For now, In a GT3 event there will be 6 cars to choose and 10 would have to be duplicated
Audi R8 LMS(colour)
Audi R8 LMS Playstation
Audi R8 LMS Ultra
BMW Z4
GT-R
SLS(paintable?)

If I chose to use the R8 LMS in white, 10 AI cars should be different colour R8 LMS's. that's if the SLS GT3 is not paintable. A program to de-tune the Ford, ZO6, ZR1 would be welcome but, I'd rather the AI use coloured Z4's, SLS's, GT-R's and R8's to fill the grid if there are no other official GT3 cars in the game.

Really? I fully welcome the ford to the GT3 grid. Looks the part, and common sense means they've already changed the car specs to fit the GT grid if they're advertising it with those cars.

They were also showing an Audi R18 and a Scirocco Race Car along with the field of GT3-cars, so that doesn't mean anything. If I had to bet, I would put my money on the Ford GT staying completely unchanged.

It will have a reason why the Ford is always out of focus or hidden behind the other cars.

But I agree that, as the new GT3-cars (Z4, SLS, GT-R, Audi R8 Ultra) will not be 100% balanced anyway, you can probably make the Ford GT and the RM'ed Corvettes to fit with the others in your own BoP.

I think, it's pretty obvious that there's only 3 different GT3 cars in the game.

three?

R8
Z4
SLS
GTR

... that looks like four official to me...

It was perfectly in shot during the Gamescom video. The scene where the audi starts to skid out. You're probably right about the specs being unchanged though.

Scirocco was there for extra track movement, while the R18 stole the show in that scene at apricot hill

That's what I'm saying. Just make the adjustments to the "Matech GT1" to make it a "Lambada performance Ford GT3"

I'm still waiting for word if AI will use RM cars. I'd welcome the GT/Vettes as well. Who knows, there are still more cars to be revealed and we'll be surprised like we have been these last few days. :)

I doubt they will be balanced at all. The cars, as they come from the factory, aren't balanced in real life either. Only after the SRO's or FIA's (or somebody else's) BoP adding ballast and air restrictors do the cars become somewhat even.

PD has never added cars with air restrictors before or balanced cars before, I see no reason to expect that to change.

Yeah hopefully RM cars are included for AI this time. I'm also hoping if you buy the anniversary pack the AI will use those cars too.

I do hope for a couple more GT3 cars by launch at least and I have a feeling that we might see a couple more as there's still at least 60 cars left to be revealed for GT6.

I really don't know. It is typical PD to tease us and not get anything bonus out of it.

Still, a thread somewhere rumoured that an Aston Martin and true Ford GT3 would be added. Here's to hoping 👍

..oh and the Bentley and Jaguar would be welcomed extras too, though the Bentley hasn't competed (to my knowledge) and Jaguar wasn't very successful.

We have Ferrari F1 and Le Mans cars just need a GT(s) car. And that lonely Diablo race car needs a friend. The Aston and Matech would be nice. Kaz said he likes obscure cars. I'm thinking well see that wacky GT car that was in the Dubai 24H.

Yeah, I'm aware of that thread with the Fischer Ford GT and AMR V12 Vantage GT3. Who knows, maybe PD did model those. If rumored courses for GT6 such as Brands Hatch and Apricot Hill can become comfirmed, I don't see why not for cars.

The Diablo was a JGTC GT500 car so it has plenty of friends. :)

Anyway if we can get 16 different GT3 cars (or atleast different liveries) at launch, I'm sure more will follow as DLC.

This is exactly the kind of stuff PD keeps forgetting.
They are good at 3d modelling and shaders, what they really should OUTSOURCE is all these gameplay decisions. All these small details can make a difference when you actually play the game.

PC sim racing developers create RACE SERIES based on one single 3d model, just think about iRacing, Project Cars, rFactor 2 all those great one make series with competitive AI.

Think about that Lexus DTM Prototype in GT5 with a bounch of liveries could have been an amazing DTM cup. They don't necessarily need more cars to improve the game they should make good use of the stuff they already have.

Except for the outsourcing thing, I agree with HKS racer. And just to reiterate, and I can't harp on this enough, I want a serious focus in GT6 and beyond on league racing in all levels. If it's too expensive for SONY/PD to license a number of leagues, I'm fine with fantasy versions. I want several different racing series running from Miata/Cappuccino/X-Bow-based low powered buzz bombs, all the way to those 600hp-plus monsters, Vantages, Ford GTs, etc. Plus WRC/Rallycross, BTCC, DTM, Formula GT and so on.

Use RMs, use every freaking thing available - there are going to be 1200 cars after all, and more to come. Use them. Give us racing series from here to the far 10km/100km horizon. :D

The GT website is my new friend! Now, I wonder how much Cr each race gives now the prices of race cars have dropped.

Amen to that!

Those anniversary cars just need to be de-tuned for only competitions and they're good to go. I think it's silly they're given a performance boost anyways... considering they're GT3 cars there should be strict restrictions.

And that's why I feel I will pass on purchasing the special edition this time. I won't have a use for it if it not classed in an event. Online the Stealths are classed in Super GT and Prototypes but with no year on those 15A cars, I'm not sure if they're classed in A-spec specific events.

If I know I can use them all the time then, I will consider buying the 15A.

Well, if SMS improve physics, and they are doing it, car after car, the consistency of a well structured Career Mode will bring more and more people to a game that have, how many? 50 cars? 100 cars? It's not the numbers, it's how you use them.
I would also love all the series you said, but I'm very skeptical, after Gamescom all the input recieved from PD make my think they are not going in the right direction. It's not a lazyness problem, they showed several new 3d models and tracks, they've clearly put some effort but the thing is

- They are ignoring the importance of liveries, no I'm not talking about livery editor, I'm talking about class races, where the field as you very well know, MUST show some variety. Look at what SMS is doing, they are delivering at least 20 different liveries for each model to ensure variety in career mode. PD are not doing it, they are doing Annyversary liveries. And that SLS GT3 is still plain gray in their videos. That's creepy if you ask me.

- PP system alone will not be enough, we will still find modern race cars against vintage Le Mans cars. At least we need the option to un-flag years so we can filter out unwanted opponents. No point trying to simulate a GT1 championship if you are forced to race against an old Ford GT40 or Jaguar.

- As soon as I have some little hopes and I boot GT5, that borderline sterile and ripetitive cycle of Seasonal Events always remind me to lower to BURY my expectations. What about JGTC? You have plenty of them. Never did a bloody JGTC race in a Seasonal. And no it's not because they are standard. Most of Japanese Classics are, as well as FGT. What about GT1 cars without a Group C intruder? What about creating new events instead of recycling to death the same old s*** over and over again? What about getting rid of chase the rabbit races and add Arcade Mode AI in Seasonals? If you create a new seasonal you are not creating new content, are you? You are just using picking some cars add them as AI opponents, set some specs and the new Seasonal is done. Why not doing new events all the time? Because they have no fantasy. That's the problem.

That's why I expect they'll keep forget most of these little things, They have Karts, what about starting with Karts? No that's way too original, GT6 will start with a Sunday Cup followed by a Clubman Cup. What about creating a sort of Formula 3 open wheeler instead of boasting the 1200 cars numbers with their vulgar marketing campaign? Etc etc etc...

Yeah, but you can always de-tune the engines to make them in spec..

Yeah, but some classic car and muscle car races didn't allow Chromeline cars because there are no year on the title. '66 Cobra '59 300SL. It just says Chromeline COBRA/300 SL. Hopefully there are no restrictions like this for the classic 15A cars.
