First Gran Turismo Sport Live Event of 2019 Set for Paris March 14–18

Great racing from everyone that was mega entertaining. Congratulations to Nico Rubilar well deserved it means so much to him especially after qualifying and not being able to do the same in race, finally hey! Great drive from Mikail Hizal and Wong. I think Mikail was most disappointed because he could have been in final immediately. But now has to work harder for it. I’m expecting Igor Fraga to be more competitive next time around. Well that’s it for now, I can’t wait for the next events and those cars coming are gonna be fun to drive. :gtpflag:

The races are all over, but the production team is still working very hard behind the scenes.

It really is amazing how many people it takes to bring these live events. Congratulations to the winners, but also to the crew!

WHOA! WOW! DUDES! Never seen anything from GT Live before today, & I must say that I was a little taken aback with the whole thing. Particularly, with the consummate professionalism of @Tom Brooks & his stellar commentary, that guy has sure come a long way (I first heard of him here). He & @Jimmy B gelled so well together IMHO, I found they really made the race come alive & made it exciting to watch. It was as good as anything I've seen in F1. Good job lads, bravo!

It was also great to see real motorsport style graphics on the live stream. I've been wishing for years to get something like that on replays in-game, & it made the whole thing more realistic to watch. I only watched part of one race, but, think I may have to sit down & get serious about following this programme from now on.

However, I feel that PD are slightly letting the side down with a few minor details that could be better. The sloppy camera cuts as the cars exit the pits when chase cam kicks in & the cars ghost for a split second was jarring & seriously off-putting for me. As were the name tags hovering above the cars; would much rather see just the driver name graphic on screen (that sometimes appeared). The in-game transitions, in general, could be a lot smoother & professional looking. However, it was an unexpected joy to watch.

As a quite outspoken opponent of Sports Mode, I have to say that I'm starting to understand what they were trying to do with it now...

👍

EDIT: Need to see some grid starts as well, with no TC. Can't stand all of this rolling start nonsense, they're robbing excitement from the start of the races.

Were all the N300 and N500 cars from today’s races using sequential transmissions? And were they using standard BoP or special BoP just for this event? It would have been quite a disadvantage to guys in H pattern cars compared to cars with paddles if not, on top of the already random car draw.

Just watched one of the races, the winner,M Hizal was driving a ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta passo corto.I cant find this car in the game,is it a regional variation? We get the 250 GTO but thats a different model, any ideas?Just an observation, starts at 29.14 for anybody whos interested.

It's new to the game, as is the Countach anniversary edition that Rubilar was driving.
When lightning pitted Nico simply drove a Q lap, went for tires and came out in front.
@TRL LIGHTNING also hit the pit entry.

Cookie Monster was caught in a hard place. He had the fastest driver on his tail and a pitstop to make for fuel and tires (i think Nico only needed tires?).

On this track with equal tires and cars it would be a small miracle to pass the best qualifier, it would take a mistake to get past him. And it seems as if Nico is a bit more cool headed now than last season. Imho he could fight for the big one.

I can understand why lightning was so disappointed, so much lost over the weekend and after all this preparation. But let's not forget the Ferrari 250 drive, it was masterclass. I think lightning felt more pressure coming into this than last year, and learning to handle that is the way to go from here.

The same goes for Igor, he is raw talent but he keeps making these weird mistakes?

For what it is worth i want to thank every driver for 2 days of fantastic racing. I watched every minute of it and was truly entertained. And i have the deepest respect for the skills and devotion that is required and demonstrated in every race.

My only complaint is the lack of replays from stuff that happens of screen. Obviously they are producing this from a PS4 but it would raise the game if they recorded every drivers race and put together more detailed replays after each race.
Lightening put in preparation time but who knows what others' prep time was like, especially since he's an engineering student. You can't blame a dude for committing to that nor to anybody else for committing to full time racing!

Congratulations to both, awesome to see clean drivers especially win big time!

I'm taking nothing away from the drivers there, but how did that event promote GT Sport? Pathetically short races, with stupid combos. The manufacturers wasn't too bad but 5 laps around Brands Hatch, really PD?

Then there's Nations. Stupid combos, why use road cars, are they too arrogant to admit that their BoP for road cars is totally messed up? And then the repechage . What on earth did that achieve? For me the races were far too short, that was the main thing, this event was vastly inferior to all the previous events I've seen. Well done to all drivers, did well with the **** storm they were dealt with. The stewarding in the Fuji race was a joke as well.

Well, apart from the "grand finale" (nations) race which was as boring as a F1 race, the races were pretty entertaining, and I think this promotes GT sport fairly well. It is true that some of the races felt a bit short but overall it was ok.

I agree that the stewarding in the Fuji race was weird, considering there were times it looked like case of retaliation that were left unsanctionned.

The grand final race was boring, PD should get rid of all "formula" cars SF, F1, red bull X2014 and bring more cars to Gr4, 3 and 2

I'm sure majority agrees that N category is a mess for balance and should go for one make race mostly but road car racing is great as well, don't take that away. Many people go watch the Nation just to see if there's a new road car in N class for example, people not only demand racing cars but road as well.
And about the rally one, well, i've watched it and in the end it became quite an intense race for 4th place and surprised me on how addicting was to watch. Impossible to expect a clean race in that but the racers quite managed it and made it fun to watch. Don't know if i want to see more dirt tracks in World Tour but Gr.B seemed to be more balanced compared to Gr.4 lol

Happy for Nico. Totally deserved victory after dominating the qualifying sessions and all the bad luck he had so far.

I wish the races could be longer, but at the same time not many can watch an event for more than 2 hours. The best solution, imo, would be to organize the semi-finals remotely, with races happening online but broadcast live on Youtube. Fewer drivers would be invited to the final event and then one or two long races would decide the winner. I think this would make for a better show, make things more fair to drivers and also engage the community better.

For now, PD should implement the possibility of a few seconds to cancel the tire selection in case of a mistake. It's hilarious that someone who can drive with surgical precision will make a mistake right when it's just about pressing a button.

Three Italian Cars and one race car. Maybe Eight more cars left, to be revealed. Anyone?...Anyone?...

The first of our driver interviews are now up on FB and Twitter.

I was particularly gutted for @TRL LIGHTNING, who wanted to win here in Paris so badly. Alas, that is racing and the rollercoaster that is sport. On the other end of the spectrum, Nicolas' emotions and excitement were infectious and he has a lot to be proud of from his time here in Paris.

We'll have more interviews tomorrow and lots more coverage throughout the week. But for now, I hear Lenny Ibizarre downstairs, so I have to go now. :D

Yes, all sequential paddle shifting. One of the competitors could tell you more about BoP for this event, I didn't personally hear the discussions about it at this event.

Did someone piss in your cornflakes this morning? The N class racing felt just as entertaining as the rest imo, there would be no point in having 70% of the game's cars if they didn't get featured once in a while. To each is own I guess though..

Thanks for the info. :)

I would say they most likely all were using ABS default, don’t know for sure though and I doubt any were using TCS.

The wheels were Thrustmaster T-GT’s, not sure on pedals, T3PA Pro’s most likely. ;)
