If it really was a Driving Simulator, there would be 0 A.I. cars on track and lap times wouldn't matter.

Sounds like Practice mode regardless the excuse, when one control a car - it's an act of driving the car - and GT basically simulate this - the act of controlling a car, accelerate, steering and braking. PD uses general term of driving to describe the simulation that PD tries to achieve, nothing wrong there. Inside the game, there are modes of play, practice, races, drift trial, rally, then online - more freedom is given, track day ( no race ), cruise, drag, drift - all of these requires the player to drive/control the car.

If it says racing simulator, then drifting, time trial, rallying and other form of driving when online ( cruise, drag ) would not be there. It will only have one mode, racing with AI or real players, nothing less, nothing more.

Damn, I'll need to build all those miles by myself. Gone is the delicious hunting in the UCD, I loved to hunt cars with very low or very high mileage.

It got panned because it took away allot of features, retained the same physics as four for the most part. Basically imagine if GT3 had less events than two and had the exact same physics .. its crapper than the last aside from graphics !

I said it wasn't getting panned. It's doing quite well. Metacritic score sitting at 82 at the moment. So way to read the whole post 👍

I always though I am the only person in the world who has got this mazochism for the ultimate hunting That was one of my favorite features - completing a few races and then go look what's new. Good times.

Please let this not be true. It reminds me of GT PSP automatically picking you a car to start with. I coincidentally got a Fit as my first. I hope I can get rid of it unlike in the PSP game!

Goodbye 15 years of tradition then.👎👎 I daresay one of the most revered and nostalgic features of the GT series has been the first car purchase and now the option is taken away it seems. That's an epic miss on PD's part👎👎
