Hi you all,
I still have some few doubts about the way these two championships work. (manufacturers and nations)

This questions are not related with the possibility of me being there (i'm a verryyyy far way at this point  ) but as a follower of the sports I would like to understand the rules better.

So here it goes:
1) There are two finals (manufacturers and nations). Can the same guy be in both?

2) If a guy is eligible for both, can he choose?

3) For the nations (at least for the Asia region) I've noticed that there were some limitations in terms of people per region. At least, as I understood, there were more people from japan with better rankings that some of the guys over there, but there were only room for 10 guys from japan.
Do you know how it's going to work in EMEA or America?

4) For the manufacturers there is any kind of country limitations? Or if all the winners for every manufacturer were from Portugal, we were going to have 15 portuguese drivers over there?

5) for nations we are going to have 30 drivers in the world finals, 10 from each region, that are selected in the regional finals. For manufacturers, there are going to be 45 drivers, 3 for each one of the 15 manufacturers. So, are we going to have 75 diferent drivers there?

6) don't you think that all there rankings and so on should be completely public and acessible for everybodY? maybe they are but they have far from an easy access lol

Thank you in advance for helping a n00b who is trying to understand.

In some cases yes, in some no. The rules in some countries say that drivers cannot accept an invitation to both, in others they say that they can. There's no particular standard.
2) If a guy is eligible for both, can he choose?
Yes.

For Nations there is a cap of ten drivers from an individual nation in Asia-Oceania and the Americas, and three drivers from an individual nation in EMEA.
4) For the manufacturers there is any kind of country limitations? Or if all the winners for every manufacturer were from Portugal, we were going to have 15 portuguese drivers over there?
It's one per manufacturer per region. The fastest guy in Europe, the fastest guy in Asia and the fastest guy in the Americas will make up the three-man driver team for a particular manufacturer, with one apparent exception: the rules regarding Italy's inclusion in the competition seem to mean that if an Italian driver has more points for a manufacturer than the top Asia or Americas driver, the Italian attends instead of them.

There'll be 48 drivers for manufacturers - three for each of 16 manufacturers. That means that there will potentially be a maximum of 78 drivers there, although some will be able to drive both Nations and Manufacturers, reducing that number.
6) don't you think that all there rankings and so on should be completely public and acessible for everybodY? maybe they are but they have far from an easy access lol

First of all, thank you @Famine for taking this time to answer my questions! Big up!

Still have one question:

But there are country limitations for this or not?
Imagine the in Europe the top driver for each manufacturer were from Portugal. Were we going to have 16 Portuguese drivers representing the Europe, one per manufacturer?

So has the official list of people attending at Madrid been published already?
No. Given that the team has had to contact around 60 drivers - the first choice 30 and numerous backups - from 20 European nations, determine their eligibility, and, pending the driver accepting the invite, secure flights and accommodation for them, it wouldn't surprise me if this isn't finalised until the middle of next week.
The season sheet isn’t something people should go by.
Indeed, it's more of a guide. The rankings only tell you who finished where. It doesn't tell you eligible drivers who've accepted the invite and are able to make the trip.

I believe that the country restriction only applies to the Nations Cup.

Yeah but everything has been finalized as far as I know. People received tickets and stuff, so why no public information? :/

Some people have. They're the easy ones. "Finalised" means when everyone has.

I'd expect a post/page on the GT site either over the weekend or early next week with all 30 names and faces.

Thankfully there isn't, I believe all 16 of the Asian Manufacturer finalists are Japanese and 7 of the European manufacturer finalists are Brits, nice to see that people who were done in by the country cap in Nations have an opportunity to shine in Manufacturers

Was TCS allowed in the asia final?
No, everything was banned except ABS and Driving Line. They were going to ban the latter, but ultimately allowed it. They even wanted to limit ABS to weak, but didn't follow through on that because you can't create a lobby that 'limits' a certain assist. It has to be banned entirely, and ABS off would obviously have been a clown fiesta.

Was there any reason for leaving Driving Line allowed?

ABS off would be fantastic in races, but we need load cell pedals for that first. 💡

I was just going to post this here! :D
I hope they do something like that for the american final aswell! And also the two world finals!
I wonder what sport channel they choose tho if they do corvage for each region. Since people have different choice of sport channel.

It seems they have a deal with Fox, which is quite a big channel and exists in a lot of countries. There's a Fox Sports Brazil, México... If they're transmitting the EMEA final to México I really don't see why not trasmit the american final aswell. :D

TNT is the main esports channel in the US I think, though I'm not really sure. I haven't watched tv outside of live sports in a long time. As for ESPN in regards to esports, As far as I know they only show the Street Fighter EVO finals, and thats only on ESPN2. But maybe FOX did pick it up over here too. One thing is for sure the nations finals streams absolutely have the production quality to be on tv if they wanted to.

The EMEA venue layout definetly looks high budget and that's only a regional final, could the finals use a FIA building as a venue?

Good morning,
the website for the EMEA final isn't live yet?

Come on guys.... I'm curious! :D

Before you ask that, do you have some snacks or even popcorn in your house? Also do you have some turkish black tea as well as cookies at home? If you don't have that then you are not allowed to have a look on the website xD
