I do not think that PD ever look at this website, but as I was complaining about the lack of creativity in another thread, I thought we could come up with our own ideas of how to make Gran Turismo more interesting.

I hope we can come up with some genuinely interesting ideas, well apart from the ones I suggest below!

Tag - In a large space, try to tag the rear of other players, while not being tapped yourself. When tapped, the game ends for that player. Last one standing is the winner. When players are out, the car is left in the arena.

Passed Out - The size of the circuit will determine the number of players. Northern Isle - 2 or 3. Le Mans - 16 to 20. Players begin equidistant a part. When a player gets overtaken, then they are out. The last one running is the winner. Tire wear and fuel consumption should be on. Have to hit sector times to remain running - so everyone tries to go in the same direction.

Distance Runner - no fixed time limit or a number of laps. Tire wear and fuel consumption, and quite high multipliers. The person who completes the most laps wins. Again, minimum sector times have to be achieved to remain in the event.

Against the AI, start first in a limited PP car. Get a head start, and the AI in higher-powered cars has to try to catch up. Bronze, silver and gold awards are based on the difficulty of the event. Reverse of chase the rabbit, but it could be quite fun. With weather, tire wear and fuel, then winning can be made to be very challenging. This mode could be added to custom races.

This all I can think of for now!

How about a mode where you start off with a basic car, and compete in a series of regional events and races.

As you win prize money from races, you can buy parts to upgrade the car or eventually trade it in for a better model. As you progress through championships more become available, including those in other regions. Eventually you aim to compete in the top-tier global world championship, which is 20 full-length races at the most iconic tracks in the world.

We have exactly what you said in NFS Shift, and Shift2: Unleashed
And it is not as good as I expected it to be. Considering NFS Shift physics are horrible

But in GT7, I think they overdone the "on rails" carreer with the cafe mode

The other night I suddenly woke up with a crazy idea... what if we could sell the cars from our garage we don't need anymore or don't want... Bombshell I know... but would be awesome to get rid of all the duplicate Sciroccos. If PD would put it in the game maybe people in real life will start selling their cars when they don't need or want to buy a new one.

It would have to happen a while from now but I think it would be cool to have full VR with current and retro vehicles and tracks. It would be wild to drive with a full view of the original version of Daytona oval in the NASCAR convertible division circa 1959 or Senna's F1 in the 1980's layout of Brands Hatch. That may motivate older people who otherwise would have never played video games to play as well.

I've got some even more innovative ideas that may truly shock you.

Imagine a limited-time collection of various races, time trials and drift trials with leaderboards and high rewards for completion, which refresh every week or two, bringing plenty of content to the game. We could call these "Seasonal Events".

Now imagine a setting in multiplayer lobbies that randomly picks from a selection of cars in a particular performance class, hands one out to each player, then lets them compete in a fun and fair way. We could call this one "Shuffle Mode".

Finally, imagine a feature that slowly increases the monetary rewards gained from events as you log in each day, culminating in a doubled prize count by the 5th day. This can be called the "Daily Login Bonus".

I reckon these three innovative and exciting features, which have never been done before in a GT game, would bring massive replay value to the game, and keep many players invested.

Oh no!!! I just love all my duplicate GT86/BTZs that GT7 keeps giving me. Why would I want to sell them?
Extreme sarcasm mode <OFF>

I thought we could come up with our own ideas of how to make Gran Turismo more interesting.
Why not just bring back previous features that they do know how to do?

Shuffle racing
Increased payouts for winning events with lower PP Cars
Actual endurance events with proper pit stops and weather
Grid start races with qualifying
Track limits that are realistic and work (especially for the AI)
Get rid of AI rubber banding or boost if you prefer that term.
Permanent damage (yes it should ruin your race or the AIs)
AI cars that aren't immoveable objects and are built like tanks
Real World tracks e.g Twin Ring Motegi, Monaco, Silverstone, Pikes Peak
Add more real World tracks Imola, Hockenheim, Misano, Mugello (sigh... so many great tracks)

OR just get rid of this STUPID chase the rabbit racing we always have! >:-(

PD should add a game we used to play in GT5 a lot, I think it originally came from Forza. You are split into teams with one driver being the puck, driving a slow car. The others the pushers/beaters. The object of the game is to get your 'puck' accross the finish first. Boost is on high, everything goes. Slow down the other teams pucks, bump draft your own.

How about a Cup of the Day style online tournament mode?

64 players, one lap hotlap on a random track with a random car. Everyone is ghosted so there's no collision.
Slowest four players are eliminated.
Repeat one lap at a time until top 16 where it's slowest 2 eliminated, then top 8 it's slowest 1.

Emphasises consistency and ability to recover a mistake into a passable lap. Great competitive mode for the hotlapping style player who doesn't want to deal with racecraft and crashers.

Admittedly, GT probably can't cope with 64 players even with no collision but even 20 person rounds could still be fun.

Have you played Trackmania Turbo? That has that mode with 100 people together. It's insane, cars flying everywhere. All ghosted, 10 minutes to set the best time.

I'm thinking we need a full contact mode so the crash kiddies can blow off steam there. Then harsh penalties in no contact race mode.

I haven't. I played the original Nations back in the day, and I've been getting into TM2020 this year and enjoying it a lot. The level of precision and consistency required to be good is extremely high, and the community is for the most part very friendly and encouraging.

