Brilliant review mate. Thanks a lot. Once the event is over I'm going to rework the tunes to see what I can come up with
Supersport Class Testing

This was a better car and track combo for me. Certainly wiped all the M scores away!!

All cars tested for 10 laps, using DS3 (x go,square stop, d-pads for steering), using auto transmission. All aids off except ABS1 and driving line.

Easy car to be consistent in. Throttle control needed on exit of the slower corners. Has good turn in and rotation with a hint of brake release oversteer. Good effort.

Stable under braking with good turn in and rotation. Very difficult to get on the power for me though. Couldn't really push the car. Could easily run mid 02's if it didn't need as much throttle control, even though it's down on power.

A car that feels like it has good balance if you can be consistent enough. Not very forgiving of my mistakes. Stable and predictable under braking with good turn in and rotation. Throttle control required on exit. The oversteer can also catch you out. Laptimes were all over the place with 5 out of the 10 what I would call decent.

Good solid tune. Excellent under braking. Easy to get the power down early on exit. If you could get some extra rotation without compromising exit speed, it would easily be faster. The most consistent of the bunch. Bravo sir.

Easy to set consistent lap times. Good turn in and exit grip. Would have liked a little more rotation for the slower corners providing you could do it without affecting exit grip. Good effort.

Good turn in and rotation. Transmission worked well in auto. Good under braking but the lack of traction for me on exit hurt lap times.

Typical feeling TT car. Quite loose but very quick. Once you get used to the rear following you round, and getting on the power early, it rewards. However much you're tempted to clip the kerbs, and you will be tempted as the turn in is so good, don't, you'll regret it if you do! Well done.

Took a while to settle into. Once dialled in and throttle control worked out, produced a quick time. Wasn't consistent though. Only 2 out of the 10 in the 01's. Good turn in and rotation. Stable under braking but the lack of grip under acceleration cost a quicker time.

Open Track Day Class Testing

All tunes were given 9 laps due to time limitations on my part. Tested with DS3, AT transmission and X button. I didn’t feel like captain slow in these cars for some reason. The standard of submissions for this class was supreme and I thoroughly enjoyed testing all of your tunes. Anyway, here are the reviews.

@TheInfamousJEW6
Best Lap Time – 2.08.163
DC – 11th
Tune Comments – A little loose in the rear at times, not enough grip for some corner exit and occasionally inconsistent with turn in when going through a quick succession of corners. However, Great transmission, LSD works well with the 50:50 weight distribution and although weighing nearly 1.5 tonnes, it didn’t feel slow or cumbersome. Had good balance if you were on the right lines and if I could get throttle control perfect, it flowed through the esses very nicely. A bit more grip and this tune would have jumped in DC. A good job with a car that is not very easy to tune for this track. Well done.

@Otaliema
Best Lap Time – 2.06.444
DC – 9th
Tune Comments – I will start with good things, Transmission well designed, the gear spacing was really good which helped control wheel spin. Front rotation was good, nice levels of grip available at all times through the 4wd design. Awesome breaks though. Very good at stopping in a stable and efficient manner. A few issues I had personally was mid corner understeer which caused me to red lap quite a few times and the transmission final gear was a little short for me. This tune was easy to spin if you caught a part of the track that wasn’t tarmac and although the Lift off steering did help safe some accidents, it caused the car to become too twitchy at times for me costing me time. I could drive round some of these issues but it took a lot of concentration and I was never entirely sure what the car was going to do.

@Bowtie-muscle
Best Lap Time – 2.06.300
DC – 1st
Tune Comments – Everything about this tune worked wonderfully. It was driver intuitive, great grip, great rotation, well designed transmission and joyous to drive. Neutral balance throughout the esses and easy to place and change driving lines when needed. Epic tune and I will be keeping the keys to this one.

@joaosoarescso
Best Lap Time – 2.07.442
DC – 10th
Tune Comments – This RWD CTR2 is strange to drive at first but round about lap 7, it started coming together. It wasn’t an easy tune to adapt to and it was twitchy coming out of the hairpin bends. The rears could also spin up and lose traction out of slow corners if you weren’t careful with the throttle. Finding the balance is key to this tune and I found it twice in 9 laps. Now for the good things. Good front rotation, well designed transmission and the LSD was perfect when you was in the groove. The brakes were also very good. Inconsistency was this cars Achilles heel for me. A good attempt though.

