They're going all Jaguar/Land Rover with that shifter.
That console in the middle will work, won't it?What is up with that stupid knob? Make a small gear stick or put the knob somewhere that isn't going to be completely in the way. If that knob weren't there, you could have a place to put your phone, etc. What a waste of space.

Err, wouldn't a gear stick use the same amount of space? What is up with that stupid knob? Make a small gear stick or put the knob somewhere that isn't going to be completely in the way. If that knob weren't there, you could have a place to put your phone, etc. What a waste of space.

A gear stick is a quarter inch diameter. A gear knob is pi*3 inches of wasted space.
Hell, at least make it properly if you do it.What is up with that stupid knob?

I guess they just hoped that no one wants to use S.
You know, with these buttons on the steering wheels, I'm surprised no one has figured a way to retrofit a "QWERTY" pad on there. I prefer a bare steering wheel myself. Might as well go all out for the technos.

So I better hold on to my ST220.I couldn't be less excited for this if it was behind a wall of drying paint.
The Mondeo is a car that weighs a full 1400kg with a 1-litre engine, as sold in Europe. 1600kg with a 2-litre diesel and some leather seats. With a bigger engine still and all-wheel drive it'll be what, 1700kg plus? Maybe 1800kg? And almost certainly cost more than a V8 Mustang. And look like a rep-spec diesel with some bling wheels and a heavy-handed bodykit.
The Mondeo hasn't been an interesting or attractive car since the ST220 disappeared and hasn't really driven with any finesse since the last generation. Filling it with lots of power doesn't suddenly make it an appealing car.
In some countries such as USA where the V8 is already relatively inexpensive that probably is the case. But, here for instance, I doubt that the Mondeo Sport, if they'll ever make one for the Euro market, will cost 25,000€ more than the Focus RS, or almost twice as much as the 2.0 Mondeo with the highest trim line. And almost certainly cost more than a V8 Mustang.
I can only speak for the UK, but here the Mustang V8 costs £34k and the Focus RS is £29,995.In some countries such as USA where the V8 is already relatively inexpensive that probably is the case.
