Best thing he can do is maintain the gap and then be on the faster tyres for the end... 3 DRS zones could negate the dirty air?Hamilton isn't much faster on his softer tyres than Max on the yellows.

Anyone else having sound problems on the broadcast? It's like they have the wrong mic with the wrong cameras.

Yup, but with 3 DRS zones it could be all to play for!But he will be p4 or something if he pits now.

It looks like everyone behind Bottas got the advantage of VSC, but by the time Hamilton got round again the VSC had cleared so he'd have lost time by comparison. The question is if the softs will last the distance and if Hamilton's newer softs will give him a laptime advantage at the end.
Which I don't understand. He'd still have net track position if he did pit.He actually had the chance... but Merc apparently were scared of RBR or Ferrari splitting strategies.
Shortest laps but 43 laps is a long way to go. Nerve breakingRed Bull 1-2 at the Red Bull Ring

Lewis wasn't much faster and slower at points when he was on the SS tyre. That plus DRS advantage would probably negate that issue.A split would mean sacrificing one driver to hold up Lewis.
You could say the same with every Alonso radio message.Lewis can't deal with not being in the lead.
