"Clean" means no contact at all, at least to me. I kind of figured he was going to dive in there, so I gave him quite a bit of room. Looks like he needed more.
I actually wanted the outside so I started moving up but when you did the same, it took me by surprise and I almost hit you in the back trying to tuck back inside. By then, I knew with the junk tires and extra speed, we were going to scrap some paint.

I might post the practice race video of me against Adam showing what I wanted to do at that hairpin. It worked and I won...barely. :dopey:

Edit: Posted video a few posts down 👍
I agree. I think Outlaw did the right thing in letting up on the throttle after running so wide into Turbo.
I seriously thought I sent him into the dirt so I let up...until I heard his car accelerating and my instincts took over. Turbo didn't quite buy my argument, though.

Great driving! To be that good is something we can all aspire to. I'd love to see the whole race, I hope someone can post the GT5 replay files. I've learned a lot by watching the earlier replays. Of course, knowing what someone does is not the same as knowing how to duplicate it.

Here's to your close finish and hoping to see more like that!

Good news! Here's a closer finish.

This was sometime last week in Adam's lobby. I hope this inspires the other drivers in D1 that yes, he is not 100% invincible.

That's not SPEC Miata, that's drag racing 👍

Yeah, I would have lifted too.
Should have gotten more draft in the S before the chicane tho. :P

I posted the one for Div3 in the big post with the results graphics and such back in the page 130-something.

It depends on how the contact is. If its a hard contact enough to throw you to the grass or make you go wide, then yes its dirty, but if its rubbing driving, its clean. In outlaw's video I believe outlaw did the right thing as he braked a bit too late and pushed you. I can show a lot of contact and all of it being clean and exciting:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXkWUCBoe4k This is REAL and exciting racing, in my opinion. Not what we watch today. No taking out to the grass or forcing drivers to go wide, only a lot of contact but clean.

Good stuff! Adam and joshua1994 had a good battle in the early laps of D1, swapping the lead a number of times. No one is invincible, everyone makes mistakes (some more than others :dopey:.) I've watched lots of Adam's replays, he is fast and consistent as you know. Now if I could just duplicate his actions...

Thanks! I saw that, but I was looking for Div2.

To me, that looks like a bunch of people trying to pretend they're the only ones on the track.
(take notice the two cars in the first 30 seconds that just change line literally into the side of other cars)

As for GT5, anytime you come up from the inside and make contact, whether you push the outside car into grass or not, you've screwed them through the corner, and owe them the spot back. (minor bumps that don't cause the outside car to slide would be an exception)
The irony is, had he held the inside, he had the line to take the win.:ouch:

For me that is great and exciting racing. There is better, just search for 90's BTCC racing and you'll just be shocked. Racing at its best and contact pretty much every second. I think GT5 is too sensitive when it comes to contact, a little touch and the car just flies!! They seriously need to improve that so we can even some bloody, tough, hard racing BUT clean!! I love that, thats why I love touring car racing and racing with slower cars, like the Miata for example or the Integra.

I guess it's hard to say, they weren't getting wiped out, so that's better.
But for as much as people talk about bad slipstream in GT5, nobody was ditching anybody in the part of video I watched.;)

I do enjoy small amounts of gentle paint trading, so maybe in GT6 we'll have better crash physics and have a shot at some closer action, who knows, by then maybe by then we'll all be so good we just don't make contact.

I guess I just like it a little rough  Dont get ideas now. Seriously, if its in real life then it should be acceptable in the game. Maybe GT6 will have better crash physics, like you said, and then we can have some great racing without any contact or with real, exciting but friendly contact. 👍

Just no "Nepalli's" ;)

Im not really an expert on this stuff but this is the one I have: http://www.staples.com/Netgear-N600...LA:71000000000227348:58000000007550148:886778 It works like a charm, I have 4 devices connected to it everyday and very rarely experience lag or connection drops. It even comes with a password in it, so you get private connection as soon as you set it up. 👍
Thanks for suggestion. Might buy a few and have a little deathmatch elimination between routers =)
Hopefully will settle on one before the free-for-all Turbo has planned for the 6+ placed.

Sorry for not being on most of the night guys, our internet went offline for a bit. Seems to be working fine now.

Anyway, I went over the D2 and D3 replays tonight to take some photos. I would just like to ask everyone to have a little more patience at the start of the race, in particular those that start in the back. I know sometimes contact is unavoidable, but waiting for the correct time to make a pass could certainly save you more time in the long run than being impatient and making a mistake.

I also noticed several people miss their braking points when behind a couple cars and having no choice but to make contact with them. Best thing to do when you are behind a couple cars that are duking it out for position is to brake earlier than you usually do. Doesn't have to be by much, but every little bit helps and you won't cause any accidents.

Yes.
It's pretty easy on most of these tracks to stick in the draft, and honestly, if you're that worried about keeping someone's draft, they're going to ditch you 9 times out of 10 anyway.
I stay behind guys faster then me by driving extra carefully, not extra aggressively. You just don't need to nail every corner or pass at every possible opportunity.