@Brewguy44
Best Lap Time – 2.05.981
DC – 3rd
Tune Comments – Good rotation, well balanced, really good brakes, transmission well designed, weight distribution felt easy to drive with and this tune was consistent in lap times. I noticed a small amount of mid corner understeer at times but nothing that hurt the lap time drastically. This is a really good tune and one that I could have driven around all day long. Awesome work.

@lBt_33
Best Lap Time – 2.06.354
DC – 8th
Tune Comments – The front rotation is good, Corner entry is snug but grippy although I detected minor understeer at times mid corner. The loose rear was effective at helping guide the car through some corners but it also created some power over steer moments which caused the car instability and cost lap time. The brakes were excellent but the transmission was a little too long in the final gear. It could have been shorter and helped with quicker acceleration to top speeds. A good tune and with a few minor tweaks, this could be up with the top tunes for me. Well done.

@coryclifford
Best Lap Time – 2.05.311
DC – 7th
Tune Comments – You have changed very little on the tune and for the most part, the tune feels good to drive. There were a few issues with LSD where the rears would spin out accelerating out of slow corners and the brakes were not always consistent in their stopping power (in part down to the same LSD levels front and rear). Transmission felt sluggish compared to other cars but it had no actual effect on the lap time it could produce. A little trickery here could have made this car awesomely quick. The front rotation was good, balance of the car was good but it could develop power oversteer if you weren’t careful. A nice tune but this could have been top with a few more changes to the default settings.

@hall90
Best Lap Time – 2.06.946
DC – 5th
Tune Comments – A safe, aggressive tune that inspires confidence and makes me feel like a better driver in this tune. Push this tune too far, it has a tendency to understeer but only when you reach the limits of this car. Great turn in, very good rotation and mid corner stability. The corner exit was very good too. Brakes were awesome as was the transmission design. An excellent example of 4wd tuning that is safe and fast. The only issue I had with this tune is slight understeer on some of the fast corners but to change that would upset the balance of this amazing tune in my opinion. Great job!

@shaunm80
Best Lap Time – 2.05.342
DC – 2nd
Tune Comments – Good rotation and grip. Inspires confidence. Brakes are good and consistent. Good transmission design which helps with traction and LSD settings that help minimise wheel spin. A consistent tune that tells the driver exactly what is going on, and is easy to save should you reach the limits of the car.

@Ale67
Best Lap Time – 2.05.652
DC – 6th
Tune Comments – Good rear traction out of the slow corners, great front rotation and good acceleration too. I detected some mid corner understeer, which caused me a few issues, but managed to drive my way around it with some throttle blipping. Whilst this tune is confidence inspiring, I had to take it easy in some parts of the track that were flat (full acceleration) for other tunes but again, this didn’t seem to hurt the lap time too much. One issue was the transmission. It was too short for me and I was bouncing near the redline on the end of the long straights, the final gear needed to be a little longer but otherwise, this tune is pretty good indeed. Good work.

@xande1959
Best Lap Time – 2.05.841
DC – 4th
Tune Comments – Great rotation, good grip levels, can get a little feisty at times but is very controllable, As you mentioned, understeer can appear but it isn’t too bad at all and it doesn’t affect the lap time either. Transmission is a little short, could have been extended a bit. Really nice tune and very nice to drive. Like brewguy, RUF cars seem to suit you. Good job.

Yes it feels different from the rest and I think that AT transmission was for sure it's down fall. This is a MT car for sure but great effort.

Now then it wasn't all scary wasn't it.

Great job!

Best Lap Time – 2.05.652

Good work.
Thank you for your kind words, I can only hope the other testers can adapt to it as well as you seemed to. Was unsure of it, lap time about what I expected from you so I'm happy. Now, you seemed to find some good times in the others, your gonna have to stop calling yourself Mr Slow. Great driving đź‘Ť

As I promised, I took the top CTR2's out to see if a good car is hiding within. At first I started without CR and I thought, what a piece of 🤬. With it installed the car was transformed, I could not believe the difference it made. Had I known it would have this big of an effect, I might have submitted a tune too.

@coryclifford
Loved your tune and it's pretty much how I would have made mine, albeit with a little bit more rotation. Excellent on throttle balance between 4WD split and front/rear grip. Felt very go-kart, very RGT like in the S-Curves. Was an absolute dog without CR though. I was around mid 2's after a few laps.

