FITT-Hot Hatch Tuning Challenge - Final Results are in!

Me too. And for all four of them. As much as @Bowtie-muscle wants to play down his tune, it was only 0.5 seconds behind. That's four great tunes posted for one competition. I am starting to think that we don't have very many tuners left at rookie status.
I guess this was a really good class, less than a tenth!?!......my tune really wasn't that bad but I'm having a little fun since I'm behind. It was no where near as good as yours or @jules283, even @Otaliema was better. But it could be fast for 1 lap. Have you tried it? Spec class pretty close too, maybe I did build a good shootout:)

Very enjoyable shootout Bowtie.
Congrats on a job well done :D

Fantastic shootout man, learned a ton with tuning FF cars and testing them as well. Amazing how much it has helped my 4wd tuning doing this shoot out.

Hmmmm! Someone's licking their chops for the 4WD challenge isn't he :D
A bit but 4wd always gave me problems with the front end could never get them feeling right. After this challenge I think I have pretty decent understanding of how FF works and am able to apply this to the 4wd car and it's helping them get around the track better.

4WD is a serious black art and involves hocus pocus somewhere I'm sure of it :odd:

Once you know what you're doing and aiming for with the differential on an FF then 4wds become much easier to work with. Gives you a much greater understanding of the effects of changing various settings if you can isolate and test various parts and settings.

@Bowtie-muscle Well done on making such a well run and enjoyable contest, great work

@Ridox2JZGTE if the 4wd is a go it will be a STi vs Evo battle. 36-40 (depending on if rally or just street) cars between the two types. will save the all out JDM 4wd challenge for another day.

Then Zero Sports WRXs from BM Tuner Battle or STi replicas :P Won't be as quick, but should be fun :D I might built one of the quickest street/track Evo at Tsukuba too - the PUMA Racing Evos and ADVAN PIAA Evo.

Will the Mitsubishi's Active Yaw Control be allowed? I can see a whole lot of Evolutions vs not many STi's if that's the case.
Adds another factor into getting one to rotate

You might surprised most of the STi's are lighter and have more torque than the Evo's
After getting all the street cars loaded into a spread sheet I see the Evo is lighter with more torque for most of the years but they all look like carbon copies of each other.

The ACY only works to a point than it's a hindrance nothing compares to a well tuned LSD in a car.
I took an Evo out for a spin with the AYC and with a tuned LSD I was 4 seconds faster with the LSD than the AYC on Egier W trail. The AYC kicked the car in to 0/100 drive form and yeah had great back end rotation but I'd hit a bump and just slide off into a wall. On the tarmac it was only 0.100 seconds in favor of the LSD as the AYC kept 40/60 and changed the wheel spin based on load. But when I jacked the HP to 500 the AYC didn't have a clue what it was doing.

Bah got treed by @Ridox2JZGTE lol

Guessing the 22B will be the pick of the Subaru stable

will see how they get grouped the 22-B may be grouped with other cars of simular ability or may not ge allowed in the challange there are 36 street cars not sure I want to place that kind of burden on the testers buying and upgradeing all 36 cars would cost just shy of a million. with out duplicates due to chassis reinforcement.

That's why the Hot Hatch Series only had 18 cars, a few missing but did not want too many. Also didn't think they would all get used anyway. Only 7 of the 18 were.

It makes sense budget wise to have a selection to choose from IMO.

Do you think 18 was enough of a selection? Could have been 25, don't think much would have changed.
TBH I don't think I would've jumped in as a tester if I had 18 different cars to buy'n'build. I don't race online so building up the bank takes quite an effort. Glad no one chose the Beetle .

Yeah i'm not sure how it's going to work just yet. waiting for approval from FITT council before I dive in whole hog.
I collect cars so buying them up is not a big deal for me was going to do it anyways.

Would've got them eventually too

Somewhere in the 20s seems like a good number of cars. Depending on how many classes there are then more cars works. As far as budgets and earning credits I don't know if I've mentioned this or if everyone is aware I do the red bull chalenge with tc=1 racing softs and srf on. It takes 20 minutes to win the first 4 races and skip the last one and with full login bonus it nets 2 million. Takes a little practice but it is easy to repeat once you get the hang of it.

Actually, was hoping someone would try it. Originally tested 8 or 9 cars, same LSD and stock racing suspension. Picked 1 of 2 weights and let them fly. Beetle was third fastest behind the scirocco and Focus which also did not get used.

Edit: Imagine if everyone had to use a different car, no duplicates.:mischievous:
