Starting off, I'm on mobile windows phone, not the best with GTP.
And that's like, year round up there, right?

I should've explained that I was referring to cars in the game.
In the real world, I have a 2005 Holden Commodore that's basically the same as the one in the game except it's a V6 with 235bhp. The only traction control it's got is a 44yo that engages brain & controls his right foot :D
For the last couple of years, it's been compulsory for every new car sold in Australia to be fitted with ESC (Emergency Stability Control). Some makes & models allow you to switch the fun police off whereas others don't. From reading reviews on some models, the ESC is so intrusive that as soon as you start to show any enthusiasm or press on a bit, it's flashing it's little dashboard indicator at you :irked:
Cory, close, a little farther north maybe. ;)

Pete, I know what you mean, the other 2 Jeeps in my profile pic do not have those "idiot assists" and IIRC some of those aids became mandatory here starting in 2012. Send a Holden Ute over here please! ;)

Mate we would've been more than happy to put the steering wheel/pedals on the wrong side of the car & send you a ship load of new 'El Caminos'. Unfortunately, the bean counters at GM hq couldn't make a business case for it. Now we're facing the prospect of importing everything from either the US of A, Opel in Germany or the cheap & cheerful crap they make in China

I'd rather have the controls on the right side anyways! And sorry to hear that possible sad news, always better to build local rather than ship cheap crap in.

Maybe they fixed camber  ..... again.
Well Ill find out in a min about to test a car for the challenge that has a boat load of front camber, see if it's understeers like mad or turns in well. I think this car is going to take some laps to get used too looks like a throttle car and the wheel is just there to get the really tight turns.

edit; I'll have no clue I didn't drive the car prior to the update so no frame of reference  :dunce:

My little german car does that. As soon as you start having "too" much fun, the engine limits the power that it feeds to the wheels and slows everything down so you can "not have an accident". It does have a button in which you can turn off Traction control but really, the electronic systems never turn off. I think the insurance company know about this because the insurance group is really cheap.. one positive thing i suppose.

You can always pull the fuse, that does the job on everything except Mercedes (who hate fun)

Merc supports fun, there is quick option to set car on Rig Mode, all aids gone, including ABS.
All 21th century cars from them.
I was under the impression you could turn off traction control but not stability management on most Mercedes without going through a chain of hidden commands. I've not tried personally (my fun budget doesn't stretch that far ) so I'll bow to greater knowledge

When you turn traction control from normal menu it reduces ESP also, letting smooth driver play really lot, personally that suits my needs, it won't show presence practically at all, i could do donuts, 8's, 200m powerslides, swing my tail as much I want, BUT you have to do it smoothly, front tires rolling speed can't vary or it uses brakes, so Scandinavian flick is really hard to do. Then comes that your mentioned "secret menu", not so secret, go and ask from Merc dealer how to get car on dyno mode (Rig Test Mode) and they'll tell, or just googling.. :) picking ABS fuse out is working also on Merc.

I prefer more BMW way, on/partially_off and long press full off, leaving ABS.

I watched an episode of 5th Gear recently where Tiff Needell was hot lapping an AMG ML63. He manually switched everything off but was still experiencing the power cut explained above. Maybe someone should send him an email about dyno mode.
I'm all for these switches/modes but off should mean off not off with a * followed by small print.
