Mazda FTW!!!

Seriously, with a good suspension and gearbox setup this can go pretty fast. The standard Torque-Converter 4-speed and the fact that it is a sedan and not the way prettier hatch destroy it a little bit for me.

It has the FS engine, which is famous for turbo additions in the USA. What many people don't know: In stock condition, the FS N/A with 1991 ccm is extremely reliable. Milages up to 500 000 km (and more with the right treatment) are possible.

I don't know exactly about the in game FS (sport edition), but in Europe the FS was also sold in the 626 Capella with 116 or 136 metric hp (170 or 178 Nm).

You bet I do! In fact, I actually drive a Mazda Protege in real life; a 1999 Mazda Protege ES model equipped with a 122 horsepower 1.8-liter engine & 4-speed automatic tranmission.

At Mid-Field Raceway on Comfort Soft tires, the stock Protege puts up a respectable time of 1:33.2 and most definitely a 1:32 with a wheel.

It never needed 4th gear, topping out at 114 mph on the front straight in 3rd.

It's almost as quick as Mazda's own Atenza 23Z and 25Z.

just came across this. I can't believe they dropped the best Mazda Familia out of the game for the Sport 20.
The true Familia was the one from GT2. Mazda Familia GT-R '92. AWD Turbo 1.8L and they are quick and fun to drive.

The Fiat Barchetta Giovane Due '00. Very first thing I noticed on this car is that the nose goes quite a ways out front of the wheels and the trunk is pretty much on the rear wheels. Looking forward to driving this delight around this week.

The Barchetta was developed between 1990 and 1994 under the project name Tipo BSpider 176. It was designed by Andreas Zapatinas and Alessandro Cavazza under the supervision of Peter Barrett Davis and othercar designers at the Fiat Centro Stile, and prototyping was carried out by Stola.Production began in February 1995 and lasted until June 2005, with a brief pause due to the bankruptcy of coachbuilder Maggiora. The Barchetta was based on the chassis of the Mark 1 Fiat Punto. The Barchetta has 1,747 cc DOHC petrol engine fitted with variable camshaft timing, used for the first time in a Fiat production car, after being patented in 1970. The engine has 132 PS (97 kW; 130 hp) and 164 N·m (121 lb·ft) of torque. The Barchetta weighs 1056 kg (2328 lb) without air conditioning and can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.9 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph).

The Barchetta was revised in 2003, for its relaunch the following year, with some alterations inside and out. The most notable changes were the revised front spoiler and rear bumper. Production of the car eventually stopped in June 2005.

It's in-game rival would be the Mazda MX-5. I'd rather drive the Mazda, but for people who are a little weary of RWD, the Fiat is a good option.

I wish I could forget about this car. It was sometimes a rabbit on GT4 so it annoyed me, I never liked it's looks either. Everything it's faster than is rubbish anyway (with the exception of the Alfa), it's slower than all it's rivals. And FF makes it boring.

I'm sorry to say I don't recommend anyone touch this one. Mind you I've never driven it, so it may well be surprising. I've just avoided it because I would always choose something that I liked the look of more.

I have a lot going on right now so I can't find the best time to do it. But back on topic, as interesting as the Barchetta looks, it actually drives quite nice for a low powered car. Seems to be pretty front heavy but with the right tune it can go quite fast. This week I decided to go with a vehicle that we see nearly every day in real life, that we just forget about it and move on. This week's forgotten vehicle is......

The Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium '07. Every time I've heard someone talk about this car they always say that it's the worst muscle (pony) car in the game. I already own one and to be honest, it doesn't drive all that bad.

Ford introduced a redesigned 2005 model year Mustang at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, codenamed "S-197," that was based on the new D2C platform.Developed under the direction of Chief Engineer Hau Thai-Tang, a veteran engineer for Ford's IndyCar program under Mario Andretti, and exterior styling designer Sid Ramnarace, the fifth-generation Mustang's styling echoes the fastback Mustang models of the late-1960s. Ford's senior vice president of design, J Mays, called it "retro-futurism." The fifth-generation Mustang was manufactured at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan.

For the 2005 to 2010 production years, the base model was powered by a 210 hp (157 kW; 213 PS) cast-iron block 4.0 L SOHC V6, while the GT used an aluminum block 4.6 L SOHC 3-valve Modular V8 with variable camshaft timing (VCT) that produced 300 hp (224 kW; 304 PS). Base models had a Tremec 3650 5-speed manual transmission with Ford's 5R55S 5-speed automatic being optional. Automatic GTs also featured this, but manual GTs had the Tremec TR-3650 5-speed.

The short gearing from the automatic is what kills it for me. Why oh why didn't they just upgrade the '05 GT in GT5P instead of introduce this model? Oh, yeah, thats right, it has the word "Premium" in it. The '05 never had a chance.

Then you must certainly be glad you missed the 80's, 90's & 00's. The Mustang GT only had 175hp-225hp up until this '05 model. And then, for some of those years it was actually rated too high. It was actually 215hp.

Really? Wow that really is bad. At least muscle cars are back up to 400+HP now. Also, didn't the 2003 Mustang GT have around 300HP?

I remember some models like the Bullitt and Cobra gained good hp with tweeks and exhausts. SVT were tuning them up.

Edit: for basic GT models you're right. 260hp. Took a long time to get that number considering the Camaro was seeing 300hp years before that. The Falcon was also over 225hp before the '05 GT. Maybe some Mustang experts here can shed some light as to why the hp figures were so low with the Mustang all those years.
