No, GM doesnt have the worst interiors, not by a long-shot. I'd say that title has shifted to either Nissan or Dodge/Chrysler. Low-rent plastics, poor surfacing, and poor build quality are to blame. Atleast with GM they look nice and feel okay, and I have already made it pretty clear that the Civic is quite dissapointing from Honda, as well as a lot of the new Toyota lineup.

Really...? Never expected that kind of an answer. I always thought GM had the worst interior, thats part of the reason why they were losing sales.

Of course, the big part is the never-ending prejudice against GM.

GM doesn't have the worst interiors...that would have to be Dodge.

LED as in the actual LED things, not some cheap copy of it using many small light bulbs. The actual LED you see in electronics. I believe it is a pricey solution to the tail lights, and to my knowledge only the new 3 series other than Azera has them.

No, they are LEDs alright..not fake reflected from bulbs.

LEDs are cheap....and last long plust bright and fast.

The European Accord is called the Acura TSX in the United States...

Yours (our TSX):

Ours (real Accord, lol)

The Azera technically isnt in the same class as the American Accord, but it is priced similarly, and if I'm getting more for my money, why not?

Yours is the americanized aka supersized accord although i beleive the interior is still the same. Only exterior is different.

The original accord is the Euro accord like the JDM model.

Even SEA gets the american version. Reason: bigger = better over here.]

They look somewhat similar, but they are different. The American Accord's Interior is larger, and IMO a bit more comfortable for lengthy-drives.

...Really? That is rather interesting! I presumed it was going to be the same as the TSX's, but yours almost looks like it is of a higher class than the Acura version...

Isn't the TSX (& UK Accord) on the same chassis as the US-spec Accord? I think it is the same car just with different bodywork. Just like the M45 is on a slightly modified Maxima chassis.

Maxima=FWD
M45=RWD

What exactly do you consider "slightly modified" the FX35/45, 350Z, G35 and whatnot are on the same chassis.

I really love that yellow woodgrain trim, but it's hard to judge it from that pic. Interior looks really nice though. As for the Fusion, its' interior is done just right. I'd love to have a 4 banger with 5spd and dual exhaust(DUAL!). If I was looking for bit more luxury ride(old people ride), I would love an Camry. With my current taste, I'd go with Fusion. I'd replace the grill with the aftermarket though.

Our accord interior looks like this:

Good find! It looks just like our Accord interior, rather than the Acura TSX. Very interesting.

Hell, for the price of the Accord EV V6 with leather and the 5-speed auto, just buy the Azera...

Hyundai2006Azera01.jpg

It is a really nice car, and can be fully equipped for right around $30K. I was really impressed with the car at the Chicago Auto Show, and if I had the money, there is a good chance that an Azera would be pretty high on my list of wanted automobiles...
I don't want to sound like a hater or anything, but it looks really lame. Everytime I see one, it reminds me of the Mazda Millenia, which also was a very outdated looking car.

The Azera actually reminds me more of the Acura RL (Honda Legend) than anything else...

Hmm, thats contradicting....not many cars have LED tail lights or headlights. Why is it so rare then?

Azera reminds me of Infiniti I35 or J35 sort of....but again, thats me.

I35, RL(I call 'em earl), they are all pretty lame looking.

LED is still pretty new to passenger cars. I've been seeing them on FedEx trucks and semis, long before they started putting LEDs on cars. Unlike HIDs, LED technology is cheap, so I'm sure this one will catch on quick. :)

I know the drivetrains of the Maxima and M45 having sold one for a living and driven both. And after researching I've found out that I was indeed wrong. The Maxima is on a FF-L platform and the M45 is on the FM platform. But, I'm still certain the TSX is basically an Accord with different body moldings and the like.

LED headlights have to be severally projected and really bright in order to shoot down the road far enough. LED tail lights have to be wired differently then normal bulbs or they will blink fast, I guess auto makers don't feel like spending the money to do that.

According to the Wiki:

In 2003, the North American Accord grew even larger to satisfy American demands, while the worldwide Accord (the European and Japenese models) were redesigned without as much of an increase in size. Comparing the two different Accords, it is clear that the North American version is distinct from the worldwode model, with worldwide model being sportier and the North American model being heftier and larger. The F-series VTEC engines made its debut in the European and Japanese Accords, and the 90° C-series V6 engine was replaced by a more-compact 60° J-series unit for the US Accord. Honda offered the North American Accord in a number of Asian markets, with mixed sales. Both variants of the Accord are sold in Australia -- the North American model and the worldwide model. The worldwide model sold in Australia is called the "Accord Euro". The worldwide Accord is sold in North America as the Acura TSX, where as the USDM Accord is sold in Japan as the Inspire. Each model had a number of minor differences. The worldwide model offered a number of hi-tech features not seen elsewhere in the North American range, and minor adjustments to body styling. The Japanese Accord and Inspire also feature Honda's Intelligent Driver System or HIDS which feature safety enhancements such as the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and adaptive cruise control.

Ummm, I guess so. What I take from it is that the European and Aisian Accord is in it's true form, but the American version is enlarged overall to meet the demands of the American market (not because we are fat, but because our car class sizes are larger).

 Hahahaha some good comment!

It is true though, North America is the fattest continent on average?

As I have read, North America is the "fattest" region in the world, but Europe is catching up fast. I know that Michigan (where I live) is the fattest state in the Union, Detroit being the fattest city in the state... I have also read that in some studies of men, more than 70% of American males are overweight, and more than 60% of American females are overweight as well.

To compare it to the Europeans, it is not nearly as drastic, but if I recall the figures correctly, they expect the obesity rate in Europe to climb 22% by 2010.

Keep in mind, though, that overweight =/= obesity. So the popular stereotype of the morbidly obese American isn't as justified as those statistics make it seem.

+1 I'm overweight, but I would not be deemed as fat--no matter how fat I FEEL. :sly: I think there are alot of OBESE people in the USA--and that's what the world sees. But Europe is just as "fat" as the US--they just don't seem to have as many obese people that I've seen. *shrugs*

Can you clarify that?

Everything is determined by your BMI (Body Mass Index) which is determined by combining figures for your height, weight, and body fat content to decide how healthy you are. Under 20 BMI signals that you are underweight, over 25 is considered to be overweight, and any more than 30 means that you are obese.

Here is an example:

As a 19 year old male, 6ft in height, and a gestimated weight of 170lbs (I have not checked my weight in six months), my BMI is rated at 23.1, which is in the range that is considered healthy for a male (20-25 BMI).

You can find a calculator for the Imperial BMI here, and for the other non-American folks, the Metric BMI calculator can be found here.

Another interesting tool in the body-fat percentage calculator, which will guestimate your body fat percentage based on your age, gender, and BMI, all of which can be found HERE.

Have fun, hope youre healthy!!!

Nice, thanks YSSMAN! Ill tell you the results, although Im likely to be healthy :)

Edit: Can't use the last link, it says between 17 and 60. I used the Imperial one, and it said I'm 23.0! Yay, healthy!

Good stuff, YSSMAN. 👍 Mine was 22.2. You wanna know another way to tell that Americans are getting..... bigger? Size of the clothes. When I came here in '87, I wore size Large. Large was becoming baggy-fit in the 90's, so I moved down to Medium. Starting last year, now, I'm sometimes a Small. I haven't worn Small since I was a kid! I've watched a TV program explaining how clothing companies adjust sizing to the population, but it's getting little bit ridiculous. In order to help Americans watch their weight little bit better, I think they'd be better off with creating bigger sizes. Maybe the cars are getting bigger for a reason, too. :D
