New thread for Fifa 14?

Yep, was good last night. We went from a 5 game losing streak to winning 2 in a row and surviving relegation. 👍

The 4-4-2 Flat formation was working well for us. I was up front, sureshot was midfield, and neljack was any. We'd get the ball out on the wing (usually to neljack) and have it crossed in, or be able to pass it around a bit to work into the box.

Only trouble with this is we don't really have any tall centre forwards/strikers. The other night the ball was being crossed in a lot but because our players were built for pace (short and lean) we had no chance against the taller stronger defenders.
I think we would be better off trying make runs, and trying to find a way through the defence with the ball on the ground.
 
I'm not so sure I agree on that, if I'm playing centre midfield then I can get chances, being 6'3". It worked in those two wins. In the 1-0 win i had a double tap cross that neljack put in, he got in front of the defender.

In the 4-2 I scored a header, I got an assist for a header (I had some lag, unusually), and ended up crossing the ball from the goal line to edge of six yard box and I think one of the others was a header.

Though it depends who were playing, we shouldn't turn in to a Stoke, but we should be adaptable and work out how to play against that team, we have quick and nimble players, good crossers and some players capable of heading. I don't think having one method is the way to go, though we do play better when we're quick passing, not only does it give us more chances, but it's easier to hold formation at the back against the counter attack if we're losing the ball less, we conceded on the counter attack a lot in that 5 loss run.
 
I can't remember who was on the other night, but I think it was ETID, Ellis, r35, you and me who were normally in the box and I can't remember us scoring a goal from balls crossed in.
From what I remember it was all about the counter attack and building up the play.
I might be wrong though :dopey:
 
My 5'8" player got a good amount of headers from crosses in those games we won last night (one was a goal). Maybe they had really short defenders :sly:
 
Size doesn't matter as much if you can get in front of the defender and the ball is a good'un, but yeah, flexibility be good!

Im having a problem getting onto pro clubs. I click onto it from online game modes, then it tells me to create a pro. I create my pro, and then it comes up with the initial screen for a brand new pro, eg press conference and what pro clubs is about. It stays on that for a bit, then goes straight back to the main menu. It's getting really frustrating :(. Anyone got any idea's?
 
Well, that was complete and utter tosh.

Two wins that didn't count for us and then an opponent gets a second yellow for tackling me and who gets sent off? Yup, my player. And yet, earlier on when i actually got sent off I ended up sharing the Any position with Neljack, somehow.

Hopefully those two lost wins don't hurt us, they shouldn't, as we needed 1 win from 4 when I left.

Also, on a very subtle note, can we close the club out to non-GTP members?

I'm happy to move to a CB next time if people think the midfield is getting a bit padded out, my stats go up to about 81 if I go CB. Suppose it depends on who is online. Good fun, just shame it gets ruined by the EA factor!

BTW Sureshot, I think you may be referring to me in the restricting to GTP members line(unsure about this) I was LukeC7296.:)
 
Lots of fun but totally ruined by EA glitches etc such a shame:grumpy: Look forward to another bash sometime hopefully with a little more luck.:indiff:

Not you I was referring to but good to put GTP username to PSN username. It does like to freeze before it goes in to the match. The solution is to log out of PSN as the game should kick you out.

Guys id advise you to get on at EA with the problems, it usually takes more than one to get them to pay attention, thats what i done last night and they told me our wins not getting counted and sureshot getting sent off even though we hadn't committed a foul is "server errors"

That's a "We have no idea what's causing that" response, I actually work in the games industry and I know how monumentally hard online games are to get reliable, we have endless problems with ours and they are so hard to track down (harder than a haggis!).

Did any of the other games after I left count? How long did they take to respond to the live chat?

I'm happy to join tonight, not sure when, somewhere between 8-9 probably.
 
I think perhaps we need to play earlier, starting at 12 maybe have been a tad too late. And it seems like the later it is, the worse we play.
We started off pretty well, unbeaten for 3 games and then.......yeahhhh.
