Fit all parts to gain slight performance advantage ?

In GT4 if you fitted all performance parts in order from cheapest to most expensive (that is.. stage 1 turbo, then stage 2 turbo straight after and finally stage 3 right after that), you would actually gain a slight performance advantage over someone just purchasing and fitting the top tier performance part alone.

This is a fact, anyone disputing this would be wasting their time. I'm not discussing the validity of this point, if anyone doubts it .. pop on to gt 4 and disprove yourself.

What I wanna know is .. iz diiiis true for gee tea 5 too ???

Quick replies please (7:35am over here in LDN town, who am I kidding) because my gt is just staring at me waiting to mod my fave gt4 car .. the Buick Spesh !!! ..Ahh I remember destroying all the LMS' round El Capitan on maxed out 20 difficulty in Practice on gt4.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I've never heard this claim put out before and despite thousands of hours logged in GT4 I've never seen any evidence of this - present your case.

I've never seen any evidence of this in GT5. Try doing a search to see if anyone has brought it up before. I know doing an oil change even on new cars raises hp, and then of course hp continues to rise as you break it in, and another oil change between 100-200 km further increases hp. The and the same hp level, the mid-range turbo provides higher PP which I took to assume it gave the best throttle response and thus the best lap times at the same hp level.

I think I remember it being like that in GT1 or GT2 aswell..

but to answer the question, no, there's no benefit of buying the other parts... in fact, in GT5 the system is different, where you choose the parts that go into your tuned car - that is, you can de-tune your car from say its intake parts to have its old standard intake fittings. Of course, weight reduction and engine upgrades are still irreversible and you can't jump to the last stage anyways.. Also I've found that the weight reduction can be tricky... because in GT5 there is ballast, so if you get the weight reduction and you blow the Performance Point limit you were trying to achieve, adding ballast wont decrease your PP back down, and you get maybe 1 point more.. but this is in rare cases. The bottom line is just be careful.

Though, you can glitch the tuning menu........ after tuning a car, if you don't like the result and you think you might have ruined the car you can press PS button and "Quit Game" and when you reload GT5, the upgrades will not be done and you will have your money back.

Considering GT1-4 did not work like the OP is saying, no, I can't imagine the notably different tuning system in GT5 would.

This is like saying that if you buy all 3 turbo stages, and click on one of them - you get a higher HP or higher performance, from each of them, no matter which you have checked to use?
That doesn't make much sense.

But moreover, there are times that I have added the 3rd stage turbo, and used it on a car. Then gone back & bought the 2nd stage turbo, to see if I could get a better effect on a particular track or something, not gotten a better effect... so then I check-mark the 3rd stage, and go back to that - and it's not suddenly better than before I bought the 2nd stage turbo.
3rd stage turbo gives the same attributes whether or not you have purchased the other stages. You can only have one in use at a time, regardless. Simply having them as an option unchecked does nothing for performance that I've seen.

So in short, no, I don't think it works like that.

Of course, in gt4 I often went for higher items without buying lower ones, and never sensed that it was better to buy the lower items first - just a waste of money if I wound up upgrading further.
It didn't matter if I had the better flywheel but didn't use it, or whatever you want to talk about.
And I think I would've noticed, because in gt4 I had several cars that were copies of each other, and maybe one I'd started out with less upgrades, and then when I'd get another, I'd just go straight for the top parts. If there was a disadvantage to that, I would've noticed a pattern where the original cars were better... I never noticed such a pattern, so sorry, I WOULD need some kind of evidence to convince me of the validity of this claim.

So I'm with Famine & SlyckTires... You can't just say "this is irrefutable" and leave it at that, & expect everyone to just agree or shut up. That's a pretty wild expectation & demand on a forum full of players.

Yeah, first, this isn't how GT5 works, much less GT4. Second, try to at least TRY to follow the correct forum rules.
