I seriously hope Toyota wipes the floor with Audi at Le Mans next month, I really do..

Audi really need a challenger for LMP1 to regain any interest. Also I can't understand how they show so much of Audi though there are actual battles going on in lower classes.

Was there more than one battle in lmp1? Only one I saw was when Duval (is he related to François btw?) was trying to overtake Treluyer and after half a lap of action it was called off by team orders. This seriously has to change.

Really looking forward to see how Toyota perform. (Hope Peugeot comes back too for 2013, and isn't Porsche supposed to join at some point as well?)

Toyota vs Audi vs Peugeot would have been good but not to be.

Nurburgring 24 hours in two weeks!! That seems early.

Ring 24 will be great, I'll have to look for a stream showing it.

Today was great, that's by far the longest race that the missus has 'endured' with me! Think 2 tickets to Le Mans might be jumping the gun a bit?? :dopey:

I think Audi will have to race Toyota in every race from here on out

And from what I heard Peugeot isn't coming back anytime soon, something like 5 years at the very earliest if they decide to come back

Porsche is coming in 2014, but for many reasons that may mean the end of Audi

VW-Brand clash. Some think they'll axe the Audi program before they take Porsche's record for overall wins. Others say that Audi are here to stay.

At one point, VW tried to keep its marques from racing each other.

Well Porsche has 16 overall wins and Audi 11 (if Im not mistaken) so they still have a long way to go.

Oh. I never knew that VW owned Porsche...

If there was one, don't you think it would have been posted by now?

And what is stopping you from searching for one on your own?

Brilliant finish in GT as usual. 👍

TV coverage doesn't look at it enough. 👎

I suppose footage of various Audi personnel in the pit celebrating is better that showing cars actually racing. :ouch:

My thoughts exactly!

I know, I don't get it either, they dedicate 6 hours to 4 Audis, multiple laps ahead of the competition, not competing with each other and positions 1-4 are all Audis, driving right after another, and nothing happening at all, but they won't film a good GT class battle.

Yeah. I sadly remember the days of when they would film Audi Vs. Peugeot. I rather would've seen the GT cars battling instead of the Audi crew celebrating. 👎

There wasn't much of a GT battle to film. I mean, sure, I can appreciate the AF Corse vs Porsche thing, but there were so few cars in that class, it was sort of pointless.

They should have focused on the LMP2 battle. Thats where the action is.

Yeah, boring as P1 class since Peugeot has left.

It's fine for them to show a little bit of the celebration but then please get back to where the action on the track is! Happened in Sebring, everybody missed what happened in the GT Class. They didn't even show the GT cars cross the finish line! :ouch:

I don't know how much have Audi paid to have their cars shown on the TV screen but I think everybody knows that they are going to win unless something else happened.

There's no reason why they can't have three additional streams, one looking at the LMP1 petrol fight, one looking at the LMP2 fight and one looking at the GT fight.

The number of extra streams available on the ALMS website during a race shows that this is possible.

That's a good idea, you could then switch from the different classes. But I guess you'd need different commentators for each stream, that might be a problem.

I arived at 10.15 at Spa, it was raining, no pooring down. Dressed up warm and carying an umbrella I walked around the paddock area. At 11 I met with Vince_Fiero. We had a beer and cursed the weather. I highly respect the Radical racers as they had a full wet race. I got scared when a Radical fired up its engine very close to me in the paddock. What an amount of anger comes from that Honda engine. Totally mean.

The WEC race started with a wet track, but the rain had stopped 30 minutes before the start. During the race I walked around the circuit twice. It can be done in 80 minutes :)

I witnessed the crash on the slope of Eau Rouge when I was in the bottom erea of Eau Rouge. Scarry moment when you see it happening in real time.

I arived safely at home after the race. The miracles of the detours on Belgium highways. Damn, no lighing on the streets. Crazy without a navigation.

Anyway, here are some snaps:

I already searched Dailymotion WEC channel, SPEED, ELMS, youtube, google, before asking here. I was just curious because the first time I asked no one answered. I only asked again because it entered a new page of posts. I'm also bad at finding these things and don't know all the video hosting sites out there besides youtube.

I've watched the replay - it seems even odder than that. It looks like he finished the right-hander and was heading straight for the pits when the car stepped round on him. Looking at the damage in the garage I'd guess the rear-left stabiliser sheared first (maybe he clobbered that kerb) - I've never seen a car spin round in a straight line through driver error except for a snatched downchange.

He switched off TCS without realizing it.

🤬 happens I guess, more so if you are a rookie, but he has shown great pace and consistency (another way of saying is "he was consistently quick out there").

Best of luck to Le Mans! 👍

EDIT - MarcoM Thanks for the pictures, my favs are these:

Love the HPD car, and the blue Strakka's colors

s27.JPG

Own one of these, same model (Plus4) same color. Different rear view mirrors though :D

Very good picture of an epic section of Spa. Eau Rouge (I used to know it by Radillon) is indeed something else.

The AWE factor. What 599 is that?

PS - Not the 599XX, there are no lateral exhausts in that one, as can be seen be clearly seen in this short clip:

They were Tweeting about it being a rookie error within a couple of hours but I had no idea what that error was - or even could be. Switching off TCS... that'll do it!

Surely a rookie is allowed a rookie error?

Lucas just seemed to take to racing like a duck to water, and he may be setting the bar too high for anyone following him through the GT Academy.

At least he didn't stall, and lose a win, whilst waving to the crowd on the last lap... At least he didn't accidentally set off the fire extinguisher half way through the race...

I think the guys at Nissan will change the dashboard and create a clearer separation of the "reserve fuel pump" button from the "TCS OFF/ON" switch.

It's either that or giving Jordan surgeon gloves instead of those clumsy fatsy driver gloves they wear. I wouldn't even be precise hitting the G25 shifter buttons with such gloves

EDIT - Add a automatic fire extinguisher directed at the hands just in case ... ;)
