FITT Ford Challenges by MCH

How does anybody use auto transmission? I did about 20 laps in auto in both stock and 6 speed fixed and never got closer than about a second from my best time in manual.
I do like the green more than the orange. I rely heavily on hitting my marks, listening for the gear changes, (I'm absolute 🤬 if I have the sound turned off) and rolling my thumb onto the X button for some throttle control. You can hear some of it in my video...if I miss my mark I have to let off the gas and let the car rotate just that little bit to get back on line.
And @Bowtie-muscle ...I think my orange streak will probably come to an end with this challenge. Evenly matched cars, tight technical course, and some pretty good tuners in the mix. This is going to be a great challenge.

I found something rather interesting in both the focus and the GT, the factory redline on the dash is 2k rpm lower than the GT6 tach redline, from the factory it redlines 500 rpm after the torque drops off, GT6 redlines at maximum RPM for the engine
 
The carbon hood thing must be a common theme on the ST '06 focuses. My unused FITT entry was created in the same manner.

Black Cherry is an awesome colour!👍 I didn`t find front toe made a massive difference in lap times. In the end I went with what helped me be consistent. I`ve got other odd settings I`m more worried about! :nervous:
 
Found the invisible car ramp and I see. Was an impressive roll over.

@brian wolf you and me both. I'm thinking with the dampers and toe settings right now I may make a few small changes. Trying to figure out this mid corner understeer, if I can sort that out I will be sitting pretty with mine rotates well brakes good gets up and goes with too much argument from the front
 
Crash videos seem to a theme is this challenge for some weird reason... at least you are original. I've never seen anyone rollover there before haha. Nice color combo btw.
I always have that curb or the final corner curb try to flip me whenever I cut it.

Here is a prime example of a balanced tune going over that same curb. Great, fun, unpublished tune by @Bowtie-muscle!

A 59sec is possible. My ghost was at 1:00.3xx and was a good .5 in front until I got all excited at the last corner!! :banghead:
I`m just looking for the little tweeks now, just to make it nice and easy for the testers to get consistent fast times. After all, it makes no difference how fast I can lap in it! I`m thinking of you testers! :cheers:

Hah, That last corner is such a pain, glad I'm not the only one who has lost a good lap there. I've really taken a liking to the car and track combo hence why I keep running it over and over - gotta keep squeezing another tenth every time :P. My only concern as far as my tune is how it will translate to wheel users, as my tunes have always been on the loose side.

The Saints on the road....win???:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: sorry they one of the worst on the road records of any Superbowl winning team in the league. Anyways back to GT6 talk. I have never been a fan of the black carbon hood on a car unless the car was white or red. I See wanna be carbon hoods around my neck of town all the time and they just look wonky, the actual fast tuner cars don't look it around here because the cops like to harass the tuned(and sports car) up car drivers. Gotten more than one jealously ticket in the last few years.

I should have just posted my car on Friday night. It didn't get any faster since then. It did get easier to hit a quick time, which one would think would make it even faster, but there is a point where cars get maxed out in GT.
Ohh boy time to review my tune. :nervous: Looking forward to driving yours seeing what the master has done, and I have yet to learn.

Edit; Tune updated minor changes to springs, dampers, toe, camber and LSD.

Yeah I found the same performance wall, just hit a time that I couldn't better no matter what I did to the car. I had a quick test in a few other cars and they were in the same ball park so I think it might just be that I've hit my own performance limit rather than the car's, should make for interesting results 👍

Just a thought regarding testing, might it be worth staggering which car the testers start with?
I know some people randomise their testing order but others are just gong to start at the top of the list and work downwards and this could lead to a car/track learning pattern that might be unfair on those at the top of the list.

Up to you if you think it might be an issue worth considering though 👍
