FITT: Blind Tuning Challenge! Congrats to Bowtie-muscle & Otaliema! Tuners Revealed!!

Not sure he has left, but did get his garage locked. I would suggest taking a deep breath and relaxing before hitting the post reply button. Some seem to be out to start an argument, best not to get into it with them. It may also be that sometimes type has no tone and posts can be misleading. Either way, this thread has not had any issues and I appreciate that and say THANK YOU to everyone participating.👍

Could be that a certain trouble maker just made another tuner leave the forum @praiano63 has left us :(
I think what @Famine said in the last post of the garage that got locked was clear enough.
I can´t express myself in my thread so here is my last post. This is clear enough that wrong people is right here, clear that ******* is not a bad word, clear that the mods here have a lot of power and abuse of it the way they want , telling a 52 years old experienced guy responsible for around 5 or 6 millions visits in their site that he don´t have the right to defend himself.
For who like to live with a damocles spade above the head, good luck. It was a great adventure. I´ll move to another free site soon.
See you later everybody, perhaps on track, it was a real pleasure.
Laurent.

If I ever go online, I will be looking you up. Don't be a stranger my friend, FITT door is always open to you.
May peace be with you. 👍

Someone needs to do some serious PR work right now. It's just my opinion.

2 people who deserve a ton of respect for helping and shaping so many people here, and have helped more then most others make this place 'elite', have decided to stop being here. They were the best advertising and 'lure' any site could ever ask for.
I am not saying that ignoring rules, or getting too angry and saying more then you should, are good ideas. They are BAD ideas. That said, and moving on.....
The issue that is not being addressed, is that the 2 people I refer to, are extremely kind hearted people. They would and have bend over backwards to do anything for the people on this website. Anyone can get along with them without even trying. So the fact that someone pushed and pushed that far, to actually anger 2 people who have longer fuses then anyone else here, is amazing.
Maybe in this situation, it would be time for everyone they have done so much for, to get behind them and let the opposition know, " HEY, your poking the WRONG person with that stick of yours...."

But that is just my opinion.
Unless asked, I will say no more on this subject. I am very unhappy about this.

BACK to business.
How the heck did you hit 1:10.00 ????!!!!!!???
I tried my hardest and come really close to 1:12.00 even, but can't seem to break into the 1:11's.
I know I'm not the best driver in the world, but thats like 2 full seconds !!! Wow, man. just WOW. :)

Throughout GT5 you were my go to guy, most of my best wins online were due to your tunes and for that I salute you. Your tunes and words of wisdom will be missed on this site and it would be great to see you creating tunes for FITT in the future. Best of luck with the pizza shop too.

My fastest was a 1:09.8xx while tuning. 2 seconds can be had getting turns 1, 2, and 4 just right. They can be done very fast but it's a little scary lol.

I have no idea what's happened here, but if @praiano63 has been banned from GTP, or has been made to he needs to leave GTP. there's something wrong IMO.

It's crazy that a few obvious instigators can cause the arguably 2 greatest contributors to the site to leave. It always seems that realmature people get screwed online because of the trolls but it's not exclusive to this site. At least project cars will be here soon. I already stopped racing because of crappy lobbies, only these challenges and the occasional seasonal keep the disc in my system. Getting rid of shuffles, adding micro transactions, and shipping with broken physics has soured me with PD. Now gt planet is trying it's hardest to do the same. Sad.

1:10.2xx is my quickest of the bunch. 1:09's is in the cards...so that must make you tuner #....;)
Showoffs.:grumpy:.......................I was not that low while tuning.:(

Gentlemen, I feel as bad as anyone about @praiano63 leaving but it is his choice and I respect him for it. However, it likely is not the best thing to do to go after the moderators or @Famine . Put yourself in the mods shoes for just a second, it can be a thankless job but needs to be done. How many times are they thanked, likely a very small percent compared to how often they are questioned. If you do some digging, you can figure out where this started and ended, and who with. If you want to protest, hit the ignore button for the other individual involved or simply avoid him. Silence can be golden.

As for this thread, I would respectfully have to ask that we move the subject back to the current tuning challenge, there is a challenge going on isn't there? The mods and I have never had issues, nor do I desire to create one now or in my thread. So, all apologies if this comes off harsh but I feel it needs to be said.

@Motor City Hami , @praiano63 , you gentlemen are welcome in my threads any time my friends. I can only hope that your absence is brief and you both return sooner rather than later.

I whole heartedly agree with that sentiment. I look forward to seeing more reviews and guesses from testers as to whom they think the tunes belong too :)

Potted summary:

An old spat - for which infractions for abusive comments have been issued before - flares up, a member of staff addresses both users regarding their comments towards each other, then the existence of the ignore function.
One user chooses to level abusive comments at that member of staff.
That user then chooses to delete the contents of the first post of their tuning thread and announces their departure from the site.
Despite that all being voluntary, with no ban forcing that user from the site, other users pile in on the staff, resulting in post deletions and - with the value of the thread lost - the thread is locked.
Satellite discussions pop up hither and thither, in which a similar summary to this is posted.

So, for telling two users not to abuse each other and use the ignore function if they don't like each other, the staff cop a whole load of abuse because one of the users blanks a useful post to which he tended because he doesn't like being told he can't abuse other members. Again. I agree, there's something wrong there - and it's not with GTP.

I also agree that it's highly unfortunate that we've lost someone who has been useful in the past, but we've lost them through their choice seemingly because they think that they ought to be allowed to insult another member that they don't like and we should be taking action against that member on no other basis. It's even more unfortunate that they've chosen to delete the resource that they'd made as it denies that resource to people through no fault of their own. And, judging from the PayPal button in their first post, that people had donated to because they liked it.

It's even more unfortunate that this individual is painting it as a gross abuse of staff powers and a campaign against his "right to defend himself", especially since that user claimed to have the other on his ignore list...

As a quick reminder for people, if someone at GTPlanet is insulting you, this is the correct procedure:
Click "Report" on the relevant communication (post, VM, Conversation); Add them to your ignore list.

Here is the incorrect procedure:
Insult them back, continue the argument, insult staff who now have to intervene on two fronts instead of one, ragequit.

There is nothing anyone here can do about this unless we want to petition Jordan to change the third rule of the site to include the phrase "unless you really don't like them" and, to be honest, I doubt he'd go for it and I doubt many of the staff would want to stick about as it's completely unenforceable.

I understand where your at sir, I know what it's like to be caught in a bad spot and have to lay your foot down even to respected members of the site. I personally will never hold anything against a mod of this site for enforcing the AUP, am I sad to see @praiano63 leave, yes he was a great tuner and generally great guy. Same for @Motor City Hami I hope they choose to return in the future. But I never want to see GTP go the way of some of the sites on the web where the AUP is a suggestion on behavior not a requirement.
I respect you sir and the rest if the staff here at GTP, being the boss is sometimes not so fun.

Back on topic. I do agree a cars willingness to hang in turns 1,2 & 4, 5 are the lap make or breakers. If a car won't hold them it won't hold a good time. I think the winning tune will be the one that best set up for the car to hang there.

What you said about the cars and getting them to go fast is so true. I feel somewhat sorry for the tuners of the Duel because there is just so much that can change in those cars, and it can be pure luck that someone like myself can achieve such a fast lap. I seriously gained +0.200 seconds in the first corner over my previously fastest lap. Everything just seemed to fall into place, and I really cant say that I am a fast driver because of one lap. SO, tuner #4 is lucky that I was lucky for one lap. It makes me wonder whether I should test the rest of the cars for longer and try to get more one-lap-wonders.