It's a very niche game, but it does some things very well. I think Cup of the Day/Track of the Day and Seasonal Time Trials with regionally ranked leaderboards are a couple of great ideas that Gran Turismo could do with stealing. :)

I've said it time and time again, that they should make every car in the game available as rental cars in Arcade Races, Time Trials, Drift Trials, Custom Races and 2-Player Battle, besides the option to use cars from our Garage (similar to Forza's Free Play car selection).

When you crash your car, you get to pay $1 of real money to fix your car before you can use it again. This price will fluctuate based on dynamic information from a new technical partner PD will announce at a later date but will actually just be another insurance company.

I mean, under this model the AI that crashes into you becomes a brilliant design decision to maximise profit.

You can't innovate anymore, the franchise is perfect.

Jokes aside, they could do quite a few things:
-Make some open-world environments with procedurally-generated AI tech
-Allow the player to walk around a physical garage, be it their own or someone else's
-OEM interior customisation along with aftermarket customisation
-Different trim levels
-Dyno and ECU tuning
-Physically adding parts onto your car like Car Mechanic Simulator
-Real time pitstops where you can control one of the wheelguns
-Casting engine blocks and pistons
-Designing your own wheels and body kit
-Throwing out seats and other luxury items when doing a weight reduction

Nice thread..

They should Just talk to the guy who did GT5's hybrid editor and get him a job.
Then road tax everyone who uses it and implement dedicated hybrid lobbies.
they would make a killing and it would bring more players

Red Dirt Raceway in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. It's a short dirt oval that could be used in rally. Also OKC inner loop I-40 to I-44 to I-35 to Oklahoma City Boulevard to I-40. Grandstands would be in Scissortail Park and pits along Reno Avenue which runs not quite parallel to Oklahoma City Boulevard. They could even have it turn south at Robinson for a little bit, then run a hairpin at, say, SW 15th Street, then back north to Robinson with the pits along that one mike stretch. It's a very urban route with views of the Omni Hotel, the Devon Tower, the North Canadian River (which would need a few kayaks in it). They'd have to change the names of the retailers along I-44. Say change them to V-Mobility, GameGo, Wall Mark, Pepper's, etc. On the south side Omni, Flint, and Spark would probably stay the same.
What else... point to point runs down the back roads in Lincoln County, OK, and possibly a barn to store and work on the cars.
Also perhaps we could build an engine in game and test it. I'd start with the GM 350 petrol motor, a 2.0 air cooled Boxer, a Ford 4.6 Triton, and a twin rotor Mazda engine. The player decides what goes where, kinda like a puzzle, then installs the engine and races the car to see if it survives.
Also a way to input your own car, even if it cannot be raced.

Oh and more pickup trucks and SUV's! There are a ton of them:
Ford: 1995 Expedition, 1998 F-250 Lariat, 1998 Expedition and Navigator, all three generations of Lightning, 2001 Ranger EV NiMH (or that part available for it), 2008 Adrenalin, 2000 Lincoln Blackwood, 2007 Mark LT, 2011 Tremor, 2011 Raptor, 2013 F-150 STX, 1996 Bronco, 1988 Bronco II ...
GM: 1985 Scottsdale, 1984 Heavy Half, 1990-ish 454SS, a Syclone, 1986 Sierra Classic K-25 with the chance for a 6.2 Diesel swap ... Any Suburban...
Kaiser: 1968 2.5 ton and 5 ton 6x6.

Any Kei trucks.

Why more? For truck races but also for truck pulls too!

Thought of something else: with the Oklahoma City track, Hagerty's would sell a white 1980 Chevrolet Citation. That particular car sits on display at the OK State Fairgrounds, it's the very first FF vehicle produced by GM and was built in the now defunct Oklahoma City plant.

1. More camera options,(option to remove the hands/arms and wheel in cockpit view), more FOV range.

2. When you get a car from a reward if you already own it give the option to keep it or sell it, option to sell cars and parts in a online broker so people can make a real used car market.

3. For people ho enjoy single player like some people mentioned before, a career that people start with a basic car and along the way more events will be unlocked that need better cars/race cars, this could be a good way to give use to some cars that people only use once or to keep in the collection, also put some Drag events in it, money, skins, parts many diferent prices to complement roullet has prices in this career mode.
About drag some new locations could be added so people could make drag races and drift, some place inspired in RL with a parking lot...,a big bridge like bridge Vasco da Gama to compete with tunned cars etc.

4. When people increase their driver rank give some kind of reward, and increased rewards(money/roullet chance) for people that maintain S safty rank.

I have always daydreamed about the following, I know it will never happen, and probably impossible:

Make a gran turismo manager game, but instead of using AI drivers, make the game interact with GT7. You can hire real life drivers to use your car in the dailies or whatever competition. You can make the car better, have budget etc.

Idea 2:
Just a fun idea for lobbies:

Instead of driving a couple of laps around a track, assign a track section( like the licenses have), everyone gets 2 or however many minutes to set their fastest sector time. You can load any other drivers ghost at any time. If one round is over the game loads the next one up straightaway. Every round gets points scored, whoever has most points end of the round is declared winner. Can be random track and car, or set up beforehand by host.

not that innovative & not really hard to add I'd imagine but i want Redline tyres or tires in the editor ............not a lot to ask for ?
