FIA GT World Championship [S2] | Aboe and SK8RBOI Are Champions!Finished

\And for number stickers, you guys have free choice. Only 8 drivers out of 32 will have a number anyway so it's not a big deal 👍
FWIW, I would have chosen #38 for my car if I had the capability with my car. :)

@Brutaka, if you're opening a room up, I'll be joining you in a while.

Racefan88 will not be able to host the AM pre-season event. Brutaka will host the AM lobby.

I'll join sunday for a probability of 90% (I'm in vacations just for this weekend so I should be coming back)

ps : I'll join the practice too

Sorry for my poor english

If someone want to come and practice with me my teamate and some other guys from the AM class you are welcome. search the Red bull ring and no SRF and you will find it.

I'm really gutted that I can't be there for the pre-season race. But still want to give you something to look forward to. 2 onboard videos showing hard but fair GT racing on the Red Bull Ring:

And a couple of tips for those with a little less experience:

1) This will be a race not a time trial. Sure, you should work on your lines to and get to know the track to get a good pace. However, consistency is far more important than raw pace. It doesn't help you to push and go .5 secs quicker if that results in an incident every 10 laps. That won't win you the race. Be consistent and incident free.

2) The race is 1h. If you haven't done online endurance races yet, please consider that 1 hour is quite a long time. You don't need to force passes (don't bomb dive!). Take your time to look for corner entries and exits where your opponent has weaknesses and exploit those. Set your move up a couple of corners before depending on your opponent and track. Also remember that we race with full damage. Avoid heavy contact as that will lose you a huge amount of time.

3) Prepare a strategy: We are using 2 different tire compounds so strategy becomes quite important. How many stops do you make? How long are the stints going to be? Is it better to run less stops on the hard compound or more stops on the medium compound? These questions depend on your car, the track and your driving style. There really isn't an universal answer and different strategies can be equally quick (last season's Suzuka race comes to mind where @Litchi and me were running completely different strategies and it got very close at the end). During testing you should run stints on both compounds to get an idea about lap times, tire wear and fuel usage.

4) Track your opponents strategies during the race: You are not always racing the guy right in front of you or right behind you. Your main opponent can be on a different strategy that plays out towards the end of the race. Know who you are actually racing and what they are doing at all times. Alter your strategy if needed (heavy traffic that might lose your time might trigger a sooner than planned stop). Don't fight a lost fight. Sometimes it is better to let a driver on quicker tires past and avoid losing time in a fight when your ultimate opponent is somebody else.

5) Most rounds have a sprint race with reverse grid. That means quick guys will be at the back slower guys in front. These races had a lot of overtaking last season but were also somewhat chaotic during the first couple of laps. The division of PRO and AM should already minimize the pace differential but still be careful in the sprint race.

6) Make it easy on your host and come to the room with the right specs. The specs will be checked but it is a much smoother and quicker process if everybody is prepared.

So those were a couple of tips especially meant for drivers with less experience in general or little experience with longer races. Hope that helps somebody.

We will have two seperate lobbies one for pro one for am. If you ever want to practice however with pros before a race weekend it's fine. Want to practice today this afternoon? I haven't started practicing yet:)

I'll be on after 6pm PDT

@ Litchi, Joao71 and I would like to switch places. We both have agreed and he should be sending you a PM.

I'll have to wait until as early as Friday if I'll be able to take part in the Pre-Season race on Sunday. I've requested next week off for Vacation and I'm hoping it went through. There's also a hillclimb racing event in the area and I've always wanted to get involved in racing even if I have to do it as a marshal. But I probably need some experience with racing with potentially a full grid of drivers online first, so that might have to take precedent.

EDIT: To whom should I send my Friend Request(s) to re: PRO Room hosts?

Hi guys,
would love to join the pre-season race but will have to miss the 1st round as I am away to another country for a wedding :)
Are you speaking about the pre-season or the 1st round? pre-season is august 17 and 1st round is august 24. I ask cause you filled the atendance list as "attending" so i'm a bit confused.

Are you talking about the RBR?

This is the perfect track to have a 1st race at in my opinion. Very simply wide track with wide turns and geat track width and simplicity. This place seems like the perfect place for us to get to know each other without getting heavy damage before we go to Monza the possible damage blood bath Rd.

AM drivers, I believe our target times are 1.30's to 1'31's, and anyone running slower than 1'33's as their slowest lap is not going to have good race pace over a distance of 1 hour. My personal target is to not run any laps slower than 1'33's as of our FP1, or maybe 32's after tonight's FP2 session...

