@Famine and @SlipZtrEm hard at work on the race report here at the finals.

:gtpflag:

Race 3 at Monza:

The rolling start was a joke with the leader having immediatly a 1.5sec gap... ridiculous.

Igor went to the pit stop twice... He put the hard tires on his first stop and then instead of carrying with those til the end he stopped again to change for the mediums, losing 3 places (was 6th when stopped for the 2nd time and finished 10th).

Edit: Albuquerque just asked Igor and he thought everyone had to stop twice...but that's only for the last race. :/

The fact there was only 1 qualifying session for the entire tournament shows how unfair the competition looks. If they wanted to make only 1 Qualifying sessio, they could have all drivers put in 4 different Q laps and those 4 laps would decide their grid start positions for the 4 races (Q lap 1 = grid race 1; Q lap 2 = grid race 2; Q lap 3 = grid race 3; Q lap 4 = grid race 4).

Those who had a bad or sub-optimal Q lap 2 days ago, have to start from behind and work through the pack until they can try to make a couple of points in the last race. :banghead:

Huge failure of coverage here not to update on current points for drivers and analyse what they need to do in final from a points perspective.

Edit: and no sooner do I post this, that they go over it. Still not going into what they need to do in final to win though.

Looked like a weird start again with some big gaps. Come on, this isn't e-sport ready...

You sure that isn't just because of some people being on softs, some on mediums etc?

Plus, some drivers started in the chicane, so obviously there will be gaps.

Anybody want to start taking a running tally of the passes between Cookie Monster and Latkovski? :D

EDIT: Dangit, as I posted Hizal had a bit of a slip and dropped back. You can do it Mikail!

EDIT EDIT: And he's in the lead!

EDIT EDIT EDIT: See original statement, jeeeeeez.

I haven’t played since I got my Platinum Trophy in March but I’m curious about something.

At various points around the track there are yellow markers. What are these exactly?

My first guess was traditional sector markers but they don’t line up with the track map.

Something to do with penalties?

There was a big gap between P4 and P5 with both starting on mediums. But that could indeed be due to the chicane.

But that's not satisfactory either. They should just implement a real rolling start for events like this. I appreciate the PD rolling start for sport mode races to reduce first corner pile-ups bit here it is inadequate.

Penalty zones

How do they function? Can you only slow down for and reduce your penalty timer within these zones?

The game automatically reduces your speed as you enter the zone, for the period of time your penalty is. Not possible to manually reduce the penalty

Ah, that’s different to the system that was in place when I was playing (lift and coast to decrease penalty timer).

Thanks for explaining.
