Unreal. 2 pages ago everyone was saying the lapped cars should be moved out of the way. And when it happens everyone complains.

What a way to end the championship. Very fitting for the season it’s been.
Yes, that's the problem letting the cars through was the right decision and should have been done from the start. However, the FIA made a decision which was controversial, then decided to go back and change their mind at the last minute and only let some cars not all cars through. Max won that last lap fairly and congrats on the title, but the Safety Car was handled so poorly by Masi there that it's ruined what was a scintillating final lap of an amazing season.

To all saying the ending was a farce, I agree to a point. Let's agree that Lewis could have pitted for Softs and be in the exact same position as Max was (fresh softs behind older hards). Lewis still could have done it on the road, but Merc's choices didn't give it to him.

I think we can all agree on the above, which shouldn't negate Max's championship. Just as Lewis earned it 10 laps ago, Max does, too.

What are the chances that Mercedes can appeal, if it turns out letting only 5 cars to pass is a breach of the rules?

Red Bull did nothing wrong so it would be very harsh to strip Max of his 1st World Championship if the Race Director has broken the rules just to make the last race more exciting.

I'm sure it would have. The problem is they said they weren't going to do it than at the last second changed their minds. Crap like that should never happen at this level (or any level really).
I agree. But it shouldn’t take anything away from Verstappen. He isn’t in control of the stewards.

So was only 5 cars lapped? This makes no sense....plus the safety car ending at once....like I don't know anymore!

Because the FIA decided to change they're mind at the last possible moment. Letting the cars through would've initially been the right call, but they decided not to, and then decided to not maintain consistency. The lack of consistency in the last few moments are personally my biggest problem. That, and it felt like Masi recalled the saftey car just because.

At least the "HAM always so lucky" folks can be quiet now.
You have much better faith in the overall fanbase than I do.

I see F1 has adopted NASCAR style officiating. They need to make it official and add a green white checkered

Isn't it that when you let cars unlap themselves it takes forever? Then have to allow them to go back to the end of the pack. Did that happen this time around?
