So, F1TV required an update to let me use the app. In this update it seems they deleted the code that let iOS devices cast to the TV, screen mirror or otherwise

…Soooo small screens only I guess.

If I'm seeing that correctly, there's basically no sidepods on the Mercedes?
Horner's already calling that car illegal
If they don't think of it first, everyone else is breaking the rules.

I hate Redbull, no history, only 4 championships (5 drivers) but they act like historical top dogs.

Nothing like Ferrari, McLaren or Williams.

From what I've seen on Twitter, the sidepod are apparently "inverted"....whatever that means (I'd be very happy to get the views of an expert on this matter).....also Horner apparently already complaining about the Mercedes changes 😑...ffs, what is wrong with that guy???

The porpoising effect seems to be very strong in the Mercedes still meanwhile the Ferrari looks so much more stable.

Pretty much, but then neither has Williams really (see below). It's there purely to provide bodywork for the Side Impact Spar, but Merc's interpretations of the rules says nothing about it needing supporting bodywork providing it meets the impact load. My only concern is someone T-boning the car and how close the driver would get to the spar.

Not breaking the rules if there are no rules to break. The rules don't apply until the the practice session starts, so it could be Merc pulling a blinder and tricking everyone.

"I was slightly surprised to be reading comments that I was supposed to have been making. To be honest with you I haven't paid a great deal of attention to it...."

I suppose rumours and quotes come out of thin air, don't they Karen?

Mercedes has taken off the side pods and in it’s place installed the color yellow
I'm pretty sure that shade of flouro yellow is a homage to the 2009 Brawn GP car???

The porpoising effect seems to be very strong in the Mercedes
Are porpoises regularly found on beaches? where there is lots of sand? you could say, perhaps be there and fill some sandbags?

also Horner apparently already complaining about the Mercedes
And then Red Bull make a statement that Horner hasn't made a comment, but then clarify it that Red Bull definitely have not made any comment on the Mercedes...

bunch of jokers, I wonder if their f1xed deal was just last year or if they will get everything corrected when they all go motor racing.

Mercedes going for the bush league, no sidepod Lambo 291 look. I'm sure they'll be more successful with it.

Loving all the different concepts. I didn’t think the cars would be this diverse.

The Mercedes in particular is really cool, I don’t want to see Merc domination but… 🤷‍♂️

Gotta say, not a huge fan of KMag coming back. It's a brand new car (meaning KMag is not bringing experience in the car), and F1's junior talent are already struggling for seats. It's not as if Haas is a high performance seat anyway. Would have much rather seen some newer/younger kid get the chance than bringing back an old performer.

I'm sure people will say that KMag has traits are beneficial to the team, etc. I don't care. I think we have too many older guys holding seats that would be better off with younger/more novice drivers.

Also I hope he's not being dumb and risking anything with Peugeot going forward. Short of a bizarre miracle (i.e. Haas magically makes a world beating car) he has nowhere to go in F1. Whereas he could have an actual career in sports cars going forward (he's been competitive in IMSA, no question), and it happens to be the very best time in history to do that...
When the only junior driver they could've realistically picked was Fittipaldi, who's pretty low on talent overall and definitely not a good yardstick for Mick, Magnussen is as good as it gets honestly.

Though I do think Piastri in particular should consider options other than Alpine if their seat won't open up anytime soon.

He was quoted as saying this but hasn't given any quotes to any media so it's a bit misleading anyway.

What Red Bull and Ferrari have hinted at question marks being raised over, is the wing mirrors and side crash structure. Not the sidepods.

It's quite difficult to tell what he said. Amus first reported the comment, started to circulate, Red Bull start with the denials, then all the journos go "actually he did say it".

And why is "spirit of the regulations" a thing this year? There's no spirit, it's a rulebook.

By the looks of that design, guess Merc is now in the AI game...undoubtedly intentionally keeping the pace lowered to not draw any more attention -- just my opinion.

James Allison is James Allison, domination is inevitable. The man took Schumacher to 4 titles, Alonso to both titles, and Hamilton to 5 titles.

Odds are with you, but perhaps you're reaching?

IF...the folks architecting the new 2022 regs already relied on AI calculus to formulate guidance, then surely one of the brightest in the game would have also done the same? I admit, it's conjecture...but if I widen my lens and observe the broader tech developments, then it is feasible that Merc's unorthodox designs reflect a transition into a new world of human & computational synergy.

I caught wind of a statistic on Reddit today that stood out to me; Allison has 1 more title-winning car than the legendary Newey, but he's never talked of in the same breath as Newey.

Then, I saw the perfect comment further down. James Allison likes being underrated.

Right when they started interviewing Albon on how the team’s running had been going the feed cut to Latifi’s car catching fire. 😳😳😳

Yeh I've read that they're more concerned about the mirrors.

Having done a lot of sleuthing, not helped by Andrea's lack of context, it turns out Latifi had a fire on his rear brakes.
