They are kind of talking about it the same as PD did the NASCAR, WRC, and Super GT licenses. I expect the same disappointments from people who buy this. It's why I am playing it down. They have yet to actually describe anything we didn't already have in FM3.
True, but folks should have known better than to suspect that GT was going to suddenly become a NASCAR or SuperGT game. But, maybe that's why they got so disappointed.

Regardless, I'm right there with you after seeing the pictures. It looks like we're just getting the same ALMS cars from FM3 plus a few new 2011 ones. I suspect at most, there will be an ALMS-type race in the career mode that tries to reflect the series' partnership.

Although I'm excited over the ALMS announcement, since I'm an ALMS/LMS fan, I too want to know more about how this license will be utilized in the game. I don't want the R series championships to be replaced simply with an ALMS logo.

It's not a matter of becoming a NASCAR, SuperGT, or ALMS game. It's just a matter of adding more than just a bunch of cars and a handful of tracks. And patch another sticker on a few events. We'll see. Actually I think Turn10 don't really want to make that big of a fuss about ALMS. Which is clever, because it's obvious we're only gonna get what we already had in FM3, plus a little more. So hyping this partnership is just gonna lead to disappointment.

The way I see it, the "issue" about GT5 is that they made huge announcements "NASCAR license!", "WRC license!" and just included official cars, a handful of tracks (which are all mostly fictional), and patched newfound stickers on a few events.

Yeah, agreed, T10 better keept a bit silent about that to not build up a hype they'll never fulfill... If they started advertising the ALMS partnership like their TopGear partnership, it would probably lead to massive expatations.

On the other hand, that annoucnement probably is enough to do that already :sly:

t.o.
If you're talking about the two BMW pics with the large one then yeah the large one is real and the smaller one is FM4

If you're talking about my videos they are all FM3 vids

Or you can race in my Rolex/Continenntal Tire Series I've been running in FM3 for the past month ;)

If you're talking about my vids then again this is FM3.
I just saw this on forza forums this is amazing stuff you done, I work in the grand am series for continental tire and youve got alot of these cars down! Just wish there was more real tracks.

This one says it all..

After seeing a comparison I must retract my statements. That IBL does really help alot.

Ok, I was beginning to wonder about you. lol. If you couldn't see the difference I didn't know what was going on with you there. One thing I notice about graphics in general is that when moving up in quality sometimes it's difficult or it's not as obvious to see the advancements. But once you go back to the old stuff it then becomes GLARINGLY obvious how much better the new stuff is. Same with HDTV. Alot of people see the picture is sharper when they turn to an HD channel but it doesn't really catch their eye so much. But after they've been watching the HD channels for a while and then go back to SD material that's when they really can appreciate the HD stuff because the SD just looks bad in comparison when you're eyes are used to the good stuff.

^ This happens with all kind of domains. Experiencing higher quality stuff may not always lead to obvious "that's better", but getting accustomed to it and then going back to lower quality stuff often lead to slaps in the face "omg that's atrocious".

Yep, the more I think about it you're right. All kinds of domains. I like to have a drink or two. Used to drink Johnny Walker Red, then started with Black. Noticed it was smoother and what not, tasted the "upgrade" but no biggie. After a few months went back to Red and it tasted as if I was swallowing razor blades. lol
