enjoyable. And anyway, no matter what aids you have, "throwing it in" to a corner will NEVER be faster than perfect driving. And it wouldnt make the racing closer, it would just increase the gap in times at spread the field out because it will be more difficult.

Ok. But with srf on people can throw it and get away with it and be faster especially with fastest cars like these and le man's cars and the red bull

What spurgey said, you can still easily spin an FGT with SRF on anyway. Its way to complicated to explain but after 32 championship races its the best competition I have had online and I look forward to each weeks race :D

We all hate SRF in normal cars but it works with these, as testified by the success of the FGTC.

Yeh, I get your point, its easier, but because these cars are so tricky, and were here to have some fun as well as trying to win, you would just end up concerntrating on going round the track, rather than concerntrating on racing, and it still doesnt mean that anyone can go fast in it, you still have to have a good setup and you still need to drive well to win.

Alright but I think less is more, less power more close racing. Less assists more side by side, less grip more action. It basically focus on the driver and what they can do, rather than what he/she & aids can do together. Like F1 is a lot better since the ban of tc & abs and less power, just seems like a basic fact

Yeh, but in F1, less downforce made the racing worse, but adding in aids like DRS and KERS made it better :)

In the case of the FGTC, your point is wrong. Many of these conversations exist on the GT5 section though if you would like to discuss it there?
Remember GT5 is just a game even with all the aids off :)

I love DRS! :D

So your saying that 2005-2008 had lots more overtaking than 2009-2010? Because there were more overtake in f1 when there was less downfore :) there were no really action except for when it rained when f1 had aids and lots of downfore
