The standard focus st is already something like 3200lbs. I have a feeling this one will be more than 3500 with the awd bits. I doubt the power/weight ratio will be better.
Man i don't know that, i thought Focus RSs are light cars...

It was a strange moment when me and my brother realized his 2001 Jeep Cherokee is the same weight has his '13 Focus ST.
Its great though how good they perform when its actually heavy.

Ford pushed all the right buttons this year. I love every performance cars they unveiled this year :D

Holy frijoles, mang!!! That's crazy.

That AWD launch though.. Rumors say under 5s 0-60, maybe even under 4.5s 0-60..

The Forester Turbo did 5.3s 0-60 few years ago i think. This car should be a lot faster than that.

This is why im thinking the RS may be faster than a plain jane GT. If they're both setting 4.5 sec 0-60 times, that aint bad for a manual Focus that is as quick as a more than twice the price A45 AMG. The GT will have a torque advantage, yet still be heavier. Balance would be key, but what about gearing for the RS?

Honestly I don't care about the looks of the new Focus RS, because with 4WD and over 300 hp* they have finally made something even remotely successor-ish for the Escort RS Cosworth.

*If the current reports are correct.

Another thing. I posted an article in my suggestion for the Falcon GT-F to be in GT7. Its rated at 471hp, but Ford actually say it makes 542hp in oversboost for 15-20 seconds and at all times except 1st gear. This applies to all Falcons equipped with the Miami 5.0 Supercharged V8. So, if the RS is rated at 250hp, it might actually make 330hp to reach the 4.5 second to 60 time.

At least the WRX STI has a direct competitor since the Evo X was axed, Subaru can't get complacent now.

Never thought I'd say this but I don't like that front end. Grille is far too big! The ST looks much nicer.

I have to agree. Like the Cooper S, this bumper's intakes look tacked on and not at all integrated.

it's like a gimp in the face.

in other news: $140k(well equipped)

Holy koala, Australia's police forces sure are well equiped... Also, that fuel tank is massive, obviously so (a Raptor tens to sip through fuel rather rapidly, if you catch my drift). Better not upset the police there.

As for the Focus RS, it looks good, but that front end will take some time to get used to. I think it could do without the huge black bar for the plates, but I guess Ford thought otherwise. Despite that, it's got all the right ingredients: AWD and more than 300 hp. Spot on stuff, time to see what it can do on a track.

Like what i posted a few posts back. Someone photoshopped the black bar on the bumper and it looks hella better

If i have one i'd remove the black bar the second it reach my home

DIY Aftermarket modification?

But yeah, I'm sure many aftermarket tuning companies will create bodykits to solve that design fault, that much I know...

It's a global car.:D

Which by the way, according to the article @GTboyz posted, is the reason as to why the RS looks the way it looks. According to it, it was toned down to fit all markets.

But hey, I won't complain, everyone now has the right to experience the greatness that is a Focus RS. :D
