This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Fittipaldi Vision GT Car Vanishes From Gran Turismo 7

If you’ve been keeping yourself in the loop with the latest Gran Turismo 7 news, you might have noticed one glaring absence from the most recent update to the car list. While almost every car from GT Sport is now confirmed to be on GT7’s roster of vehicles, one appears to have been removed: the Fittipaldi EF7 Vision Gran Turismo...

Well just about everything for this car down to the real-life examples that were going to be built turned out to be vapourware. So it’s likely that somehow the licensing dried up when the real-life company and agreements behind it disappeared.

It’s somewhat of a shame because it’s one of the more realistic VGT cars and probably would have been much more useful in GT7 than Sport.

Great article @Famine, now how about the (supposed) absence of the Lewis Hamilton cars? The W08, its color variant, and the LH Ed. AMG VGT?

I'm not so fussed by the Porsche - we've literally seen it in GT7 already. We've also seen the W08s in a GT7 car list behind Kazunori during a BTS video - and their absence from the 400-car grid can be explained by a weird filename pushing them onto row 21.

As for the LH edition Mercedes... no clue.

is there any other brand which has only a VGT in their lineup? its possible that vision gt cars are available somewhere else.

Porsche? What Porsche? Did I even mention Porsche?

Most interesting thing about this car I think was it came with private lessons from F1 Champ and Indy winner, Fittipaldi. Which is a pretty rare opportunity and unique marketing.

After all, the launch day car list hasn't been finalized, nothing has been seen on the official website as of yet, so there's a chance the Fittipaldi could still be in the game (as with the case of the Mercedes F1 cars and the LH edition of the Mercedes-AMG VGT), and you have to remember that the build shown in the State of Play was as recent as early-to-mid December to some time more than last week - January 27th. Who knows, there could still be content that Polyphony aren't even showing us yet.

But yeah, whatever happened to the 39-car limited production run is legend. I guess Emerson Fittipaldi moved on to other things he had in mind.

The... Porsche Vision GT which is also not in the 400-car grid.
I believe that the LH AMG VGT was seen behind Kaz during the “car index” section of “The Starting Line”. Unfortunately I don’t have a 4K compatible monitor just to zoom and enhance.

I’d really hope it returns in GT7, but if not, I’d be very content with some of Pininfarina’s other modern designs, like the Ferrari Sergio and the Pininfarina Battista. Maybe they’ll draft a new VGT that’d actually be listed as a Pininfarina model.

As for what actually happened to the EF7, I bet it could be a bit like what the article mentions regarding the Deltawing - too many companies involved simultaneously.

It’s a bit too bad because Pininfarina is by and far my absolute favorite design house, even for their non-car projects, like their architecture.

Unrelated, but some one (mods) needs to add this to main page.

There's a possibility that this project is related to Sony's future vehicles instead of GT7. If it was related to GT7's AI, I believe last week's State of Play was the ideal place and moment to reveal it.

The difference with the Merc F1 cars is we have seen them in game in one form or another. The EF7 has been actively removed from any media that showed it.
