You can put me down yo test if you like. I love cars that are really fast and on the edge of out of control. It makes me a better driver in the long run having to be contentious about my laps.

1:28.2xx and it was a really scrappy lap, not sure if I'm going to enter though so put me down as a tentative tuner 👍
dobe sir. And your scrappy lap is faster then mine ;)

Done sir welcome aboard. This a little different from normal FITT challenges in that you need to get a 5 lap total time as well as fast lap. You can read the details in the op.

Shouldn't be a problem, running consistent 26's now.:mischievous:
Tricky beast with a few interesting quirks but I think I'm getting somewhere with it now (leaving the track backwards at 150mph 50% less often at least )

It is a tricky beast I've been finding my normal tricks don't work all too well.
Getting it stable has proven interesting.

My PS3 is starting to go strike, I'm rebuilding the system files everyday to keep it working, so tonight I'm defaulting the system rebuilding and reinstalling I except this to take 1-3 days so I won't able to check tunes or anything else in game during this time.
edit; The nuke and reinstall was painless for the PS3, GT6 is what took the time.
had to update all 19 updates one at a time.

I just finished with a little tuning and getting to know the track session. I can run fairly consistent 1:29.4s (unless I get overly excited) and have a best lap so far of 1:28.672. Not bad for a couple hours spent on the first day with the car. I am sure a driver with a wheel (or a little more finesse) could probably do better in it. A few more sessions and I will be ready for testing. 👍

Looks like I'm a victim of the update error I an fix it but can't do so till tonight. Have to DL 6 patches at a time, disconnect from the network and install the updates -_- then repeate untill all 19 updates have been installed.
What I want to know is why PD doesn't just make a master file that includes all changes to the game data from 1.00 to 1.20 then a graphics patch then a VGT patch so it's only 3-5 and not 19.

Why do you need to do it in groups? I when I had to reinstall a few weeks ago I was able to download everything in one go, then went offline and installed everything just fine.

Sometimes a PS3 will not take to a full DL and install it's a hardware thing it runs out of memory prolly or something else. Doing it in groups lessens the load and allows for completion

For fun I just installed GT5 on my new PS3. 27 updates! However, it did them all by itself overnight with no problems.

I just did this exact same thing. I got a second ps3 from a buddy in a trade and it came with a bunch of games including GT5 prologue and normal GT5. For some reason though, my save data from XL edition won't work with the standard GT5 disk? Any idea why that is?

Well sadly the multi download failed for me looks like my PS3 is corrupt. I will need to with draw from the challenge as a tuner and tester.
I need a volunteer to check the tunes for the challenge.

If I had the time I would but on this occasion I can't spare any time for checking tunes. I have three pieces of uni work to resubmit (annoyingly..) and I am in the middle of a uni placement at the Hospital. I hope you get a PS3 that works soon.

Probably worth seeing if you can get it fixed rather than buying a whole new unit, you haven't had a yellow light of death so the motherboard and power supply are fine, might just need a new HDD and a reformat. This would be a much cheaper fix. Have a quick google and you'll probably find someone local 👍

(I will do the checking if no one else volunteers but I may need some leeway as my schedule is somewhat unpredictable so I can't promise to do it by X date)

TY, I hope the placement goes smoothly.

That is something to consider but also it is a 1.5/2.0 gen console my wife bought it 6 months after initial launch. So it could just be getting tired too. If no one else steps up I would thankful for the assistance other wise I'll just have to post the tunes and hope for the the best with them.

The HDD is a common part, can be replaced with any PC unit (size dependant). The only reason to replace the whole unit is if the soldering perishes on the motherboard or you fry the processor, both of these would kill the console outright and evidently thats not the case. Get it looked at and you might save yourself a stack, there are plenty of console repair specialists around

Very true I'll look into it. Thank you for the suggestion

If a couple of tuners can't make the deadline, I would be willing to submit my tune. It would be interesting to get an opinion on it.

Always open for more tuners. 12 signed up and looking like going to have 3 drop due for one reason or another. Want to be added to the list? re doing numbers wont be an issue. *yes I know i closed sign ups but..not going to turn down a tester that wants to provide a tune*

Sure, I will give it a go. I will PM it to you in the next couple hours.
