The inside looks like a dining room on a boat..

I'd take one though - And you can't beat a supercharged V10...
You can indeed beat the V-10 with a Turbocharged 6.0 Powerstroke diesel.
It's louder, meaner sounding, and says to cars "Here I come, move it over!!!"
Plus, it gets better fuel economy, and has massive amounts of power.

Ford may consider the Excursion a "failure", but everyone I know with one, including myself, love the big ol', noisy, hard to park, intimidating monster of a SUV.

I've sworn off "road rage" since buying mine. People have been so nice about moving out of my way.
Of course, I can almost hear the small children in the other vehicles screaming (over the super loud diesel noise) "MOMMY!!! MOVE, THAT BIG RED TRUCK IS GONNA EAT US!!!":scared:

 I know that feeling when I used to drive the Hummer H2's at GM, people always get out of your way because you are driving something the size of a small school bus.

But I like the Excursion, it was made for people that had a ton of kids and a ton of stuff to move. And I wouldn't think the diesel would get aweful mileage.

Okay. This thing looks like a pickup truck brother of the SynUS Concept. That's a mean bastard of a truck. For those saying that this thing looks uncomfortable is because it's still a concept. Don't make the mistake of admitting that a concept car is going to be the exact street-going result, granted it makes production. They are more about looking into the future than being stuck in the present. If you think this is going to be a road going model at this state, then it has no brake lights... yeah, you get the idea.

I'm pretty sure the seats will have plush bucket seats, a grippy steering wheel, plenty of power and performance, and that sort of thing. It's pretty mean as it is. Anything meaner-looking than the current F-Series is beyond me with this thing.

Eh, John...💡

Actually, I have six teenage sons.
And for it's massive size, the Excursion, with a diesel gets about 20 MPG on the highway. It only gets 13-15 running around town. But mine is pretty much only for long family trips.
It does get a light workout being driven into "the city" (Kansas City, MO) about once a week. (80 miles or so round trip.)
It also sees some duty, if it snows real bad.

20mpg on the freeway  I'm really impressed by that.

Its a shame if the V10 is the new big engine that they have decided to go with instead of the old "Hurricane" OHV V8 project that was started to combat the Chevrolet LS2 (Corvette, GTO, SSR, CTS-V) and LQ9 (Escalade, Vortec Maxx Trucks) 6.0L V8s.

It looks pretty weird, but obviously, this is an extreme concept with interior not yet finalized. I am surprised with the V-10 in there. I think they are stopping production of the current V-10, due to some reliability issues. Maybe they just put one in there for looks.

P.S. What is "HD"?

There are no relliability issues with the 6.8l V10...and they aren't stopping production on it because some new 2006 models and future 2007+ models will have it as an optional powerplant. Granted it's mainly the E-series and the F-series 250/350/450/550/650 lines but still. I'd prefer to have the V10 in the next Ford GT--it would just rock.

And HD stands for Heavy Duty.

*edit*
Oh, I forgot to comment on the concept. The rear and side profiles look ok--but that front is just obtrusive. And the interior will take some getting use to.

Okay, I tihnk it's obvious many people see this as the biggest hunk of hullabaloo since the SynUS Concept. I'm very sure the production model (granted it does make it to the assemly line) will look like this concept, only less like a concept.

Time to play percentages now. I'll need three from you if you choose to partake in this. (1) What percent do you believe the production model (assuming it will be) will look almost exactly like this concept? I'm talking about every aspect from front bumper to rear bumper. (2) What percent do you believe elements from this concept model will apply to future Ford truck models including SUVs and (maybe) a few vans? (3) What percent do you believe this will be the corporate face of future Ford Trucks, much like the Cadillac Cien was to Cadillacs?

If it does go into production that design better drastically change because all I can say about everything about the car is :yuck:

I heard it from a Ford dealer mechanic. If 2007+ models will have the V-10, then I guess he didn't know what he was talking about..... :guilty:

Wow... Ugly.

The only view that remotely looks good is the head-on view. The interior looks like it's made from cheap veneer, and plywood. Then again, their current F150 is ugly as well. Ford's looks for the pickup are starting to slide.

A train for the road...and the Hulk's personal transport.

If this thing could talk, it would say "SUPER CHIEF SMASH!!!"

Oh yeah, I'm in agreement over that, this thing looks cheap and horrible :yuck:
Gimmie a Harley Davidson F-150 over this anyday.

VIPFREAK
Yep, another wasted concept car...
Wasted? All the current F-250 and F-350s look alot like it.
BlazinXtreme
Blazin's Note: It's big, it's mean, it's offensive looking...and damn it I want one!
I couldn't agree more. Sort of has similar body lines as the new Honda Ridgeline, with a ford twist, and alot more manliness ;)

That engine compartment looks awesome!! The truck looks extremely aggressive and I think I could get used to the look. If I saw that coming in my rear view mirror I would get out of the way.

thats one huge shifter in the center console!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared:
Your not kidding that thing is friggin huge. You need the driver and passenger to pull at the same time to put it in gear. :dunce:

Not if it's electrically assissted like in big rigs (except the big rigs have 18 speed manuals).

Love the engine, and seeing it, means we might see it in the GT in the future, which would awesome. The outside isn't that bad, beefy looking, but looks like its trying to be too "futuristic" looking. The inside is awful, what are they trying to go for with that interior? A log cabin? Theres working off an idea, and going too far with one. I just hope it goes through major changes if it ever enters the market.

I'll snap some better pics of it at the auto show today. I must say this thing is massive up close.

My god, it's hideous, both inside and out. The engine looks good though, and the concept of the tri-fuel thing sounds good. Shame they put it in such a stupid car. Looks like they only just restrained from making the wheels square. Why not just attach an engine to a brick wall?

I have a feeling if Ford ever brings out an even more mental GT for the track, they may use that V10.
