Unless another saftey car or VSC comes up (or unless it does and Mercereds make a bad call again), Hamilton will have to try to hold off Verstappen using tires that'll end up being 41 laps old.

This'll either be a drive to define Lewis' career, or the biggest strategy fumble from Mercedes ever.

Even with a safety car, lewis would lose position in pits.

The hards will last in terms of not blowing up, question is just if they drop off massively in pace. No sign of it so far.

Alonso ans Gasly had very good pace with 39 laps old hard tires. They only pitted because of VSC.

Max parting the back markers somehow

Lando with a front left puncture...

Hamilton warned to stay off the kerbs....

These 'hard' tyres are in the middle of the Pirelli range i.e. these are actually the same compound as would be classified as a soft tyre at some other circuits...

8 laps. A championship decided by a puncture would be awful, just awful, but I think it's par for the course with this season.

If Lewis secures this championship, even on old tires... What a statement.