@Bowtie-muscle
Took yours out second and unfortunately at least for me it wasn't as good as cory's. Wasn't as agile in the S-Curves with significantly more understeer and reluctance present. If I wasn't perfect in the entry it was impossible to recover relative to the ghost because the car would just push wide. Rest of the lap was relatively equal due to the long straights. I was around the low/mid 3's.

@TheInfamousJEW6
Best Lap Time – 2.08.163
DC – 10th
Tune Comments – A little loose in the rear at times, not enough grip for some corner exit and occasionally inconsistent with turn in when going through a quick succession of corners. However, Great transmission, LSD works well with the 50:50 weight distribution and although weighing nearly 1.5 tonnes, it didn’t feel slow or cumbersome. Had good balance if you were on the right lines and if I could get throttle control perfect, it flowed through the esses very nicely. A bit more grip and this tune would have jumped in DC. A good job with a car that is not very easy to tune for this track. Well done.

@Otaliema
Best Lap Time – 2.06.444
DC – 8th

@Bowtie-muscle

@joaosoarescso
Best Lap Time – 2.07.442
DC – 9th

@Brewguy44

@lBt_33
Best Lap Time – 2.06.354
DC – 7th
Tune Comments – The front rotation is good, Corner entry is snug but grippy although I detected minor understeer at times mid corner. The loose rear was effective at helping guide the car through some corners but it also created some power over steer moments which caused the car instability and cost lap time. The brakes were excellent but the transmission was a little too long in the final gear. It could have been shorter and helped with quicker acceleration to top speeds. A good tune and with a few minor tweaks, this could be up with the top tunes for me. Well done.

@coryclifford
Best Lap Time – 2.05.311
DC – 6th

Thanks @shaunm80 for the great review, đź‘Ť it's good to know that I got these RUF's some good tunes.

I've always liked the RUF car's, since GT didn't have Porsche's :( :lol:

@shaunm80 ty on the drive. Sorry it was a dog for you.
I knew the tranny was "short" but I didn't gain any speed if I made it longer just took more track to get the same speed so went short to speed it up and lower the lap time. The mid corner you found was the one thing I could't never get right, gonna have to take some of these cars out and see what they did to them to make them more stable.
I'll get your times loaded shortly along with @biffa3? I think it is.

Thank you for the review.

Yes it feels different from the rest and I think that AT transmission was for sure it's down fall. This is a MT car for sure but great effort.

Now then it wasn't all scary wasn't it.
It wasn't as scary as it looked but it could still be a handful at times. :)
Thanks Shaun. 6th, but fastest time :D

I'll take that. đź‘Ť
I was surprised about the fastest time in all honesty, with so little changes to the transmission, I would have thought that a specially tuned transmission would have been faster but your entry was a surprise in the lap time department.
Thank you for your kind words, I can only hope the other testers can adapt to it as well as you seemed to. Was unsure of it, lap time about what I expected from you so I'm happy. I felt pretty quick in the RUFs. Quicker than I am usually that is. Captain Slow might reappear on a later event but I can safely say that I am not him this time around. Oh dear, this does mean that I have become the Hamster of the TG trio? Anyway, great job on your tune and as always, your tuning style always seems to mirror my own which often explains why I enjoy testing your tunes.

Well, you have taken two of the tunes out. Testing for this class goes on for ages yet, you wanna take out the other 8 tunes and do a proper test/review? It would be good to get an aliens perspective in this class. :)

You have created some great tunes for this event. RUF seems to suit you and your tuning style! Keep it up mate, It is nice to see new tuners coming to FITT and making us vets work harder for the podium spots. :)

Ah okay, now that you have said about the transmission, it makes more sense. It wasn't a dog as such, that is a bit harsh, unpredictable and unstable at times for me but I am sure that another tester will extract more out of your tune that I managed too. Test any of the top 5 tunes for stability in the mid corner and that might help you figure out your understeer issues.
@shaunm80 Thanks for the very constructive criticisms. đź‘Ť I'm still trying to learn how to tune 4WD cars, so all the input I can get from these reviews is much appreciated! I will be revisiting this one after the reviews and updating in my garage too! Thanks again! :cheers:
First of all, your tune had potential and it is easy to get your tune to the other times set. Lose some weight, retain your current tune balance through suspension and weight transfer (when you hit the brakes) and dial in the rear a little so it has more grip on corner exit. If you can do that, you will have a very nice RUF indeed.