FP1 Session:
PB - 1.32.4xx - JoeTruckV8
PB - 1.32.6xx - TnT-2000

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-As this point I would like to ask the organizers a couple of questions plz:
1. Will the organizers split the AM & PRO Driver fields into 2 lobbies, but all the AM Drivers in 1 room, and all the PRO Drivers in a different lobby?
2. Will the organizers split the AM's & PRO's at 8 Drivers each and put the fastest 8 AM Drivers with the fastest 8 PRO Drivers in lobby 1, and the 2nd slower 8 Drivers from each class into lobby 2?

Event informations update. It'll be updated in OP#2 as soon as CodDemon will be awake 👍.
If you have any question, please ask!

First and foremost, make sure that your car is in the exact specs before the Qualifier starts. You will not be allowed to race if your car doesn't meet the correct V2.2 specs.

Qualifier: The room will be set using the "in-game qualifier | race alone | start from pits". You will have one out-lap and 2 flying laps to submit your superlap.
Please don't try to cut / go wide on corners in order to gain time. We will know your pace checking at the race replay anyway and if your Q time is really doubtful, you are subject to a penalty.

Formation lap: No false start check procedure as we use the rolling start. So don't be stressed on your throttle. Please make sure you run your formation lap at the correct pace (62mph / 100kph) from the beginning until the end of the lap. If you're damaged during formation lap, just say "damage" in the chat box, at this time, a 2nd formation lap will automatically occur to let you the time to go to pits (keeping Racing Hard tires) and rejoin your position on the grid in the 2nd formation lap. We hope that won't happen though...

If you disconnect during the formation lap, a restart will be called by a Steward. Everyone will leave the track and wait for the disconnected driver to rejoin and restart. If it happens once more, no restart will be called.

Green Flag: For this track, the green flag is the regular start/finish line. When the pole sitter crosses the line, everyone can go full throttle, not before. Jump starts will be penalized. Be extra cautious in the 1st corner.

Tires rule: You are allowed to change for Racing Mediums tires at any time during the race. However, you must run you qualifier on Racing hards tires. You are not allowed to go in pits at the end of the formation lap in purpose to change for Racing Mediums. You are allowed to go to pits from the end of lap 2 only.

Track limits:We will be harsh on track limits. If you're found guilty of multiple corner cuttings or going wide you won't be penalized BUT stewards will already have a close eye on you and you will be the 1st driver that they will check at Brands Hatch's race. So be careful please, keep 2 tires inside the white line at all times and you're good. However, to cut or to go wide in purpose to avoid an accident is highly encouraged. Make sure you know the difference between to avoid an accident and to go over the track limits deliberately, without any reason.

Pit entry: Make sure you enter the pits properly, do not crash in walls or, even worse, in an other car.

Pit exit: Make sure that the track is clear before to take your racing line. Penalty won't occur if you're found guilty of a pit exit accident because this is the pre-season race. However, you will be harshly penalized if it happens during the regular season.

Race results: It's the Steward's job to take pictures with any material they want (camera, phone, screen capture recorder, etc) of the qualifier page plus race results page. Litchi will need them in order to complete the "Results & Standings" boards. Also, he will need the time of the 1st lap (formation lap) of the pole sitter of each Division (Pro and Am).

Stewards notes:

- Please read the IPO.
- If you're new to online racing, we highly encourage you to read the Online Racing - Comprehensive Guideline. Also, please read this post.
- Please make sure that you have read all our rules before competing.
- We enforce the fact that to wave in purpose to warm your tires during the formation lap is strictly prohibited!

- YOU must add the Host as a PSN friend. It's not the Steward's job to do it, but yours and yours only. If you don't add the host before the room to be open, you won't be allowed to race, the Steward will not re-open a new room just because you forgotten to add him on PSN.
- If you have ANY question, please ask on the thread. No question is silly!
- And most important, enjoy your race.

We are allowed to race with our setups, right? Another thing. The specs inform 1315kg for the Audi R8. Is that the maximum or the standard?

Yes, this is not a "tuning prohibited series", setups are allowed. However, you must follow the specs. It means exact hp and weight, no more, no less. If you don't use hp unit, just adjust your power limiter to the exact percentage which is stated in the board. For pp's you're allowed to ±1pp depending of your ballast position on certain cars. However, it doesn't apply for your Audi, this car must be exactly at 601pp.
