My photos from Division 2 and Division 3 races have been uploaded to the Flickr page.

Edit: Not yet paul.

Edit 2: 3 spots open in D1, 1 spot open in D3.

Just rereading the past few pages here, a few comments:

The last laguna race should definitely not be reverse grid. It should be run qualifying as normal. Reverse grid, especially in a race like this is only going to cause the faster guys to have short patience that is likely to cause race issues that no one wants.

Racing in the rain is a bad idea, unless the race is dedicated to being a rain race. The fastest line is different and it's a whole different skill set to being fast in the rain, especially in GT5.

Clean passing is passing where no contact is made, or if there is contact, the car taking the hit is not affected by it. Anything more than that, and the car doing the hitting must give the spot back. If you clearly punt someone and don't give the spot back, don't come crying when you find yourself in the grass when the other driver decides to return the favor. :)

Sorry for not being on most of the night guys, our internet went offline for a bit. Seems to be working fine now.

Anyway, I went over the D2 and D3 replays tonight to take some photos. I would just like to ask everyone to have a little more patience at the start of the race, in particular those that start in the back. I know sometimes contact is unavoidable, but waiting for the correct time to make a pass could certainly save you more time in the long run than being impatient and making a mistake.

I also noticed several people miss their braking points when behind a couple cars and having no choice but to make contact with them. Best thing to do when you are behind a couple cars that are duking it out for position is to brake earlier than you usually do. Doesn't have to be by much, but every little bit helps and you won't cause any accidents.

I was probably one of those people you noticed missing their braking point on the first lap. For me it began with the latency I was dealing with on the first lap. Makes it hard to hit your braking point when the game doesnt respond to your input...

I think it is also fair to mention that a pass that is completed without contact but required the driver getting passed to dramatically alter/delay their corner turn-in to prevent a collision can also be considered a bit dirty.

Agreed, thanks for bringing that up brosif. Immediately, "late breaking" comes to mind. The car doing the passing must clearly be able to beat the other car in to the breaking zone and have the line unambiguously claimed (i.e. already beside the other car) at a point in time before the car being passed would begin their turn in on the normal racing line. If the car being passed has to make an "evasive maneuver" to avoid being punted off course, it is just as bad as being punted in the first place.

A good rule of thumb that I follow and preach to people in order to acheiving safe and proper passing ettiquette is this:

If you "think" you can make the pass clean, then you CAN'T.

If you "know" you can make the pass clean, then you PROBABLY CAN. :)

Bottom line, don't be overambitious. Like someone said here, better to finish a clean 2nd than a dirty 1st. I promise you, whether on the winning or losing end of it, you'll feel better about the result.

I've signed up for division 1 9uk time is that ok?

Perfect. Remember that we run the cars with no tuning allowed, and I'll need a photo of your car taken at the same angle as the rest in the 3rd post. 👍

Edit: Speaking of which, I have the photos for Stig and ketiux. Will put them up tonight.

Wardezemolo and I are looking pretty good down there in last and second-to-last in the points standings!

That being said, I am going to get this party started by guaranteeing a podium finish at Twin Cities Raceway Park for the #21 BrosifDudermobile! :D

Worst to first (or mid-pack, same difference), here we go!!!

Im going to make D3 drivers feel better by stating that I have no chance at all of winning this weekend. Im struggling to get into the 35's. Not to mention how hungry I am for the tires

I don't know if I'll be on tonight, and you'll probably be sleeping by the time I get home anyway.

Someone around here is bound to have a room open during the day though. 👍

Oh I wouldn't doubt it. :dopey:

Points in D2 are sure to get shaken up a bit this weekend.

Really? I thought at least you and Turbo had hit 34s before in practice races.

I can get in the high 35s but T11-12 (see map below) is where I know the one time I got it right, I got a 1:35.2 so I know that's the one corner I need to work on. Other than that, I'm pretty much content with the speed I have now and I'll have to settle for around 3rd-5th place.

QUOTE]

Yeah it actually feels good knowing I'm ahead of you guys in the standings, even if it is just because you haven't finished a race yet

My goal for Twin Cities, staying on the track and facing the right direction. If I can do that for an entire race I might actually get a decent finish.

Who has it?

Edit: is it called Alfa fields curcuit?

No it is called TWIN CITIES RACEWAY PARK. The name of the track is posted ALL over this page. You are going to need to friend someone who both HAS the track, and is ONLINE if you want it right now. :dunce:
