Surely a rookie is allowed a rookie error?

Lucas just seemed to take to racing like a duck to water, and he may be setting the bar too high for anyone following him through the GT Academy.

At least he didn't stall, and lose a win, whilst waving to the crowd on the last lap... At least he didn't accidentally set off the fire extinguisher half way through the race...

Nissan_OnTrack have been tweeting #cheerupjordan. I guess he's taking it hard.

So apparently, I was missing out on this. Was it playing live on Audi.tv during the race?

EDIT: I've found a replay of Philippe Hazebrouck's David Brabham's Philippe Hazebrouck's massive crash:

Best edit that again. It's not Brabham. It was wrong on screen and the commentators got it wrong as well. They corrected when they realised they'd made a mistake.

Brabham finished 12th in the number 22.

That is the number 43 Norma 03.

3 GTp members visiting, 10ish photos posted???

Come on lets see it.

Also the grid girls ;).

Found a similar onboard vid with better sound/less otherR18ly interference. You can clearly hear the electric system charging during braking, as well as activate when going over 120 KM/H.

Here's hoping that this streams live during Le Mans.

Thanks!!

All the Audi worship really kind of pissed me off during the race. It's been happening for a while now. The Radio Le Mans guys are talking about all the "exciting" racing in GTE-Pro and the challenge classes, but I'm like, what racing? We got about 5 seconds of the fight for the GT lead at the end of the race, interrupted by Audi's pit crew celebrating their 8,000th easy victory. No other team was even close to them, and that's how it will be until someone comes in and replaces Pug for an actual contender. A few HPDs are about as close as I've seen challenge the diesels (besides the e-trons).

Yet they continue to show Audi nonstop even though it's completely uninteresting, non-competitive racing except between themselves. How much time is ever spent showing LMPC battles? LMP2? GTC? Practically none, comparatively.

I'm going to enjoy Audi's absence from Seca, so we can actually see a few of the other battles over 6 hours and not just an R-18 commercial. I mean they're all good drivers, for sure--no one can contend that. But I think any pro driver in the series, given they're familiar with the R-18, could have won that race in the r18.

/rant. Sorry, whew :)

It is a cool car and a good team, but come on why even HAVE 5 classes if you only show four cars?

Audi sponsors WEC.

I am not a big fan either, mainly because it takes the figthing out. On the other hand you have to give them some credits.

Perhaps a new rule: petrol only? But even there Audi has a strong track record.

So, are you saying that Audi should be penalised because they're good?

How is that even remotely fair?

Audi should just not be the center of attention constantly. If they were driving petrol cars I get the feeling some of those HPDs would give them a run for their money, too. Why is it fair to run a car that outleagues the entire series it runs in?

Then again they did dominate with the R8, so I may need to shut up on that point...

WEC, WTCC and probably more series ; it is normal if you invest a lot of money, like Audi in WEC en Chevrolet in WTCC, it is normal that they are dominant, if other constructors would invest more money, for sure there would be a closer field.... These championships are a marketing strategy for them, it's their showroom to the world....

It is just time for the others who are behind to catch up with Audi, put in some efforts and eventualy the succes will come....every constructor could be doing this, it are just choices to be made...

I do not think it will be a matter of time to see the end of Audi's domination. I am not looking for that either.

Last year at least Peugeot provided very strong competition at Spa.

If there is no strong competition in the WEC at the top level class, the WEC will become dull and die eventually. We've seen it happen before: F1, WRC.

I have no solution for it either, but I do not see the appeal in the same team winning all the time just because they have the money to trow at it.

I couldn't agree more! 👍

Haven't followed F1 since Damon Hill won the title and as for WRC, I don't think the changes go far enough to give the sport the 'excitement' it had during the 80's and early 90's

Have you watched F1 this year? It's anything but dull, they even made Bahrain a good race.

True, before I started watching my whole impression of the sport was 'cars going around in circles with no overtaking'. Glad I was proved wrong.

That would be nice for companies as big as Audi around the world. But what about the privateer teams?

They get shafted same as always.

It will always be that way until the privateers, who are the lifeblood of any category, refuse to race with manufacturers. That won't happen because of sponsors.
