I liked the front end because it reminded of Racer X car from Speed Racer 😂
I was remembering, "didn't I make one of these?"
Close, but no cigar. I used the Zagato VGT. Still cool. 😎

I'm suprised by the amount of people who despise the Fittipaldi or never drove it and still judge it.
It is one of the best handling and performance cars in GTS.

Personally my favourite.
Yeah was great fun to drive, about as quick as a maxed Gr.3 with a better top end. I've said it before already, but it's entire spec and top speed reminds of a modern mid 90's GT1 car. Maybe if you were to class this car it could have fit in between Gr.3 and Gr.2. A place where the F1 GTR might of fit as well.

In the end it never had much use like many Gr.x VGT's, but was definitely one of the most realistic ones which I respected a lot. The fact that it was easily forgotten(like many of the limited tuning option cars) made it a unicorn. This unassuming VGT, was good for bullying maxed GR.3's P1 GTR's and (aptly tuned) Pagani R's in TF track day lobbies though:lol:. Track days and offline TT's being all that I've been doing in the death throws of GTS, I will miss it in this regard.

To be honest, I drove that thing, after I got it gifted once. Was ok, but neither the look or the story behind got my attention. It has a super generic "how-would-a-child-draw-a-racecar" design. So I don't mind not having it in GT7.

I miss much more the absence of some iconic sportscars like the Ferrari F355, F360, F458 and Cizeta V16T, Bugatti EB110, Porsche 959, etc. as well some iconic old F1 cars!

It's still listed on the GT website. Don't know if the license expiring automatically means it must taken down however.

It's a shame personally. I always loved the design, and it's one of the more realistic performing VGTs. The default setup and gearing could be better (as usual), but it's a decent performer out of the box.

Possibly but isn't that a bit strange? Talking about the future of gaming meanwhile showing old footage?
It’s a journal of the progress. Showing where the AI started and it’s continuation. All of this was under wraps to Us until today. Thats the footage. It is ironic to see the EF7 on screen.

I might be wrong but wasn't the Fittipaldi shown yesterday in the background during the AI presentation?
I might be wrong too, but from what I remember everything that was in the background and even gameplay was GT Sport.
That location behind the Fittipaldi is the default one we see everyday in the GTS slideshow.

In GT7 they delete the Fittipaldi from a picture in the GT Cafe, something only a handfull of people would ever had noticed. But when they announce the biggest breakthrough in AI for Polyphony they show the car on a big screen right behind Kaz? GTS is full with cars that are not in the game but still they are shown in the museum or in scapes, so why would they delete the Fittipaldi from that picture but show it later during a big announcement? I'm probably overthinking this but to me it seems strange...

As I said it's GT Sport. Jordan wrote it in the article and it was shown in the video of the player vs Sophy:

"More specifically, Sophy was taught to master three specific skills in GT Sport: car control, racing tactics, and racing etiquette."

You can't remove one slideshow image from the previous (present) game just because you don't want to give false hopes. They aren't even thinking about it. There are way more important things to take care of.

But return in GT8 in the future
That seems unlikely given the legal nature of it all. Do you have information or evidence worth dredging this 18-month old thread up for?

What a shame, I was looking for this car in GT7 but couldn't find it, now I know why, one of the better looking VGT cars along with the Toyota and the Lexus. 😢

If you watch the Paris keynote, the Fittipaldi isn't in the list of VGTs (though likely they pulled it from the list of GT7's VGTs that aren't class-tuned).
