I'm in Canada. Sunday doesn't work for me this week due to heading back south - vacation time is over :(. I'll re-read the OP and consider it. I'm not huge on Turbo'ing race cars.. so I'm not sure if this is for me yet!

Ok. let us know soon.

I have never tested it on GT5 or GT6, what is the difference on a Turbo race car vs a non Turbo race car assuming they have the same BHP and torque?

Great testing on Friday, first race win for the R8 (by doc on Daytona), this is a quick car, the quickest on Daytona for both 1 lap and race distance (tested by m1, doc and Nem) @690bhp. However, it is still the most difficult car to setup and finish a race without falling off the track, I don't think it will do as well on the more twisty tracks.

More pictures has uploaded to the gallery section of ORDL website:

Last pre-season tonight, car regs should be ready by Monday and you guys can pick your race car for the first 5 rounds of this GT3 Championship.

Mike: You may want to rethink the 3 set of soft tire restriction to make sure that it accomplishes your objective. On a track like Willow Springs it was necessary to use 4 sets of tires with the SLS. The restriction forces every driver to use Medium Tires for one stint which negates the fast car penalty of needing to start on the harder compound. I don't know the tire wear for the tracks that we are using for the championship but the issue may pop up again.

Yeah the sls was eating through the tires. Mine were getting around 7-8 laps per set

I managed 3 stops with rm, I think about 10-12 lap limit, the softs were more like 8-10,

The medum tyre is about 1.5 - 2 seconds slower, (same for hard ish)

I was helped with some free air, and a few safe laps to try and extend the tyre,

Yeah my tires reached the end of there life when we were in a 3 way battle which caused me to drop right back then i just spent too long trying to conserve sets

I will have another look into it.

Willow Springs is one of the worst for front tyres, other track are not as bad, good job that we only used it for pre-season.

Base on my testings/pre season races, the SLS is not using any more front tyres than other cars.

It was 'possible' to finish R2 with 3 sets of RS in the SLS (and other cars too), Yo did it with 3 sets of RS, I did it on RM + RS + RS, both of my RS done 11 laps and I think there were 5 and 6 left on the front, so I could have done 13 to 14 laps on that set. I also finished R1 15 laps with 1 set of RS (with 2 and 5 left on the front at the end), ok I understand every drivers are different, and not many drive like an old lady.

The point I am trying to make is: this is an Enduro event, it is different to a sprint event, one must not drive flat out all the time, or the tyres will burn out very quickly. Tyre management is part of the game, it is how and when to push these tyres. I drive at appox 90% most of the time and make sure the front tyres don't get over heated, it takes a long time for them to cool down.

Same reply as my last post.

In addition, you had the fastest lap but finished more then a lap down, I am sure you will do well if you slow down just a little and keep the car on track more often. As I said many times, its a long race, take it easy:tup:

Didn't realise i was that quick. Especially as yesterday i bought the car about 5 minutes before the race

Yes you are safe, again take it easy a little and your lap time will drop. And keep an eye on other cars, left right and behind too!
Am I able to race then? I only did one pre season event but wasn't planning on competing until you came to the PRT page.

im guessing i have to do a pre season event?

Yes, read all the Pro Series threads on the ORDL website first:

http://ordl.co.uk/forum/viewforum/3335478/m/17733324

If that does not put you off, register on the website, send FR to m1racing and come to do some testing with us tomorrow night and we will take it from there. This Pro-Series may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like long tactical races and have the time to do testing, you have come to the right place.

Yes, and I have already send invite for you to pick up your race car tomorrow. The only concern we have is the times you went off track last night and how safe when you re-join the track with other cars around, but it was a new car and may be a new track for you, I think if you take it easy a bit, you will do very well.

Hi Guys!
I was in the practise room tonight and I did a bit of racing on Sunday at Willow. I was using my DS3 on Sunday buy I just bought a driving force GT yesterday and I am getting to grips with it (Sorry for the crashes)! I will be doing a lot more practise before sunday!

The event is now full, 15 sign up (pick up car)already, that is the maximum we can have on track, for connection and lag reason. We were originally aiming for 12 to 14 cars on track and the responses from our members are much better then expected.

You can still sign up/pick up a car as reserve driver, you will still get to race on most rounds, very often there are one or two places open each week due to people not attending.

At these reg's is the BMW M3 GT the car to beat?

Not sure, R8 has the fastest laps on last weeks testing. SLS is the most popular. Base on out testing across a few drivers and tracks, all cars are within a few tenths, and no one car is dominating the pre-season.

Looking forward to this one, it's not the hardest of tracks but there is a few tricky sections that can lose you a lot of time.

Does anyone have target times to aim for yet?

If anybody is struggling to see the replay's without it freezing your PS3 try this - as soon as you press to load the replay press your PS button and keep moving left to right. It loads up everytime when i do this.
